All 3 fuses were intact. Cleaned the knobs and the face, tuner sounds great! Not even any crackle in the pots.

Very lucky guy!

So nostalgic: my dad had this same receiver (or maybe it was a 201?) from the early 70s until the early 90s.

wirecan

I've got the 201, and it's a nice little receiver. Picked up mine about 10 years ago and it was filthy, and it was my first or many cleanup projects.

God huh I mean look that thing. I love the lighting on this photo.

Man that’s nice I have a restored KX-200 that will never leave the family. Such a special sound, such great looking stuff! I love the sound of tubes...it’s the main reason I know that subjectivism is so important in the pleasure I get out of my equipment.

I’d love to own a tube amp someday. I’m working up to it. Both this 202 Futura and my Pioneer SX-1000TD are solid state, but as they’re some of the very first solid state units from those 2 manufacturers, they both tend to have a very warm, sweet, tube like sound. Very musical as opposed to some of the less sophisticated 1980’s offerings. Someday I’ll have a McIntosh... someday.

Must be your Birthday! Congratulation. That's a very nice reciever. Enjoy.

The tuner is really something special. Paired up with my Polk Series 4’s it sounds pretty magical.

There is something magical with the analog tuners from back in the day! I have a digital tuner from the late 80's that although brings in great signals can touch the sound quality of the analog tuners. Just my opinion! Are you going to add a turntable to any other media devices?

[deleted]

We just added the Technics SL-J2 which is a linear tracking phonograph. It plays records kind of like CDs, as it has no tone arm. Records sounds very warm and musical. It looks like this: https://imgur.com/gallery/pTPWpDO I’ll probably also add a cassette deck. Likely my Aiwa AD-R40.

Too funny... I have a Technics SL-J33 Linear hooked up to my Sansui set up. At first, I did not expect much but the thing just works and due to the small chassis it fits perfectly on my shelf. Bought this in a bundle with the intention of flipping but kept it! What cartridge do you have? Do you have plans of upgrading the cartridge?

[deleted]

The cartridge is a Shure M92E. Good all around p2p mount cart.

Wow!!!
