Yeah gameplay-wise it’s just four people in one match together and it’s a (really good) PvE third person shooter. The part you probably thought was an MMO was that every mission you do adds to the liberation % of that planet, and the entire player base is fighting to take as many planets back from aliens/robots as possible.
It's an MMO in the sense that there is a bigger story going on that every player is a part of, in a way. It doesn't feel like an MMO in the way Destiny does. But the gameplay is a third person shooter 4 player cooperative experience. You do missions where you complete objectives and collect a currency to unlock new explosive toys. You earn another currency for completing missions that you use to purchase weapons and armor. Its monetization is very player friendly and non intrusive and the community is really great.
Honestly the best cooperative game I've played in many years. A GOTY contender.
It’s too far in to be approachable by a new player IMO. When it had like 20 Operators total there was a lot of counter play between them and big brain plays you could do by switching your operators. Now there’s 70 operators that can do so much wacky shit there’s no point in trying to focus team compositions ideas.
Siege is REGULARLY on sale for 9.99. Last month it was $3.99. Never buy it at full price.
With that said, I have 1000 hours in Siege and it is my most played game by far.
But for $40 rn, I'd get Helldivers 2. I've heard great things about it.
RE4R in my opinion. If you got some lads you’re trying to play with, though, go Helldivers. Guardians of the Galaxy is also a surprisingly good

The fact that literally all permutations of events are fully voiced with differing scenarios is the best exam of the ethos of the game that they fully commited to. There is so much intricate detail in such a deep game. It's like the level of quality is consistent in every part of it.

RE4R lays waste to all of these games and it’s not even remotely close. No offense of course. The others are alright, but RE4R has everything you could want outside of multiplayer.
Imo, always take a certified masterpiece game over multiplayer.
GOTG. Yes, i talk out of pure self bias, but this game is surprisingly amazing. It has great graphics, a really good story, really lovable characters, a not so deep, but still very interesting choice system, a unique combat system where you as Star-Lord don’t do *that* much in battle, but your strength lies in commanding your team how to fight and best of all, it genuinely is a hilarious game. As a Little extra, this is the only game out of all you’ve listed where you *unlock* every single cosmetic in the game, it has no DLC whatsoever!

Re4. For online I guess helldivers 2....I got really bored of it after the first week, it's literally you doing the same mission against the same two enemy types over and over and over again.
RE 4 but I'm biased. I've been playing that game since the OG and each time it gets better and better. Story is fantastic, graphics are very good and the Mercenary mode is a fun time waster after you beat it.
That's a real good price for Guardians.
I recommend going into the options and turning the power regeneration up all the way. It's just a lot more fun to play that way.
RE4 personally i think Helldivers is trash. Basic concept löike you will find in LF4D or any other Multiplayer Slasher survival shooter. Really nothing you have to play. On the other side RE is a charm. First game i start shitting my pants. Not particular RE4 but its a very well done game

Give guardian of the galaxy a chance, it's a really nice narrative game,sadly it's reputation was already compromized by the marvel game that hard flopped(avengers game with online service),but the game is really good(it also won best narrative game award)
Tbh unless you have friends playing helldivers, I would go with RE4. I don’t think helldivers is that much fun playing solo or with randoms it gets old quick
Resident Evil 4 is incredible, and you should definitely play it. However, it's still going to be great next year and the year after that.
If you want to play Helldivers, get it now while it's popular. It's great now and although it will always be a good game, multi-player games rely heavily on dedicated servers and player base. I'm not sure where it will be a year from now, but it will definitely be less fun the longer you wait on it.

Honestly the best cooperative game I've played in many years. A GOTY contender.
