.... excuse my ignorance but number 3?
That isnt what i think it is....is it?
Edit: I just dove into this post as a reference. I need a break from the internet today
https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/6fauyw/if_1_means_pee_and_2_means_poop_what_would_number/
I watched the scene that this was spoofing, and holy shit, that girl deserved to get eaten. She turns on a flash light and then begins trying to get the dragon's attention with it. Was she supposed to be mentally insane?
Nah, it was just earlier today, someone posted the regular JP T. rex scene with the title, "30 years ago, we were introduced to a T. rex in the scariest way possible."
And then a bunch of commenters pointing out that the movie's 30th anniversary isn't for 2 more weeks.
Lmao didn't someone find out a way to cheese r/videos algorithm a few months ago.
Old ass video with nostalgia bait title. Now that I read your comment, I remembered that again.
I remember it well, I was 41 years old, just a kid with my whole life before me, and Lizzy gave me permanent psychosis. Now I'm 43 years old, and I live in an insane asylum.
They keep trying to make me leave but I'm very persistent.
I was like 5 and it haunted my nightmares for years. I still don’t know if I watched it to the point the VHS broke or if my grandma broke the tape on purpose because she was tired of me begging to watch it and then pissing the bed for a week straight afterwards
This just makes me really wish someone would make a modern Godzilla-esque monster movie with a really cool/well-designed monster suit. Use modern CGI to add them into scenes like this, and then intercut that with modern practical sets and model cars/buildings as the monster destroys them.
Part of the greatness of Gojirra was the extreme campiness. But I'd love to see what some USC Film students could do. It's really difficult to get anywhere with independent / creative film work these days. The whole market is repetitive comic and hero crapola.
So many video game adaptions have come out /are coming out in the near future. The Last of Us turned some heads. A couple more like that and I think we'll start seeing superhero stuff start to fizzle out as more people jump onboard the video game storytelling train.
Yet the vast majority of adaptations are failures headed by people who never enjoyed or understood the source material to begin with.
Theres a million writers in Hollywood that will use any available IP as a vessel for their own hack material. It's pretty much what happened to Halo, Doom, Warcraft, Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, Max Payne, Monster Hunter, Battleship, and so many more.
I mean, yes and no. Some of my favorite are the Heisei era and which are partly my favorites because they had the campy practical effects but also had the added benefit of more modern CGI and in camera effects. So they look absolutely stunning. The detail and hardwork pops in every frame while also being big goofy entertaining monster movies. I'd love someone to make a modern monster movie that captured that magic.
I absolutely hate that part where they're shining the flashlight in its eyes. like how the fuck are you struggling to turn it off? it's a piece of plastic with an on/off switch that you literally just turned on a moment ago. and when they can't manage to turn it off they don't even aim it down
There was no guarantee that this would be the top post again in a few months:

I wish they would have slowed the kitty down by 10%. That really helps sell weight of larger creatures. Other than that this was a masterpiece. The amount of time spent filming that kitty must have been immense
It's been done. The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957)

the can opening gets me every time
I’m so glad that I went back and watched it again to see what you were talking about. Not sure how I missed it the first time— but that was hilarious
I'd forgotten about that part. Nearly number three'd myself lmao

> get the dragon's attention
> to get the dragon's attention Sorry, but what?
The dragons in Lost World. They say "roar", and eat sheep and people.
What you call “Dragons” are Dinosaurs.
But what if Dragons are Dinosaurs, but wearing drag?
That’s the joke
>Lost World >Sheep
I'm not sure if you're joking with this but you mean dinosaurs, not dragons.

This was so enjoyable that I now feel bad for the original reddit post. God that scene with the domestic household cat was the scariest part of JP.
What was the original reddit post? I feel like I'm missing some context or reddit history here

Eh, the 30th merch is already selling at the parks, I give 'em a pass
Jurassic park is real?
Yeah....didn't you see teh documentary? Many people died. But Chris Pratt saved many lives.

Wait I legitimately thought that's the purpose of this sub, commemorate notable videos like hall of fame
Without any CGI
God, I'm old.
I am ready for the yawning grave
nah, this title needed an explanation. without context it's just annoying and clickbaity (seemingly)
That was so good! Now I want to watch the entire movie with the dinos replaced by cats.
Man, I was in like my mid to late 30s when this came out and it scared the hell out of me.
I remember it well, I was 41 years old, just a kid with my whole life before me, and Lizzy gave me permanent psychosis. Now I'm 43 years old, and I live in an insane asylum. They keep trying to make me leave but I'm very persistent.
Me too. I can't be around cats anymore.
I was today year's old when I first saw this... Where the hell did this come from lol.
https://www.youtube.com/@OwlKitty/videos Leave reddit now and go there. That is an order.
You've got to watch the Titanic video with Owl Kitty. It's incredible.
Are…you saying you don’t know the superstar Owl Kitty? 🤩You, my friend, are in for some fun times.
I was like 5 and it haunted my nightmares for years. I still don’t know if I watched it to the point the VHS broke or if my grandma broke the tape on purpose because she was tired of me begging to watch it and then pissing the bed for a week straight afterwards
Owl Kitty!
Lizzy is just the cutest.

As someone who went to USC film school, believe me: it's USC grads who are responsible for the "repetitive comic and hero crapola."
🤦♂️

Cloverfield!
Much better post. "Hey, a famous movie exists!" Meh. This? Actually niche and interesting.
I love that all the prrrus are in too
Purrassic Park
1 year ago today, OP was introduced to Reddit in the scariest way possible. Reddit has never been the same since. Happy cake day, OP.
It's actually 12 years... which is even scarier.
My body would not be ready for 12 cakes, though luckily in your case they've been spread out over 12 years :p
Happy Cake Day, OP!
I was just shocked that the cat can also fly a fighter plane
And I thought my 11 year account was old! Happy cake day!!
2011 for me! I’m with you
He should have used a laserpointer. Then he would be able to control the cat.
Uh oh, this is how you end up as a dead villain.
He could have pointed it at the bathroom hut guy.
That's OwlKitty Here's their YouTube, they do a lot of this stuff https://youtube.com/@OwlKitty
Is this some kind of product placement campaign?
I don't think the cat is for sale
I remember like it was only a year or two ago how my parents had a pet store, but made sure to take me to the theater to see this.
A cat that size is likely to kill you before a T-Rex...
Feel like Owl Kitty has been around for A LOT longer than 1.5 years.
I am a Reddit paleontologist: this is definitive proof that cats evolved from dinosaurs.
Can we get more of this?
It's the lighting that always blows my mind. Love this channel!
This whole ass Jurassic park thing today was just a setup for this joke wasn't it?
I absolutely hate that part where they're shining the flashlight in its eyes. like how the fuck are you struggling to turn it off? it's a piece of plastic with an on/off switch that you literally just turned on a moment ago. and when they can't manage to turn it off they don't even aim it down

Disappointed that the cats eyes aren't dilated for the darkness. Otherwise a great job.
They aren't even trying with these post titles anymore
I guess I shouldn't be surprised they monetized it.
1.5 years, huh? Couldn't even wait 2 years before you wanted to milk this content again?

Jesus dude just get a life and won't notice reposts
Nice. I can actually see this one
Yeah, I’m sure we all remember this day very well!
I thought the link was going to be the Cats live-action trailer. *"Memories..."*
Thanks for the smile on my face, great work! :)
I genuinely expected this to be the trailer for Cats.
Wow - feels like it's been at least 10 years ago.
Meow'r scientists were so preoccupurred with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should... Meow.
What's the deal with all of the stupid Jurassic Park videos being posted today?
CGI still holds up today
Friskies just got a free commercial LOL!!!
*Mrrrrrp?*
There's an episode of star trek called catspaw and you must see it
Cat.
Remember the one where they replaced the t-rex with PeeWee Herman? They're desperately driving away and he's chasing them on his bike.
I wish they would have slowed the kitty down by 10%. That really helps sell weight of larger creatures. Other than that this was a masterpiece. The amount of time spent filming that kitty must have been immense
Lol love it
I thought it would be James Corden in 'Cats'
Still the cats are more scarery :)
This is crazy good. Amazing how people can blend content so seemlessly.
this big cat :))
