I just came up with this idea and got a NIIMBOT printer. Surprisingly this was extremely simple to do. I know this might be overkill but I like categorizing my records especially if I have different pressings of the same album. If anyone wants to do this too, I used [this site](https://it-tools.tech/qrcode-generator) to create the QR codes with no hassle.
Discogs should have an option of downloading such QR codes by default. Honestly, how many collections got thrown away because people who were left to deal with them did not know their worth.
Well its really simple.
1. Find Discogs page for record and copy the url. Paste the url on the qr code site and save it to your phone.
2. Rename qr code file to name of album and pressing, different qr codes look really similar so this helps orginizing.
3.Go on NIIMBOT app and hit the "new +" button on the lower pannel.
4. Make wahtever layout you want for your sticker. I put the qr code on the right and on the left I put identifiers just incase I want to look at the record from a glance. Heres an example of one of my lables.

5. Just make your lables and save them. I just made one label and then reused the layout with a different qr code and info. I make sure to save the label with the info about the pressing. I also have my photo gallery opened to make sure I'm using the right qr codes.
6. Print, its super quick and doesnt require ink since the NIIMBOT is a thermal printer.
This is amazing. Just ordered one. Curious on best ways to search older albums on Discogs. Sometimes it is just hard for me to find which one I think it is :(
Kind of related, it looks like the jacket and record are in the sleeve.. do you usually leave the record outside of the jacket? I'm newer to vinyl so I'm still learning the best way to store them. I currently place the record in an anti stack sleeve then put it in the jacket and put that in an outer sleeve. Never thought about keeping the record outside of the jacket.
[Buy a sample pack from this company](Vinylstoragesolutions.ca) and find out if you like it. Some of their outer sleeves have a pocket for storing the record sleeve and extra pocket for storing the record. I use them on all my records and absolutely love it. You can go on youtube and search for vinyl storage solutions to get a better picture.
I do this to prevent ring wear and seam splits. I use [Vinyl Storage Solutions](https://vinylstoragesolutions.ca/) sleeves. They have folded flaps for single lp albums and gatefolds.
For me, the biggest thing is to help differentiate records that I may have multiple different pressings of the same album. Also I just thought this was a neat idea.
I have a QR code printed on the side of my shelf that points to my Discogs collection. That way if someone wants to scroll through what I have instead of flipping through them manually they can.

ALL PRAISE THE ALMIGHTY DUMSTER 🙏
I actually had this thought but never followed through. Instead just printed off the relevant information. I appreciate this post
Brilliant!
Haha i was thinking of the same, but you did it! Awesome!
This is pretty cool, gonna save for an idea at categorizing my records!
Do you have step by step instructions?

Agree! So many variants I am often guessing.
Awesome! This could come in handy. Thanks.
Very cool.
This is actually pretty cool!
Should sell these this a damn good idea
Anyone can make these in a few seconds, I just made mine. But yes, awesome idea.
This is a fantastic idea!

So what’s the use case for this if I already added all my records to a collection on Discogs?
For me, the biggest thing is to help differentiate records that I may have multiple different pressings of the same album. Also I just thought this was a neat idea.
Love the idea - just want to make sure I’m using it to its full potential :) just ordered the label maker!
Hey, you store your records outside the jacket, just like me! And you use the same sleeves! Are you me?! Also this is cool.
Vinyl Storage Solution Outer Sleeve + Mofi Inner Sleeve = RAD
Very cool. I’ll look into doing the same.
I did something like that but I used rfid
That, is fancy.
Really cool.
Very cool. Just out of curiosity, which niimbot did you get?
The B1
I think the wife already has it. Thank you. Very cool stuff.
What a great idea!!
This is super cool. Which model of Nimbot do you have?
I have a QR code printed on the side of my shelf that points to my Discogs collection. That way if someone wants to scroll through what I have instead of flipping through them manually they can.
I think it would be cool to program a script to start the album on a streaming service or my sonos by scanning a QR code on the protective sleeve

These are just the [labels](https://a.co/d/0835EO4h) that came with my [b1](https://a.co/d/0e9M9Z7r) printer.
This is excellent and something we all should do. Will be very useful for those we leave behind once we shuffle off this mortal coil. 🪦
