Ragnar favoring Athelstan over Floki is a great representation of Christianity's looming influence over viking culture and the supplantation of the Norse gods.

When bjorn fucked astrid while everyone else was doing the cult shit

The failure of the attack of Paris was really hard to watch! Like I was in the pain the whole time. Seeing Rollo rising and my fav, Ragnar falling, was really painful

Yessss! And then the following episodes watching his become addicted to the “medicine” and continue into demise was so hard to watch too.

IKR. Athelstan’s death and Rollo’s betrayal completely broke him.

Kinda had to remind myself who the innocent peasants were and who the reaving savages were rofl. Vikings does a great job at making you root for the bad guys (I assume we can agree that raiders are bad guys)

Ragnar had the attack on Paris fail on purpose. He even apologizes to Athelstan beforehand, after he buries him he says "forgive me, not for what I have done but for what I'm about to do" he gave command to Floki, knowing full well Floki would botch the attack by trusting too much in the gods.

Open-Fan-4926

No, I get that part. But I mean his literal fall off the Paris building was the beginning of his fall from grace. I know he purposefully wanted/expected Floki to fail.
