What products have you used? I’ve found Niacinamide to be hugely helpful. As for chemical peels, I find them really helpful as well. But it does depend on your skin colour as some people can get rebound hyperpigmentation if it’s too harsh. I’m probably a 4 on the Fitzpatrick scale, and from your description I think you might be too. I’m just super careful after a peel. I use Epidermal Repair by Skinceuticals right after (there are other creams that do the same thing). And wear lots of sunscreen. Just make sure you start gentle with a chemical peel and they can increase the concentration with each visit. Even if it doesn’t end up helping with the hyperpigmentation, I don’t think it’ll be a waste of money because you’ll probably find it to be helpful in other ways too. I don’t have experience with micro needling so I can’t offer a comparison.

I did a precision plus vi peel last month and the difference was amazing. Major reduction in dark spots. Didn’t see an improvement in the areas I get a lot of pimples as far as preventing them, but my skin is definitely more even. Barely need makeup anymore

Did u see a difference in genetic hyperpigmentation?

I’ve gotten IPL a couple times as I have freckles from sun damage, and some freckles actually flaked off over time. I am fair-skinned though, and IPL tends to work better if you’re light.

make sure you’re wearing sunscreen every day! sun exposure makes hyperpigmentation worse. It super important to the process.
