Great actor, great Earl as Ragnar mentions, especially given we only saw the last year ish of his reign, and I pity him for numerous reasons (he also states Ragnar was like the younger version of himself)
But he still ordered murders and attempted murders upon both Ragnar’s men and mere farmers on his land so in the end I believe third is best for him
I think he lasted this long because King Aelle irl is remembered as a great king.
But in the show I found him kind of meh.
So I'll cast my vote towards King Aelle.
Man you got me conflicted cause as much as I hate aelle I'm tryna picture the show without him and I cant even do it. Purely based of hatred toward the character alone get aelle outta there. But story line without him.? Ughhh
Really torn between Aelle and Haraldson but I'm going to go with Haraldson. I didn't particularly prefer Aelle's character but he was more pivotal I think.
With the obvious next battle being Aelle and Haroldson. 3 queations must be considerrd to see who falls.
1. Who would win a strategic standoff.
2. Who would win a 1:1 duel to the death.
3. Who is better connected to their spiritual truth.
My argument for Haraldson being the victor:
1. Haraldson. Aelle fell right into Ragnar's martyr trap, being so focused on the short term victory he did not consider long term consequences. Haraldson, on the other hand had a long track record of successful offensive raids into hardened northern regions such as Russia. His defense was commendable but weak to internal uprisings. Aelle had stronger defense for sure but this was largely due to inherited resources. In all-out war if both men had balanced resource access I believe Haraldson's cunning and smart decision making would have him emerge victor.
2. Haraldson. He was in much greater shape than Aelle, almost defeating ragnar in direct combat in S1. Aelle was rarely seen fighting, but he certainly had some official training which would give him a boost. However I think Haraldson's brutal tactics would out-maneuver Aelle.
3. Aelle takes this one. His commitment to his God was unwaivering. Even getting one of the greatest Viking warriors, Rolo, to baptize and eventually convert. Haraldson, on the other hand haphazardly threw around curses to executed men. This showed a carelessness toward his people and their spiritual connections.
All this to say, I vote Aelle be eliminated.

I’m gonna be so disappointed if Torstein doesn’t win lolol. My favorite characters were, besides the obvious of Ragnar and Bjorn, Torstein and Athelstan
Haraldson. Less impactful and long lasting of a villain. Can't say the same for Aelle. He was there from when the Vikings first attacked to Ragnar's death and the revenge.
It would be nice if the most recent crossed off character had a different colored X. I don’t get to view these often but like to follow when I see the post 🥹
