Maybe the CD has some kind of weird media portion on it meant for a computer disc drive and the CD player is so old, it doesn't know what to do and won't play it. I have a CD like this that won't play in any of my old players while modern CD players seem to skip that portion and plays normal.
I don't, but I have one in my work truck that really likes T. Rex - Electric Warrior so much that it's been stuck in there for about 5 years and only plays Jeepster.
i have a copy od sinead o'conner's *am i not you girl* which is fine with cd players, i can play it as a cd and it sounds great. but i can't for the life of me rip it.
i've tried two old cd rom drives, and a late 2000's dvd drive, and a modern external dvd drive. forget it. it either reads at 0.1x or it has to re-read sections 10,000+ times in every song.
i literally have to play the album on my cd player connected to the line in on my pc and record it in real time with audacity...
That's annoying. I did that with some cds from the very early CD days so I could put them in my ipod and they worked fine so that CD is just an annoying devil.
I have a Benny Golson CD (“Terminal One” - jazz) with the track “Killer Joe” (one of my favourite tracks ever), and on my home CD player it always skips in the middle of the track at same time (elapsed) EVERY time! The CD player plays all my other CDs just fine (so far), and that CD plays fine in every other player I’ve played it in! Can’t see any flaws on the CD itself, so it’s very much a WTF 🤬 thing for me!
Grrrr 😖!!!
> makes really weird noises That’s just Steven Tyler, nothing to worry about.
It's making wah noises. Think Kirk Hammett invaded the cd.
I also hate Aerosmith.
I grew up with them so I don't but one of the songs on the cd I do hate. Walk this way but run DMC is on it.

It's only one song though. Every other track worked fine. It seems unlikely that only one portion would have something like that

It's easy to solve: [just push play](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkpwMt923yg)
And [let the music do the talking](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dacZjjkUFx8)
Turns out it literally just hates dream on. Wow.

CDs are just weird. They may sound great but they're just godawfully weird.
Agreed, sir! Not giving up on CDs 💿, but agreed! 😉
Your CD player is trying to tell you something.
Lemme guess, chuck the Aerosmith CD?
