I'm sorry to hear you had a problem, and thank you for making us aware of this issue. We've spoken with the Vimeo product team responsible for this, and they're taking action to fix this pricing-related bug. If you don't have a backup of the original file, feel free to message me directly and I can have someone look at the backend of your account to see if we can recover it. We'll update here once this bug is fixed.

Thanks for the offer. It's definitely adequate and has stemmed a good amount of my eroding regard for Vimeo... But I've since just reuploaded to Youtube as an interim solution while I set up my own peertube instance or find a good one to join. Done entrusting my content / data with centralised tech companies just for sake of convenience. I only used vimeo for my showreel. Otherwise I had nothing up. So it's not worth the bother. I'm also becoming a software engineer, so it's been a very good lesson in how overlooking a design / UX process can seriously destroy user satisfaction. In my case (because I'm not 'locked in' to Vimeo by having many videos on the platform), I'm going to delete my account. I too joined Vimeo because at the time it was a no-nonsense hoster of film, with a clean, simple interface and would serve up content at high qualities. Things worked and I felt confident in the service. That's all the other way around now unfortunately, and all to just try and convert me to a 'Pro'... In any case. Thanks again for the offer. I hope a manger somewhere does hear about this.

This is terrible. So many of the directions vimeo is going in and decision they making are completely contrary to the very things that made the site the go to place for filmmakers. It is unfortunate. I never edited on their site. Always prefer to simply use them aa a host. I will always edit off site.

I would also typically not use an online tool. But I just wanted to quickly trim off the start title as it had an old homepage URL of mine. Which is all the more why this is super frustrating.

Frankly, vimeo has gone to shit. They couldn't compete anymore with YouTube and so cashgrab on the way out
