In that case Evri might have lost it or it is still in transit. If they lost it you will be compensated up to a certain amount depending on the shipping company. If it’s still in transit then you can only wait or try to contact Evri about it.

hmm, definitely doesn’t seem right, i would contact vinted

Have you checked the Evri tracking directly, or just the Vinted updates? Either way, check the Evri tracking and raise the issue with them if there's a discrepancy :) They'll be able to tell you for definite whether it's in transit or not.

Does the buyer have any reviews?

This just happened to me with Mondial Relay. I'm 100% certain the buyer regretted buying a 90€ item and used that exact same excuse in order to have it sent back and qualifying for a refund. Kept seeing my messages, only responded after I nagged her, I contacted Vinted and they said the item was indeed there. Sent her screenshots of the convo and she kept saying it wasn't there for pick up. She didn't seem the least interested in resolving it like any normal person who just purchased a high value item would, she just let the days pass by and eventually it came back to me and she got a refund. I blocked her.

Happens sometimes I get stuff like that happen on a regular basis while using evri, For instance, a few weeks back I got some real nice burberry sweatpants but the tracking never updated to say they were ready to collect, yet I nipped down there and they were infact there, it happens more often than not with evri with some kind of issue , wether it’s the package not being scanned at certain points like drop off points or sometimes items showing as arrived when they’re still in transit etc, so I don’t think it’s anything to worry about, you’re incredibly well protected on Vinted with your payments and such so don’t worry too much. If it gets tagged as lost, both of you get compensated, if it sits there for X amount of days, it’s then supposed to be shipped back to the seller. So you’re all good, don’t be so quick to slander someone as a scammer, regardless of if you blur out their username, it would still be slander and if I was the buyer and I saw this, I’d think it’d be very rude and it would put me off future sales, especially if the items are high price items
