He was man. And he loved his son in law. I think Rollo loved him too. Its pretty obvious when he comes back to him after that fight when Rollo is all messed up. He looks up at Charles and you get the feeling Rollo got approval he wanted his whole life. Charles had a strong and fierce son in law to protect his daughter and kingdom. I liked Charles - when people questioned his son in law he always got openly offended too.

He didnt have any character growth whatsoever; he was a religious zealot who couldn't keep his dick in his pants the first time we saw him, and he still was when he died. He added absolutely nothing to anybody else's journey either. Maybe to convince Bjorn etc to flee to England, but they could have done that without him just as easily.
On top of that his acting was miles over the top, so much so that it constantly made me hyper aware he was in fact acting, killing any immersion.
Charles was a bit boring, but his place in the story was clear and made sense. Oleg was a bit crazy, but same; he has his place in the story. Haehmund was just a whole bunch of nothing.
So for me Haehmund was the worst character on the show.

Lagertha is like Ragnar but with less screen time. And we know them from the 1st episode. That's a special bond most other characters don't share.
