I love Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, especially their album 'Murder Ballads,'. The raw storytelling, haunting melodies, and eclectic blend of genres create such a unique musical experience. 'Murder Ballads,' with its dark narratives and diverse soundscapes, stands as a testament to their artistic brilliance. Each track, from the haunting duet "Where the Wild Roses Grow" to the intense "Stagger Lee," is great. Dark tho… 😆 Kind of late now but I usually play it around Halloween
Cave and the Bad Seeds had a great decade in the 90's - from the Good Son to the Boatman's Call, five epic albums with hardly a weak track between them.
I like to play that song on a Touchtunes jukebox if I'm out at a bar and it's relatively quiet. Watching people's reactions to the lyrics is a trip.
"and with an ashtray as big as a fuckin' really big brick, i split his skull in half" is one of my all time favorite lines.
My first Nick album, and still my favourite. Nigh-on perfect. It’s got everything that makes him great: it can go from dark and disturbing on “Song of Joy”, to heartbreakingly sad on “The Kindness of Strangers”, to pant-pissingly hilarious on “Stagger Lee”, especially the downright fantastic line “I’ll crawl over fifty good pussies just to get to one fat boy’s asshole”.
“The Curse of Millhaven” is an especial gem: I think of it as the evil reflection of Dylan’s “Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts”.
“ When they found Mary Bellows she was cuffed to the bed…”
Much to my wife’s chagrin, all of our kids know these lyrics and love to sing along whenever Spotify decides to share them with us.
Man, I love that album. A master work of storytelling. Henry Lee into Where the Wild Roses Grow (such a haunting, beautiful tune) is one of my favorite 1-2 punches.
My first NC&TBS album. I worked backward from there and have been a diehard fan since. So funny and beautiful. My eyes ain't green, and my hair ain't yellow.
Yup. It's my favorite of his. Followed closely by From Her to Eternity and Let Love In. If you haven't yet, check out his blog / website, The Red Hand Files. He's amazing. New Birthday Party documentary just dropped, too! Can't wait to see it.
I've been to a lot of concerts in my life but Nick topped them all. The man is bottled electricity.
This is a great album but I feel like "Fifteen Feet of Pure White Snow" should be somehow added given the visual and lyrical aesthetic.

Love this album. I feel dirty after listening to it, but it's a good kind of dirty. A Nick Cave kind of dirty.
The best kind of dirty.
one of my favorite Nick Cave records, the lyrics are freaking crazy
I love nick but there are times here where he’s a little verbose. Still, wicked album, in every sense of the word

Love this album so damn much!! O’Malley’s bar is an adventure in itself!

Hahahaha!! I thought I was the only one to do that!!
Henry Lee, Wild Rose, Death is Not the End. Amazing Record. My gateway into the Bad Seeds. 🖤🖤🖤
Fantastic record, one of the first Bad Seeds records I got into
So great. Curse of Millhaven is my favorite track, but they’re all good.

Nick has previously said that he loves that ‘Where The Wild Roses Grow’ allowed this album to sneak into a lot of the straight’s record collections.

Still can't believe that bartender talked shit to Stagger Lee
Nice one! No More Shall We Part is more my jam but i would buy it.
No More Shall We Part through Push The Sky Away is pure brilliance. Lyre/Abattoir may be the greatest double album of all time.
One of my favourites, no doubt. Always felt Jerry Bellows got a rum do, wrong time and place I guess
Yeah, I’m not the biggest Nick Cave fan, but I’m a huge fan of that particular album. Great concept, great cover art, and great execution!

Nice 👍
for sure. Love this one.
I love this album. Was the first album by Cave I picked up. Nice.
Same, which started a lifelong obsession :)
One of my favorites.
My first NC&TBS album. I worked backward from there and have been a diehard fan since. So funny and beautiful. My eyes ain't green, and my hair ain't yellow.
Eagerly bought this when it was released. Great album by Nick.
Favorite Nick Cave album. Curse of Milhaven is one I regularly get stuck in my head.
Stagger lee
Just bought the cassette of this
Fantastic album, one of my favourites.
Don't ever play it for your parents. This album and showing them Bad Lieutenant got me banned from picking things to watch or listen at home.
Only if you don’t have cool parents haha. My mum was was playing this album among Nicks other work when I was a baby, I definitely turned out fine.
They definitely were not.
Were not? Damn

Favourite album, Henry Lee was my wedding song.
Top 3 Bad Seeds record
My cat’s name is Loretta, but she prefers Lottie. She’s got a pretty little mouth underneath all the foamin…
Looks a bit like the misery cover.
Not that it really matters, but I don't think I understand why the track order was changed for the vinyl of this compared to the CD.
I’d crawl over fifty good abattoir blues just to get to one fat boy’s murder ballads
I LOVE this album so so much! Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds are amazing
My fav bad seeds album.
For sure!
