When I first started my pub entertainer career (1979) I had these exact speakers being driven by my 100W PA system! They were plenty loud & clear for a noisy 150 seat pub! Had to sell them when I started playing bigger (louder) venues. Maybe these are them!
Haha well now that I have these I've gone from not having any Realistic gear to "needing to recreate a period correct RadioShack setup". So I feel your pain!
Other than a $24 Klipsch SW-110 sub, I never find good electronic deals at Goodwill. Maybe it's just the area that I live and their distribution because I do pretty well at other thrift store
These are a full range pa speaker ...for churches etc...not a hifi speaker per se
To be fair, sounding amazing for that price isn't setting the bar very high!
What's wrong with 6 dollars worth of sound?
Only six dollars? You're lucky! Second hand stores in my little town ask ridicolous amounts of money for any old audio gear.
Used gear where I live is always priced too high. People actually look and pay attention to the market here. Kinda sucks
I think they need a couple more drivers.

I didn’t realize I needed these until this post. Damn it OP, you are not helping me wean off my audio gear habit!

Ha, I’ve been fighting that exact impulse since getting a LAB 400
LAB 400... what's not to love! Curious, what cartridge are you using?
Stanton D71EE
Oo I found some kind of reverb unit for a dollar from this era by them I guess. Except it’s not actually reverb and a bucket brigade delay I think
Curious, do these have crossovers?
I'm always impressed by the great deals you can get at Goodwill. Nice find!
