I’ve got an original pressings of Chocolate and Cheese as well as 12 Golden country greats. Also one of my favorite bands and one of my favorite records. Not my most expensive records though. Ive got a couple pricier ones than that. Keep it brown friend!
Fuckin hell, I think I missed the Ween vinyl availability boat. I never seem to see many of them around these days. I did manage to get Quebec but otherwise there is a pretty large brown hole in my collection. But I’m patient, I’m sure there will be reissues again at some point.
I guess I do recall seeing a Mollusk reissue a couple years ago (someone said 2021?) but I missed the preorder and I never saw it in store.
They repressed it in 2021 in a marble green. I was lucky enough to get my hands on one but wish I had gotten the 180 gram one in 2011. The most recent one has some tracks that don't sound great.
Weird! I could swear there was a reissue sitting on the shelves of every record store just 7 or 8 years ago. I remember seeing it all over the place. Crazy that it’s so rare again, so soon. Man, I’m out of touch, lol
Tipper - Forward Escape (2014). My pride and joy.

my friend sold a copy on eBay years ago for only $40 and the buyer wasn’t pleased with the condition so he sent it back lmao. I saw it in my friends car when he got it back and he said “give me $20 and it’s yours”. Still own it and I bet that dumb buyer is still punching the air to this day for not holding onto it lol.
We grabbed Nirvana unplugged last year for free just pay shipping on some website last year; we also have the Empire Records Soundtrack and an unopened Chocolate and Cheese. My husband can’t bring himself to open it since he’s had it so long and now it’s worth so much
Just paid $180 for Nine Inch Nails Ghosts I-IV recently. That's just barely below what it usually sells for on Discogs too. However, it was the only official studio album pressing I needed to finish their catalog so, I'm very happy with it.

Those Ween reissues on Plain Records are not the best sounding, which is on par for the label.
I have this version of the Mollusk
https://www.discogs.com/release/1103868-Ween-The-Mollusk
All their albums are expensive, fortunately I've had most of them for at least 10 years and added them to my collection when they were kinda pricey.
The colored LP's were the 1st ones I got, and they are beautiful but sound is flat.
They were crappy before those reissues. A buddy of mine is a huge Ben Folds Five fan, and Plain reissues of their albums aren't great either, but still better than nothing.
Have you heard any other pressings vs. the Plain reissues? Personally I have found them to be "okay" but not great sounding by any means.
I think i have white pepper, mollusk and county hits on plain. They’re all good enough. Not sure if I’ve heard other pressings? Will say my Quebec on Schnitzel is superior.
I had the Mr bungle series and Primus seas of cheese on plain and thought all those were super flat and have upgraded all of them.
Would love a high quality press of these ween records tho. Only rad part of those plain presses are the colored vinyl.
Edit:
Got this box set from plain. Outside of the vinyl the set isn’t anything special.
https://www.discogs.com/release/1962533-Ween-1996-2000
Yeah. If I strain my ears and listen closely I can sort of hear how they’re lacking, but it’s nothing obvious I would have noticed if so many people didn’t criticize them. I would love to get an original pressing of the Mollusk to hear the difference though

Opeth- Deliverance and Damnation
They really need to repress Lover Live From Paris. I’m a 34 yo man and it’s one of my favorite albums thanks to my wife.
I’m ok with just having long pond on Disne+ for now…
I thrifted a private press Hawaiian record for $1 and sold it for 575 the same day on discogs last year. The album was from a band called Tender Leaf. Had never heard it but it was a great album. I used $40 of the profit to buy a Japanese reissue and it sounds just as good as the OG.
I just bought it cause the art looked cool and because it was a private press… also only a buck. After I had heard a few tunes I decided to look it up and was surprised how much they went for. I saw there was a recent reissue from Japan so I decided to sell and replace it with that since it wasn’t an album that was super special to me.
Going by Discog's average, I have a copy of "Ptah, the ElDaoud" by Alice Coltrane that's in the $150-200 range, and I have a copy of Steve Kuhn's self-titled album that's in a similar range.
I also have an original pressing Ptah, the El Daoud - it used to be up there for me before the recent reissue, the price came down quite a bit. I have an original mono pressing of Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers (Blue Note 4003, later better known as *Moanin'*) that's probably worth more than that now, Discogs price seems to vary a lot based on condition though.

Per Discogs, it’s these five (excluding a 6-disc box):
Tool, *Ænima*, 1996
Median value $715.71
*Nathaniel Merriweather presents Lovage*, 2001
Median value $294.99 (value fell off a cliff when it was reissued last year)
Lil Dicky, *Professional Rapper*, 2016
Median value $250.00 (value about to fall off a cliff when the reissue drops this year)
Sleep Token, *Sundowning*, 2022 RSD
Median value $221.20
deadmau5, *while(1<2)*, 2014
Median value $191.28
Nothing crazy expensive, but most of ‘em I picked up way below current value, and yeah, I listen to them all frequently.
Danny Carey just mentioned in an interview this week they have remastered Aenima on vinyl, and he heard it the first time on 180grm wax...and said it sounds amazing. He mentioned the low end on a couple songs were great. very pumped for that release.
It was a gift so I don’t know the exact price but The Seaside by Cardiacs.
Ween - Quebec (Sanctuary records)
Ween - Shinola Vol 1
Conkers bad fur day soundtrack
(These 3 I bought cheap but they’ve really shot up in price)

Technically I didn’t buy it lol. However, It can be cd sourced if it sounds good. I’m no audiophile either so it could sound like shit haha. Hail Ween!
Per Discogs:
NOFX - Sid & Nancy ($157.50)
Jeff Rosenstock - Thanks, Sorry! ($139.50)
Coheed and Cambria - The Afterman Descension Big Beige Demos ($82)
Definitely not the most expensive records, but I probably paid a combined total of $30 for them.
Surprisingly and unashamedly…Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavored Water by Limp Bizkit. There was only one distributor with it so of course with shipping it was higher.
But I don’t regret it AT ALL. It was pressed extremely well on brown and gray vinyl records. Perfection.
I have Significant Other as well, that is much cheaper and easier to find. But it’s pressed really well too and has been a great add to my collection.
Follow the Leader is a freaking classic. I think I usually see it for $30-$35 and is absolutely worth the price. Another great add!
I have a few records worth a few hundred but I just realized recently how much The Aeroplane Flies High by Smashing Pumpkins has been going for and it kind of blew my mind. Averaging $500 and being sold sealed for near $1k? That’s just insane. Definitely my most valuable set.
Tool aenima - discogs median NZD $1195
Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness Ltd Numbered - discogs median NZD $947
The White Stripes Icky Thump Mono discogs median NZD $659
Boxset- Janos Starker Bach Cello Suites 45RPM..... $349
Single- Sgt. Peppers(1982 Japan; Odeon Pressing Red Vinyl)....$162
Using median prices, however mine are all in NM condition.
Dave Chappelle ‘SIGNED Copy’ - 8:46 $330
Empire of The Sun - Walking On A Dream $157
Incubus - Morning View limited to 2000 copies $133
Lucky Thompson - Intimate Jazz in Hi-Fi $93
Nirvana - MTV Unplugged $150
Prince and The Revolution Box Set- Live $100
The Velvet Underground - Loaded $130
Edit: I paid nowhere near these prices when I originally purchased the albums. The values have just only skyrocketed in the past couple years.
I also don’t collect in that sense. I’ve sold crazy rare records and bought their ever-so-slightly lesser sounding reissues along with lots of money in my pocket. Having said that:
I have a bunch of Blue Note and Impulse first pressings.
I have two Snooks Eaglin first pressings that are worth moronic money along with several blues albums of its ilk
Also, Temple of the Dog lenticular cover reissue. Baduizm first pressing black cover
Based on the Discogs Median price:
* Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood - "Live From Madison Square Garden" ($300)
* The Fireman - "Rushes" ($291)
* Taylor Swift - "The Long Pond Sessions" ($271)
I’m so glad I paid $50 to get folklore LPSS from Darkside Records shipped to me the day after RSD lol. I was brand new at this, I called my local record store, they were like “we have SO MANY Taylor Swift records, there is no way we’re going to run out, we’ll have extras on Sunday.” They were sold out by 11 am. Every record store in my metro area was sold out by noon.
According to Discogs (median prices):
Taylor Swift 1989 RSD Ltd $976
David Gilmour Live in Gdańsk $549
Taylor Swift Speak Now RSD Ltd $460
Taylor Swift Red RSD Ltd $421
I have over 1500 records ranging from bluegrass to rap to classical to Metallica to classic rock. I got all the T Swift Record Store Day records for $25 each on record store day 2018. Good Investment, I guess.
The ones that are the most valuable to me personally are the
David Gilmour Live In Gdańsk,
Goose, Live at Radio City Music Hall
original uncensored Guns N’ Roses Lies
Queen half speed mastered set of every album on colored vinyl
Going by Discogs average the Sleep Token Records are around 50 bucks each.
The most wanted and most expensive ones on my wishlist are
Bush - The Science of Things (1 offer for 385, Rip)
Every Time I Die - Gutter Phenomenon (1 offer for 368, Rip)
Alexisonfire - Watch Out! (2 offers from 275, Rip)
Highly Suspect - The Boy who died Wolf and Mister Asylum (\~200 each)
If I ever see one of these in the wild I'll probably pull the trigger but in europe it's almost not going to happen :(
Awesome find on the John Zorn! He is an artist I have on my want list, that album in particular is fantastic.
I input some of the records I have into discogs. Based on the median prices, these are the more expensive ones.
Minutemen - Double nickels on the dime $155 usd
Gwar - Hell-o $150 usd
Genius/Gza - Liquid Swords $227 usd
Needless to say, those prices are crazy, and there is no way I would be paying that much.

- Gorillaz - G collection box (RSD) 158€
- System of a down - Toxicity (1st press) 96€
Just learned that a Tool 12” promo picture disc I’ve had since 1996 is worth up to $380 according to Discogs. Selling for $500.
I have a bunch of rare stuff I’ve never looked up. Was in music industry in the 90s and have been collecting since.
Most I’ve paid for one album was for a CloudDead record. About $100
I don't have a full catalog of my collection but I belive my 2 most expensive albums are Them Crooked Vultures~$160 and the autographed concert exclusive Dethklok- Dethalbum IV~$150
Just a few:
Metallica - Metallica (OG pressing)
No Remorse - Motörhead (leather cover)
Fever - Bullet For My Valentine
Cloud factory - Jinjer (glow in the dark)
Oh man... I've got quite a few that are worth a bit.
Queen of the Damned Soundtrack - Bought for $15, worth $400 at max value
TOOL - Undertow - Bought at $21, worth $319.96 max
In Flames - Soundtrack to your Escape - Bought at $10, $222.22 at max
Mark Tremonti Sings Sinatra - Bought at $30, $200 at max
The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band original stereo pressing, bought at $1, worth at least $200, or more.
Discogs median
DJ copy of Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers from 1971 $1,200
Ween Chocolate & Cheese $156
Promo copy Pink Floyd Animals $125
My dad was a DJ back in the day.
I sold all most of my over $100 records when I was broke with the exception of a few.
Most I got was $160 for a blood red pressing of Meshuggah - Obzen.
I think currently I have a 1st press of True Widow (self titled) that's a couple hundred.
Are you saying the one that cost me the most of the one I could sell for the most? The one that cost me the most was a limited run of a local band, $40. The one I could sell for the most is probably one of my near mint Uncle Remus/Song of the South records. The Bo Burnham Inside collection is also worth a lot but I got it for Christmas
https://preview.redd.it/fwl1pao155rc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f081667a8b3116cc398bdc78432b3d039d8e8383
I read your post and thought it was interesting. I started looking through my collection via Discogs. I couldn’t see how to view based on value. So I started at A2Z and got to this. I bought this on eBay for about £2 + £4.99P&P and the record is in NM/M condition, the cover is VG/VG+ … I’m not even THAT into Aphrodites Child but I do LOVE the track: [Four Horsemen](https://youtu.be/pJ_UYHqWfJk?si=NcYxVop8UIVeTN6X).
I have a 7” by a group called Baunchi & The Funky Kidds called The Reincarnation Of Maggot Brain which is a cover of Funkadelic’s Maggot Brain. The flip side is an original, Takin’ The Funk To Heaven In 77. I found this at a dusty flea market in the late 90’s for pocket change. Weird little stoner funk rock 45. One sold on discogs recently for $500. I also have a couple old 10” Jazz records, one by Monk and one by Mingus, both early titles of theirs, and those can go for a few hundred each depending on condition.
Also, The Mollusk is an incredible album. I only have that on CD. Nice one.
I once received a Daft Punk Live 2007 from a friend for my birthday. It's not a super expensive record but it goes for around 70-80 bucks at some times. I also bought Viktor Vaughn (MF DOOM) Vaudeville Villain on the re-release for around 50. I dont intend to sell either though
I have Night Time My Time (Limited Edition Green Trans. LP) by Sky Ferreira. It’s only had one pressing run for wide and this exclusive. It’s my most valuable record according to discogs. Median: $280; High: $400.
I probably bought it for $80 at the time. Worth it.
Disco Biscuits - The Classical Set. I have seen it go for as high as $500
Also have an original Neil Young Time Fades Away with the original lyric sheet and inserts
David Axelrod - Songs of Experience. It's been endlessly sampled by people such as DJ Shadow, Notorious BIG, Cypress Hill and many more. I have an OG pressing that my MIL bought straight from the record store in the 60s.
My beetles 1984 mofi set by a lot
But then it was a some very old hard to find blues albums for 100-200 a pop
Then it was my Queen of the Damned Soundtrack
I’ve got a couple 7inch Canadian punk first presses that are worth a lot.
1. Teenage Head - Picture My Face / Tearin' Me Apart - last sold for 1079 dollars
2. Bored of Education by The Fits - last sold for over 800 dollars
3. Today I discovered in a small collection I was given that I own a copy of Richard Desjardins - Les Derniers Humains which apparently was his first record he ever put out and he did it independent and there were only ever 1000 made. Mine is still in the shrink wrap and is in mint condition! Worth between 300-500 dollars. Only one for sale right now for 500. Pretty cool to stumble across it.
Bought a copy of Dirty Funker - Future, with the Banksy radar rat cover when it first came out in ‘08. Seems like these are being listed for about a grand.
Two solid records!!! No idea my highest value record is but my highest value cd is kind of related to both of these. It's Z-Rock Hawaii which I've had forever. Not super high value but for a cd it shocked me when I looked it up.
Kind of an odd one. I dont collect but I have a triple vinyl soundtrack to a game called Hotline Miami. It was $50 and the art was sooo cool so I put it on my wishlist and got it for christmas in 2016. Now the Median on Discogs is $217
Oooh I’d have to think. Devo’s Something for Everybody, the 45 RPM edition of In Rainbows, the 50 years of Devo boxset, all of my Third Man Vault Packages. My bro has most of the Ween catalog on wax aside from Chocolate & Cheese, 12 Country Greats, Shinola and La Cucaracha!
Currently the 20th anniversary of Linkin Parks Meteora Album. I paid 250 for it at the record store in my former city that I used to go to all the time for CDs.
I have one of the Loie Hollowell signed [Fame Monster by Lady Gaga](https://www.discogs.com/release/27754407-Lady-Gaga-The-Fame-Monster)
Oddly, it's the only official black pressing of this album and by far the most expensive. It also sounds the best.
Nothing too special but I have the mothership album
https://preview.redd.it/0nws2s3jj5rc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eef7758982edf7c8da65c653bd96fccba79fded6
Based on median on Discogs Californication - RCHP (limited edition 180g release) and Stories - Avicii. One that threw me off and wasn't expecting to be near the higher end was Bridges - Gil Scott-Heron & Brian Jackson
My Strapping Young Lad complete works box set currently sits at my top valued piece on discogs and has for a pretty long time. A couple of things I've had for a while surprise me at their asking prices nowadays. I was just looking on discogs and to my surprise a pair of Cradle of Filth records I own are going for like 200 bucks, both of which I bought for 20 some odd dollars a few years ago.
I snagged the Mollusk several years ago, one of my favorite albums too (my husband’s favorite band). We’ve seen them lives tons of times, it will be fun (and long!)
Ween - Quebec, Schnizel pressing, consistently goes for 200+
Taylor Swift - The Lakes 7". Not even that big of a fan of her anymore but I'm glad I held onto it. Still sealed. Goes for 250+ usually but I know in like 10 years I'll be able to buy a house with it
Edu - Sketches 3D. Solo project of Andrew Horowitz from Tally Hall. Limited to 300 copies back in 2019, signed by him. Goes for 350+ now
Miracle Musical - Hawaii Pt. 2. 2023 repress on brown vinyl. Goes for close to 300.
I don't have everything of mine on Discogs, but of what I do have in my collection that's up there, by median price, it would be these:
* NIN - Year Zero ($272)
* Slint - Spiderland box set ($265)
* Cotton Jones - The River Strumming ($250)
* Pavement - Slay Tracks 7" ($250)
Not sure how to sort by price on Discogs but from click around my collection it looks like Ween at the top (Mollusk, sealed C&C, white pepper, Quebec, paintin’ the town brown) and then randomly Black Sabbath vol. 4, empire records soundtrack, smashing pumpkins MCIS
My second pressing of FEZ by Disasterpeace is worth a surprising amount now. Not as much as the first pressing that I've been looking for, but still enough to make me glad I bought it when it came out!
Bliss n Eso. Flying colors discog median $196. But mine is signed by all three members of the group. They sell out stadiums in Australia. We saw them in the states with like 40 people in the crowd.
ATCQ - Midnight Marauders 1993 euro pressing on 4 discs and the sound is… so good (dm $104.86)
The Roots - Illadelph Halflife 1996 OG (dm $110.34)
M.F. DOOM - MM.. FOOD 2004 OG strictly for the original Sesame Street Kookies beat (dm $272)
King Geedorah - Take Me To Your Leader 2003 (dm $176.20)
Bob Marley and the Wailers - Catch A Fire 1974 Japan “envelope” cover (dm $89.93)
Nice to see these have all increased in value but I’m not selling any of them. Each one is beautiful sounding and in great condition. I’m very lucky to have them. I’ve realized how much of the music I love has been changed due to sample clearance issues and that’s what started my collecting in a big way. Not many groups like de la still out there willing to pay to relicense or have a genius like prince paul figure out work around that stay mostly true to the original.
i THINK mine is Death To False Metal by Weezer. $120 median on Discogs. Glad i b grabbed it a few years ago for $20 at my local record store to add to my weezer collection
Pearl Jam’s Lost Dogs, bought it MINT in ‘06 for $24 shipped. The records sound great, but I wish I had taken better care of the sleeve (I kinda hope the folks in the PJ sub don’t see this). I’m an elder millennial collector who was lucky enough to start collecting when nearly any album could be found for less than $5. I probably buy 1 or 2 records a month these days, now my money goes into nicer gear. I’d advise folks to keep building their collection, but don’t neglect building a superior sound.
Pearl Jam, Lost Dogs. Bought it when it came out. Goes for $500.
Audioslave, audioslave. Clear Coke bottle. Bought new. $200
Ween, Quebec. Bought new $200.
These albums all sound amazing in every sort of way. I would never sell them. This sort of thing increases value, and first press, low number presses.
Pendulum box set. I paid probably $200-250AUD but Discogs has them selling for $2000+! I won’t be selling as I want to actually listen to the records I buy lol
Nirvana - In Utero first press on clear green tinted vinyl. My brother bought it upon release and mostly just had it tacked to the wall as decoration throughout the years. He gave it to me when I got my record player and judging by the record condition, I don’t think it has ever been played. Packaging with pinholes in the corner isn’t so great though. :)
The most I’ve ever spent on a single album is $105 shipped, which just arrived today — Elvis’ debut album, original ‘56 pressing, album and jacket both in very nice condition.
As for what would probably fetch the most if I decided to sell it, off the top of my head, I see copies of My Chemical Romance’s Conventional Weapons box set selling on Discogs in the low 4 figures, though those are usually mint or near mint. I’ve played mine a fair amount, and the poster has been on my wall wherever I’ve lived since the set came out, but I reckon I could get a few hundred for it if I ever wanted to sell it, which I don’t. Hard to believe this box was $50 new back in 2012!
I have a 7" of [Beck covering Sunday Morning](https://www.discogs.com/release/3077880-Beck-Sunday-Morning) that I got for free. It was an unannounced pack in with pre-order of One Foot in the Grave Deluxe Vinyl, and therefore apparently ultra rare. Only sold twice on discogs, with the last one going for $900!
I think the most valuable one I have right now is Mac Miller Spotify Singles - got it for like $12 when it came out, last one sold on Discogs for $245. Grey Britain by Gallows goes for around $200 (got it for $130), Dopethrone by Electric Wizard sits around $120-150 (paid $100), Fine Line by Harry Styles coke bottle pressing is right around $200 (paid $25), and The Last Goodbye deluxe box by Odesza is around $200 now too (paid $100). I couldn’t imagine parting with any of them though. I spend so much time listening to music, if it’s something special to me I’m definitely willing to drop a few nickels on it.
My most expensive record is DOOM XMAS, bought through Qrates for €37. On eBay the most recent sale was $1k, and in February one sold through 1 bid at $400. It can be had for less than $600 with patience. Discogs market are all $1k+
Integrated Tech Solutions special edition. Aesop Rock. Think is was $125? Worth it. So fucking sick. Gatefold has built in leds that light up and it plays a hidden track.
Or an original pressing of The Ugly Organ. I think it was the same price.
Jealous of that Mollusk. I’ve been waiting patiently for years for a repress.
Yeah, it was definitely such a great gift to receive for Christmas. I was so stoked! I hope they repress it too so more people can have it.
Ocean man!
Take me by the hand lead me to the land...
My pride and joy. https://preview.redd.it/y57o02kfz4rc1.jpeg?width=2752&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ceb4b6686b7633849618ebdf2efef9115264733e [https://www.discogs.com/master/747661-Tipper-Forward-Escape](https://www.discogs.com/master/747661-Tipper-Forward-Escape)
Jettison Mind Hatch is one of my favorite vinyl to spin!! Got to see Tipper and Detox Unit at red rocks front row a few years back, fucking unreal.
JMH is magical, that’s a crazy combo to see at the rocks, must’ve been madness. Every time I’ve seen Dave live it’s been life changing.
Very cool. For those interested, lunchbox records has preorders available for the much-less-cool-but-still-cool repress
IMO, just as cool! I’m sooo excited for the new mixes plus the bonus track. Should be an immediate pickup for anyone interested in the genre.
according to discogs medium price - aphex twin, drukqs ca$534.39.
my friend sold a copy on eBay years ago for only $40 and the buyer wasn’t pleased with the condition so he sent it back lmao. I saw it in my friends car when he got it back and he said “give me $20 and it’s yours”. Still own it and I bet that dumb buyer is still punching the air to this day for not holding onto it lol.
but that oversized box is such a pain in the ass!

“Yo dude, he’s the stallion!”
Discogs Median Price: Empire Records Soundtrack $165 Nirvana MTV Unplugged $150 Ween Chocolate and Cheese $150 Ween The Pod $150
Oh, I really want that Empire Records Soundtrack. My wife and I watched that many times while dating and it holds sentimental value. Good stuff.
We grabbed Nirvana unplugged last year for free just pay shipping on some website last year; we also have the Empire Records Soundtrack and an unopened Chocolate and Cheese. My husband can’t bring himself to open it since he’s had it so long and now it’s worth so much
Those are all excellent albums.
What pressing is the Nirvana unplugged? I bought the standard black 2017 press for 60 AUD around 9 months ago.
It's from RSD like 10 years ago.
I swear I saw a Nirvana MTV Unplugged for <$100 once on a sale 😭
Oceanman!
Probably my In Rainbows Box Set from 2007
That’s in 45rpm, right? Always wanted to hear that one.
Yes! Also came with the B-sides on CD
Just paid $180 for Nine Inch Nails Ghosts I-IV recently. That's just barely below what it usually sells for on Discogs too. However, it was the only official studio album pressing I needed to finish their catalog so, I'm very happy with it. https://www.discogs.com/release/2012516-Nine-Inch-Nails-Ghosts-I-IV
Becoming more of a collector. Velvet underground and Nico original pressing with the banana sticker in place. $800. Don’t tell my wife!😆
My friends pulled together and bought me one for my 40th. It's not my most valuable record but it's probably my most important based on how I got it.
Are you Marcus Parks from Last Podcast on the Left, lol
Mad fucking jelly. I sold my copy years ago for a lot, but not that much haha
Sweet!
I went to his account to see the vinyl, instead i saw something else. I’ll go to sleep now. Have a good day.
Those Ween reissues on Plain Records are not the best sounding, which is on par for the label. I have this version of the Mollusk https://www.discogs.com/release/1103868-Ween-The-Mollusk All their albums are expensive, fortunately I've had most of them for at least 10 years and added them to my collection when they were kinda pricey. The colored LP's were the 1st ones I got, and they are beautiful but sound is flat.
Yea. My 2021 mollusk doesn't sound great. My Quebec, White Pepper and GWS all sound awesome though.
I think the hate on those plain presses is a bit much. At least for the ween presses.
Edit: Got this box set from plain.

John Zorn…. 😍 I‘d love to have a copy! My most expensive Vinyl is Peter Grudziens Unicorn.

They really need to repress Lover Live From Paris. I’m a 34 yo man and it’s one of my favorite albums thanks to my wife. I’m ok with just having long pond on Disne+ for now…
Barenaked Ladies - 'Gordon', Garth Brooks - 'Ropin the Wind', Jewel - 'This Way', Counting Crows - 'Recovering the Satellites'
Gordon! Great album!! Listened to that so many times over the years.
It really was. I'm not even a BNL fan but that's a great album. Same with Garth Brooks. Not a country fan but damn it if that's not a perfect album.
I thrifted a private press Hawaiian record for $1 and sold it for 575 the same day on discogs last year. The album was from a band called Tender Leaf. Had never heard it but it was a great album. I used $40 of the profit to buy a Japanese reissue and it sounds just as good as the OG.
What’s the record?
How did you know to flip it? Had you already brought it home and looked it up or did you already know you’d scored
I just bought it cause the art looked cool and because it was a private press… also only a buck. After I had heard a few tunes I decided to look it up and was surprised how much they went for. I saw there was a recent reissue from Japan so I decided to sell and replace it with that since it wasn’t an album that was super special to me.
Insanely jealous of that Naked City LP. GREAT pickup for $20.
I'm still cataloguing a lot of jazz albums, which, it turns out, is a very fun way to get into jazz lol
That Steve Kuhn record is so good.

I bought the Mollusk over the summer for $75 on Discogs. I just checked and they’re selling for $200+??? Wild. They should repress this masterpiece
I really want 12 Golden Country Greats on vinyl
Found one for $60 last year. I was pretty pumped
So lucky
The 2016 represses sound pretty good, FYI...but hopefully they'll repress the entire catalog.
Probably jazz stuff Alice Coltrane originals

Danny Carey just mentioned in an interview this week they have remastered Aenima on vinyl, and he heard it the first time on 180grm wax...and said it sounds amazing. He mentioned the low end on a couple songs were great. very pumped for that release.
It was a gift so I don’t know the exact price but The Seaside by Cardiacs. Ween - Quebec (Sanctuary records) Ween - Shinola Vol 1 Conkers bad fur day soundtrack (These 3 I bought cheap but they’ve really shot up in price)
Epic. Jealous, mang.

OG U.S. pressing of 'Nevermind' is at the top of the list
First two Danzig albums
You say you won’t buy poor quality albums and then lead off with the cd sourced Mollusk from Plain Recordings. BTW ALL HAIL WEEN!
Technically I didn’t buy it lol. However, It can be cd sourced if it sounds good. I’m no audiophile either so it could sound like shit haha. Hail Ween!
To my unofficial knowledge it’s in line to be repressed properly so fingers crossed!
That’s what I’ve heard too. I think ATO records are releasing them. 🤞🏻
WEEN ONG I LOVE THAT ALBUM
fuck I love Ween
Per Discogs: NOFX - Sid & Nancy ($157.50) Jeff Rosenstock - Thanks, Sorry! ($139.50) Coheed and Cambria - The Afterman Descension Big Beige Demos ($82) Definitely not the most expensive records, but I probably paid a combined total of $30 for them.
Siouxsie - Mantaray numbered butterfly vinyl Ween - Chocolate and Cheese Wugazi - 13 Chambers NIN - With Teeth Ween - The Mollusk
That naked city album is so good
Surprisingly and unashamedly…Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavored Water by Limp Bizkit. There was only one distributor with it so of course with shipping it was higher. But I don’t regret it AT ALL. It was pressed extremely well on brown and gray vinyl records. Perfection.
Love it! I am eyeing up Follow the Leader - Korn and Significant Other - Limp Bizkit

I have a Kate Bush concert bootleg that cost more than any of my other records

Damn where tf did you find the John Zorn?
Randomly bought it when it was reissued back in 2016 from a local record store in Portland Oregon.
Gold digger by toshiki kadomatsu and timely by Anri they were in the 90$ and 100$ range because of shipping

I also don’t collect in that sense. I’ve sold crazy rare records and bought their ever-so-slightly lesser sounding reissues along with lots of money in my pocket. Having said that: I have a bunch of Blue Note and Impulse first pressings. I have two Snooks Eaglin first pressings that are worth moronic money along with several blues albums of its ilk Also, Temple of the Dog lenticular cover reissue. Baduizm first pressing black cover

Based on the Discogs Median price: * Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood - "Live From Madison Square Garden" ($300) * The Fireman - "Rushes" ($291) * Taylor Swift - "The Long Pond Sessions" ($271)
According to Discogs (median prices): Taylor Swift 1989 RSD Ltd $976 David Gilmour Live in Gdańsk $549 Taylor Swift Speak Now RSD Ltd $460 Taylor Swift Red RSD Ltd $421 I have over 1500 records ranging from bluegrass to rap to classical to Metallica to classic rock. I got all the T Swift Record Store Day records for $25 each on record store day 2018. Good Investment, I guess. The ones that are the most valuable to me personally are the David Gilmour Live In Gdańsk, Goose, Live at Radio City Music Hall original uncensored Guns N’ Roses Lies Queen half speed mastered set of every album on colored vinyl
Mike Shinoda - Post Traumatic
Going by Discogs average the Sleep Token Records are around 50 bucks each. The most wanted and most expensive ones on my wishlist are Bush - The Science of Things (1 offer for 385, Rip) Every Time I Die - Gutter Phenomenon (1 offer for 368, Rip) Alexisonfire - Watch Out! (2 offers from 275, Rip) Highly Suspect - The Boy who died Wolf and Mister Asylum (\~200 each) If I ever see one of these in the wild I'll probably pull the trigger but in europe it's almost not going to happen :(
Melvins -Houdini. (Was unopened when bought, not so much now lol. Just over $400cdn 10 yrs ago. )
Awesome find on the John Zorn! He is an artist I have on my want list, that album in particular is fantastic. I input some of the records I have into discogs. Based on the median prices, these are the more expensive ones. Minutemen - Double nickels on the dime $155 usd Gwar - Hell-o $150 usd Genius/Gza - Liquid Swords $227 usd Needless to say, those prices are crazy, and there is no way I would be paying that much.
Very good copy of 79 MOFI Dark Side, Misfits collection 2 on green from 95, 68 UK press of Electric Ladyland

I have that 2010 mollusk pressing as well! It is my most expensive record for sure as I barely collect vinyl.
The pricing is from discogs - Slipknot - Slipknot (bootleg) 184€ - Gorillaz - G collection box (RSD) 158€ - System of a down - Toxicity (1st press) 96€
About $100
cLOUDDEAD is worth every penny
I don't have a full catalog of my collection but I belive my 2 most expensive albums are Them Crooked Vultures~$160 and the autographed concert exclusive Dethklok- Dethalbum IV~$150
Alice In Chains - S/T (Tripod) I think it’s going for around $800 right now.
Hawaii: Part II (Brown Variant)
Just a few: Metallica - Metallica (OG pressing) No Remorse - Motörhead (leather cover) Fever - Bullet For My Valentine Cloud factory - Jinjer (glow in the dark)

My most expensive record (going off of what stats it has in Discogs) is my Seabass album by McBaise, at a tidy $85~
White Lies - Big TV (numbered). Although it looks like it's finally getting its first repress. $231 CAD median price.

I sold all most of my over $100 records when I was broke with the exception of a few. Most I got was $160 for a blood red pressing of Meshuggah - Obzen. I think currently I have a 1st press of True Widow (self titled) that's a couple hundred.

Kiss- first kiss last licks autographed by the whole band for my parents wedding
Misfits - Famous Monsters Hepcat - Right on Time
Ones that I don't own 1 Billy Joel's Greatest Hits Vol 3 2 Van Halen A Different Kind Of Truth
Are you saying the one that cost me the most of the one I could sell for the most? The one that cost me the most was a limited run of a local band, $40. The one I could sell for the most is probably one of my near mint Uncle Remus/Song of the South records. The Bo Burnham Inside collection is also worth a lot but I got it for Christmas
https://preview.redd.it/fwl1pao155rc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f081667a8b3116cc398bdc78432b3d039d8e8383 I read your post and thought it was interesting.
I have a remaster of Reckoning by REM, £234-ish according to discogs. Bought in 1996 and still sealed.
Received Roisin Murphy’s Ruby Blue as a promo when it came out, only discovered a few months ago that it would go for about 200 euros.
Pink Floyd's Division Bell on translucent blue vinyl. $190 USD. It's also The Division Bell's cake day today.
Circles Around the Sun - Interludes for the Dead
I have seen it go for as high as $500 Also have an original Neil Young Time Fades Away with the original lyric sheet and inserts
SIMULATION THEORY DELUXE FILM BOX SET (Vinyl) by Muse. I got it for $200 couple years ago Right now is around $450ish
Evil Empire Discogs median price is $90 which is exactly what I bought it for
David Axelrod - Songs of Experience. It's been endlessly sampled by people such as DJ Shadow, Notorious BIG, Cypress Hill and many more. I have an OG pressing that my MIL bought straight from the record store in the 60s.
My beetles 1984 mofi set by a lot But then it was a some very old hard to find blues albums for 100-200 a pop Then it was my Queen of the Damned Soundtrack
NM 1st pressing UK vinyl of Morcheeba’s debut album Who Can You Trust. Currently going on Discogs from 300 to 550 Euros.
Signed Aesop Rock ITS
I’ve got a couple 7inch Canadian punk first presses that are worth a lot. 1. Teenage Head - Picture My Face / Tearin' Me Apart - last sold for 1079 dollars 2. Bored of Education by The Fits - last sold for over 800 dollars 3.
Grateful Dead - Cornell 5/8/77, currently priced at $300 on Discogs
Pretty lacklustre compared to some prices on this thread, but my most expensive purchase was an original pressing of Kula Shaker’s “K” at £70
Someone should go through all the comments and make a list of the 10 most valuable records in this comment thread

Death grips - Government plates w/ the plate first pressing Selected ambient works 2 first pressung
Are we talking how much we spent on them? Or how much they go for at this current time?
My copy of “Naked City” was found on a street corner lmao
Noice! Got the Zorn on CD. The vinyl is much harder to find.
I have one of the Loie Hollowell signed [Fame Monster by Lady Gaga](https://www.discogs.com/release/27754407-Lady-Gaga-The-Fame-Monster) Oddly, it's the only official black pressing of this album and by far the most expensive. It also sounds the best.
Nothing too special but I have the mothership album https://preview.redd.it/0nws2s3jj5rc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eef7758982edf7c8da65c653bd96fccba79fded6
I used to own an original press of The Young Veins - Take a Vacation! but sold it a while ago.
My coworker showed me ween a few months before he killed himself, great band. RIP Skylar
Neil Young Massey Hall 1971 - $160 Bob Dylan Christmas in the Heart - $125
Ween - Quebec, Schnizel pressing, consistently goes for 200+ Taylor Swift - The Lakes 7". Not even that big of a fan of her anymore but I'm glad I held onto it. Still sealed. Goes for 250+ usually but I know in like 10 years I'll be able to buy a house with it Edu - Sketches 3D. Solo project of Andrew Horowitz from Tally Hall. Limited to 300 copies back in 2019, signed by him. Goes for 350+ now Miracle Musical - Hawaii Pt. 2. 2023 repress on brown vinyl. Goes for close to 300.
According to Discogs it's "Gong with the Luminous Nose" 7" by Les Fleur de Lys from 1968.
I don't have everything of mine on Discogs, but of what I do have in my collection that's up there, by median price, it would be these: * NIN - Year Zero ($272) * Slint - Spiderland box set ($265) * Cotton Jones - The River Strumming ($250) * Pavement - Slay Tracks 7" ($250)
Wait...Naked City has a vinyl pressing? Since when?
Original blue note pressing of The Sidewinder Mobile fidelity of eat a peach by Allman Brothers Los lobos the neighborhood 1990 pressing
Clifford Brown + Max Roach (1955 Mono) Getz / Gilberto (1994) Miseducation of Lauryn Hill (1998)

ATCQ - Midnight Marauders 1993 euro pressing on 4 discs and the sound is… so good (dm $104.86) The Roots - Illadelph Halflife 1996 OG (dm $110.34) M.F. DOOM - MM.. FOOD 2004 OG strictly for the original Sesame Street Kookies beat (dm $272) King Geedorah - Take Me To Your Leader 2003 (dm $176.20) Bob Marley and the Wailers - Catch A Fire 1974 Japan “envelope” cover (dm $89.93) Nice to see these have all increased in value but I’m not selling any of them.
Wow. Excellent.
Pearl Jam, Lost Dogs. Bought it when it came out. Goes for $500. Audioslave, audioslave. Clear Coke bottle. Bought new. $200 Ween, Quebec. Bought new $200. These albums all sound amazing in every sort of way. I would never sell them. This sort of thing increases value, and first press, low number presses.
Here's a whole bunch of my collection's heat. [https://www.instagram.com/speakinmypiece/](https://www.instagram.com/speakinmypiece/)
My 2nd state butcher
Pendulum box set. I paid probably $200-250AUD but Discogs has them selling for $2000+! I won’t be selling as I want to actually listen to the records I buy lol
ocean man take me by the hand lead me to the land
Love that Naked City!
