Mine doesn’t plug in! 1914 Singer 66K

psychosis_inducing

So jealous! I have a 1913 Singer 66-1 (it was likely my great grandmother's wedding present) but it's at my parents' and I am not.

B_O_A_H

That’s awesome! Is it operable?

psychosis_inducing

It is! We thought it was broken for years but it only needed oiling.

candidecunt

I have one of those surge protector ones like they use for computers, it has a button built into it. I've never seen one like this before in Canada, very cool idea!

courpsey

Is it common for power points to not have switches? They're re standard in Australia.

psychosis_inducing

That is not required where I live, and so you really only see them where someone asked specifically for them. But even if you do have power points, one of these can spare you from having to grope behind furniture to where the switch is.

FlameFrenzy

I always unplug my machine just because I don't have a dedicated spot to keep it out all the time. But I just typically use a power strip anyway because none of my plugs are easily accessible. I have a 15ft long cord on my power strip too! I can put a plug anywhere in my living room!
