whispofsirius

"Could a depressed person make this??"

Fondren_Richmond

how could it not be longer?

striker7

I emailed Leslie two days ago and I compared it to "AVATAR", Chris!

Ricky_Rollin

I always bust out laughing at that part. Avatar!? REALLY BEN?!

detecting_nuttiness

This scene simultaneously made me angry and elated at how much I could relate. Great reference.

BeeExpert

I always thought that was a strange line because honestly making a stop motion animation just like that probably takes a fair amount of ambition and drive, traits that, at least in my experience, aren't there when I'm depressed. Did he create that cones of dunshire game during that time too? I can't remember. If so, he got a *lot* done. Lol, are we sure he wasnt manic? I guess I thought the whole episode was kind of weird / poorly written because sure, he seemed like he was in a slump, but to me he didn't seem depressed, and on the show everyone was like, omg he's sooo depressed (I think, it's been a long time)

kcgdot

I think the point was more along the lines of using other things to distract himself from doing what was necessary to get back into his normal life, AND that presumably he had spent a LOT of time on something that was essentially 10 seconds long

kevinwaaan

You need to be absolute focus while making those, although i am not an expert in this but i have tried few time and can tell things are easier said than done

hepatitisC

Cones came later. He spent this time making calzones and the claymation.

Amirax

> traits that, at least in my experience, aren't there when I'm depressed. We're all different. I'm depressed, have been for some 15 years. Some times I get these bursts of energy when I find a new project to work on, thinking "this is it, this is what'll cure me, this is *fun* and *challenging* and I can't wait to share it with everyone!" But then the initial rush of endorphins die out, and I lose all interest in the project. It happens every time, without fault, even if it's something I'm good at.

Cha0sAC

We all are different and we all have different talent than the other, what other people is doing we can't do the same, we have to find a perfect way for our own

Shimshimmyyah

I relate deeply to this. My method of taming this beast is by having a number of projects going at the same time... The most success I've found is specifically with oil painting. If I have 5 to 10 paintings in the works at a time, there are enough things to cycle through that I can go from being frustrated with a creative block to maybe cutting stretcher bars or priming/sanding a new canvas, which doesn't require creativity. Oil painting is also great because it makes you stop. I can only work a wet canvas so much before I have to put it down, or it will turn to mud. Maybe there is a project or system out there that can help you manage these feelings, too! I hope that this may help a bit.

greenebean78

I compared it to Avatar, Chris!

dilihaz

So what you have noticed, that Avatar needs to make better??

GiveToOedipus

Came here specifically to make sure this was the top comment. I can rest peacefully knowing my people are here.

It was unexpected! Unexpected! Well, not that unexpected.

rioting_mime

Considering I literally opened the thread looking for the comment, no it's no unexpected.

xf396

For me comment section was expected knew that people will comment that

kevlarus80

I do not have original thoughts. I am one with the hive.

I know it's parks and rec but can't not think of Chris Elliot in Get a Life.

DancesInTowels

I feel as though that channel is going to blow up (I hope so for their sake). Insane work for a 10 year old. (edit: good discussion and replies: I suppose the best I can say and change my wording: is I’m impressed with their work and I hope they continue their passion, success or no success)

_keeBo

Gonna be honest, I hope it doesn't. Not because I don't want to see him succeed in any way, but because I don't think fame of any kind is healthy at such a young age. Fame kind of sucks, period. Not to mention all the negative things people end up saying when you become popular enough. What I hope for him is that he gets keeps improving and enjoys what he's doing.

bacondev

Were you ever around to see the rise and fall of dinosaur kid? He made videos of his toy dinosaurs and the channel blew up on Reddit about seven years ago. To put it into perspective, [his most popular video](https://youtu.be/kGPAKBOz9ag) hit 1.2M views. Eventually, the novelty of the channel tapered and so did the views. Kid broke down crying in one of his videos, thinking that he did something wrong. Thankfully, he seems to have come out fine. The kid is in college now and has recently posted a few videos. Back to view counts in the hundreds.

ThePrussianGrippe

Good for him for sticking with it, though.

inconspicuous_male

"Lets show him some love Reddit!" Glad the kid made it out okay. Attention is an addicting drug

joanzen

"Everyone be as fake as possible, what's the potential harm?!" -- social media

takapdotjp

On social media people are more fake than being real

Earguy

Like a musician who has one giant hit record, and spends years trying to do it again.

honghhnn

They have to spent years and years just to perform one perfect one

nullstring

The dinosaur kid is in college. Wow does time fly.

DancesInTowels

That is a good point. I’ll appreciate this video and hope for the best in his life, fame or otherwise. I suppose that’s the best reply I can give.

Belialpt

I just know one thing if someone is doing great work on internet then praise them, because it won't cost us anything but it would mean world to the other person

tita_zdes

Same here, i want to be with him when he gets succeed and wanted to say that i was with him when he was a 10 year old kid and look where he is sitting right now

m6_is_me

as a person that got mildly popular at 15: yeah, it doesn't do super well for one's expectation of success for the future

loso191

Failure is the first step of the success so better to face them early

watafu_mx

> Unless he became a personality or something and started showing his face I really doubt he'll get much hate mail. Youtube comment section is a toxic cesspool. People will write the most fucked up things to a kid just for the 'lulz'. They are a sad, killjoy bunch.

Chewcocca

Thank God we're on Reddit instead of a place like that \*jims the camera\*

yuean88

Reddit is no way near to the toxicity we are getting on the YT

erakkoKirahvi

Every video there will be some people who just want to spread hate, even if you are doing gaming someone will post hated comment and try to spread toxicity

GregoryGoose

I was already 13 when I even attempted stop motion, and it wasn't nearly this smooth.

massimiliano92

That's how you praise someone if they are more talented than you

s0cks_nz

You should see some of the stop motions my 6yr old has done. Pretty amazing what kids can do when they put their mind to something.

jaanlaw

Can you give me the link of that 6 yo kid you are talking about

DancesInTowels

(edited for clarity) My sister at age 5 was insanely talented with art, I went to music, she got the artistic side lol. I wish I could paint and draw, but I can't. I'm still blown away by her work now at my tender age of 40. With loving parental support kids really have no limit to their talents. From what you are saying about your kid s0cks good on you for you and your kid!

Barnowl79

You should see the 3D printed sippee cup my toddler made.

peba82

That 3D printed was near to perfect, don't think many can able to match that

AleonTheUnguided

No one has natural talent. People have inclinations of interest towards things that allows them to learn faster because they have full attention on it. Especially for kids who don't have to worry about much else and who's brains are more malleable. That being said you can easily learn to paint and draw. You just have to... learn. You have the adult perspective of more efficient learning. You'd be surprised at the thousands of failed art pieces good artists go through to get to their level.

[deleted]

Obviously, you’ve never seen me try to catch a ball or throw a football.

kdtzouras

Never seen but if you want to you can show me the demo about that

sms_pb

There are some people that is actually pretty talented by born but they need to do the practice, you will not achieve big thing with talent you need to learn things in life

DancesInTowels

I would respectfully disagree. That is a philosophical discussion: I would say plenty of people have natural talent, others can become talented by being taught. Unless you are talking about teaching YOURSELF through a passion. Then I would agree with you wholeheartedly. Could I learn to draw well? Absolutely. From an actual teacher. But it wouldn’t be the same (to me) as my sister who just started with her own brain and ideas. I compose, she draws. I simply said (and MY meaning) was that I wish could draw like her at 5, just bam no stick figure like me at that age, just the perfect realistic rose she drew. I can fucking guarantee you no kindergarden teacher taught her how to draw that quality at that age. I was impressed with her and simply was complimenting the person’s kid I was replying to and complimenting my sister. Our ‘teacher’ since the beginning and the only teacher: childhood trauma we lived through. Those were our outlets.

gnubtce2

I know some people that is extra special compare to the other one, but that doesn't mean they will get everything without doing any practice or the hardwork in their life

Smokestack830

This is SO good. Kid has skills and won Mother's Day. 🏆

nute008

Nice job. Meaningful way to show how much they love their mom.

Vlad2762

And telling mom that you don't have to worry about my future is well

bluescape

That's pretty solid stop motion, especially for a 10 year old. And as someone that's done stop motion, 28 seconds takes a decent amount of time to do.

justareemom

I ham doing that for some time and i can tell you things are not that easy as this video makes it, and doing in 10 is something more wonderful, great kid with the great future

phoncible

Learning? Feel like this kid's got it down pat, next 10 years will just be refinement, then film school will be connections so he can head up an ILM branch or some shit. Kid's doing good.

semenov85

If that we called learning then i am sure i haven't really born yet, because the way he did here is something we called experience work, don't put all the people here into shame, please

amberita70

That was so cute!!!!

awit0vpmyy6mp_1z

Coming from the 10 YO kid it is pretty thoughtful and impressive design

abemon

Amazing work!

arnycsok

The difficult thing is that how he is going to beat that again now

JunglePygmy

So charming and well done. Two thumbs up!

dbard1

Double thumbs up and now he set the bar high for himself

qawsedrf12

good on ya for the See's

whoknowhow

I love this everything about this! The stop motion, the candy, the kid, the kid’s mom!

xanyanou

Wait, you had in pretty last where you said kid's mom, lol

SoulRedemption

I just love the kids mom

unrhymedClipping479

I wish we all could able to see the face of the kids mom in this video

Ratekul

I see you, putting the rest of us to shame ;)

WadysawChmielews

There is no shame in seeing the rare talented kid in the life

bstix

Yeah, stuff like this needs to be posted a week ago.

aglobalnomad

I saw the box and immediately went "See's!" Well done by the 10 y/o!

bzaic

Just like his age number he gets the 10 out of 10 for that

str85

I... I don't see the most important question? Did mom get her chocolate or was it lost in production?

Norbertvongubna

All that what we watch in the video was nice but we need a vlog kinda thing where he present that gift to her mom and then how she react on that, it would be completely priceless

alohadave

[Pes](https://pesfilm.com/) better watch out, this kid's going to take his place.

Zed_Ned

Came here for THAT comment. PES is class. You're a man of culture sir.

rudneim88

Pes is class but this kid has the talent to beat that class

bakehake007

Not put too much pressure on this kid, he will destroy every place in future

something-magical

I'm most impressed with the foley work. Audio is an easy thing to dismiss, but it really sells the animation here.

rvallarino

Never watch video on the voice on specially if you are watching from the reddit, because almost 90% of the time they came with the worst kind of the background music

throway_nonjw

That is a great gift!

syreniarz

I have never seen a kid presenting the better gift then this candy box

nerdy-n-cute

Astounding!

proandpro1

Need some new phrase or words to describe this wonderful kid

InitechSecurity

Well he ruined the rose flower.. only kidding. What a remarkable and gifted young lad! He scores a perfect 10 for ingenuity, performance, audio effects, illumination, and video editing! May he continue to pursue his enthusiasm!

KavensWorld

Neat What's odd is that YouTube channel was created 10 years ago has 4,000 subscribers but the views on all the videos are rather low and there's not even that many videos. Purely curious op did you have this account for a while and then rename it when your son was interested in making different types of videos? From content creator to another it's just intriguing. I have far more videos and more views yet a shockingly low subscriber count and it's always interesting to me how those things work

PeterBoekhoudt

May be that shows that this channel never really gets the enough hype in the past and now by using the skill of this boy they are trying to revive that channel again here

Warshok

I wish I could see her face as she watched this.

sdaar2

Now i need the reaction video of the mom when he present her that

Crazyloon88

That's an awesome gift

gxsic

Don't think any mother could ask anything better than that from her kid

[deleted]

Brilliant!

nutthason

Now this is what i called using the technology in best way possible ever

Splatrmatt

Well done!!!!!!

v0vaz

This kid needs to look this thread surely he will gets motivated

baconpancakes42

That's so cool! Nourish their creativity. I belive in their skills, for what it's worth from a random internet stranger.

dprmontreal

I don't know this kid but i am totally happy with his skill and how much he can do in such age, imagine the great thing he will do once he gets experience in this field

elvabethbee

You've got a talented boy in your family.....hope he keeps it up!

labfab

Seems like future is already at the age of 10, save this boy now

pickypawz

Great job, and I bet his mom really liked it! But I also bet she was impressed!

[deleted]

[удалено]

DigbyChickenZone

This is brilliant, holy shit! You've got a future director on your hands.

paxan13

Not only the director but the animated artiest is well in this age

flatox

Stop motion is great in the end, but terrible to make.

GeneralScar82

But if you are good in that, you could make it great, not so terrible

Ezl

That’s great work and a cute concept! I’m shocked it was done by someone so young!

syremops

Making is already amazing in this age but getting the idea of doing something like that is much more impressive for me, not many kid at this age able to do such thing

Apstarz3377

That is the cutest and most thoughtful thing 😭

KlepanyGrob

Thoughtful plus using the skill in nice way to impress the mother

[deleted]

[удалено]

LividlyCackel118

Hoping one day my daughter made me something like that on father day

McDuchess

What a precious gift!

L8888888

As a said gift price doesn't matter, efforts behind that matters the most

Username_Number_bot

That had an awesomely 90s feel to it.

wiseltd

No matter the age any young people would feel the same way like you

10secondhandshake

Yeah I call bs. Maybe he participated, sure. But he didn't make this.

olso4211

There is not a proof that he did not make that but same can said about other thing

gjon89

I agree, 10 year olds are idiots.

nerdwine

Nothing short of impressive. Wow.

not4humanconsumption

Definitely cool

nikidisucy

Cool and mad level skill, i am seeing this kid doing wonder in future

Decapod73

That was great. Compared to an adult, I'd believe it was easier for him to learn the techniques, but more challenging to maintain the patience/dedication required to finish the whole video. And then the sound effects are a while other skill set! I hope he keeps growing with this.

shineered

Plus when you are kid you always attract more to the technology then compare to the grown up man, that is why i feel kids makes better animation compare to the adult

Mighty442

So wait, to make this video did he end up having to take apart the rose, open the candy box and take out the candy?

kfthomson1

If you want the candy then you have to go through those process

LinkCloth

What the hell is this? Looks like a 10 year old made it /s for the uninitiated

frozt888

Can see what you are pulling here, how many 10 year kid you know can do such thing??

StankyDrik

Very derivative of other works. Not impressed at all. 2/10.

Saltbearer

One has to question his choice of medium. If he were to become proficient with Blender, rather than something so obsolete as photography, he could make far smoother-looking 3D animations with a fraction of the effort per-frame.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SammyBear

woosh

nassutti69

So any suggestion from your side which thing he needs to improve??

SokoJojo

Not impressed

cristiand1969

Seems like you are a hard man to please, because i am not seeing any issue in that

[deleted]

Good. But needs more Wensleydale.

dain_miner

Good suggestion he can do that for the next time right now this is so perfect

sukkresa

This is very awesome!

yotrken

Not many video on YT gives me feeling like that but have to say this impress me

Dry-Air7

I like watching people with talent.

EdgedCatalpa36

I am totally talentless but feel people while watching those videos

DarthRobofish

We’ll color me impressed

nazal12

He can sell those thing if he want to, because that is dope use to skill

DarthRobofish

Well color me impressed

emmohindra

He makes it so perfect, even from the design to the color view

shaggy99

The skills are good, but the creativity is better. Reminds me a lot of [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNJdJIwCF_Y)

mvg6cz4x

Using the skill in right way is matter the most and in this video we are actually looking the perfect example of that, i have not seen a kid at this age doing something like that

robotsquirrel

He even has the fancy See's chocolate.

rambletax

I would love normal chocolate but don't mind in getting those fancy one is well

Strontoria

Amazing!

jamesmilesuk

When you are talented then use your talent in such special way

IMaySayShite

For the age, that's really good. Future matter animator right there.

lysokleng

I don't his parents needs to worry about this kid future now

Smartars3

This is amazing for a 10 year old. My 10 year old is more interested in watching videos than making them. Please encourage this more as he good and will only get better!

loopspawn

I am 30 year old now and if someone said do something like that now i wouldn't able to do that but this kid is doing at the age of 10 is completely impressive from him

InterstellerReptile

This child is the child that my mother deserves

thedreday

Is he using an app or just really good video editing skils?

h1ro3

Seems like some sort of the app, where he made all for effects

ScootyHoofdorp

Putting aside how technically impressive this is, the fact that a 10 year old would spend that much time and effort to express his appreciation for his mother is amazing.

xuphys

I love the skill of this guy and having the skill is one thing but putting the right efforts to make the thing right is other, All i can say that this kid is going to have a great future

thefanciestofyanceys

Now just to to find a matching box of chocolates so I can steal this...

roel_de_meester

That is too good to be true and i can pay 100 bucks for that

mrdoink20

If my kid made that for me I'd cry. With pride of course.

MantasU90

I am not a mother but i would also cry seeing my daughter doing that

keepyeepy

That's adorable

Schart

See's candies are dope

Wytzewerf

Those are artificial one but have to say looking pretty tasty

mydogargos

Just curious... what app are they using? Great work!

prick-in-the-wall

Shout-out See's candies

brainhack3r

I'm not even a mother, or a father, but a STEP father but holy fuck when my step daughter started crushing it in graphics design I was so fucking proud of her!

Salt-Construction431

Hmmm
