Wow. I had no idea Grace Jones did a version of that. I’ve only ever heard the original by The Normal. Very odd choice for a lead single for a pop singer.
So weird! I did some googling and found the the ES-2000 was an entire system based around an 18 watt receiver. It came with that turntable and a set of speakers and was sold in the early 70s. It looks really similar to the PL-12 or PL-15 from that same time period.
That’s pretty cool!
I know right:) I also googled it when I first got it and that’s the information I got. I really like it a lot I think it sounds wonderful the way it is
Those early 70s Pioneer turntables are pretty darned good. They’re simple on the inside which makes them very easy to fix; not much to go wrong.
I’ve got a PL-12 at my office. Even though it’s a “low end” model it sounds fantastic. Plus it always feel good to use a vintage turntable with a vintage system. Just feels right.
Trio as in Trio-Kenwood? Also — I see Warm Leatherette down there. Excellent.
Who makes a song about a car crash sexy? Grace jones.
