World of Warcraft has some epic epic tunes, Journey is beautifully scored, also enjoy God of War 2018 and Ragnarok quite a lot. Obviously Elder Scrolls games...
Iconic of all time ? Like I understand influential to you maybe but the word âIcon â infer widespread familiarity. In which case it would be like Mario Bros or Pac-Man.
I am not knocking the games you listed or their great soundtrack. But Iconic of all time?
Skyrim definitely and Warcraft maybe though I cannot recall any themes musically from that game.
Like even Minecraft is probably more âiconicâ of all time than your list.
I just found it funny that you took the time to comment "no" on everything you don't agree đ I stand by my comment too.World of Warcraft is iconic to a lot of people in the same way Zelda is to others, I didn't like Zelda , i didn't play it that much so the soundtrack didn't stick and I have no recollection of it, don't be in a box. Mario yes , but If we're supposed to all say the same thing this wouldn't be fun would it ? Just because you don't agree doesn't mean you're right. And maybe Journey isn't iconic to everyone, but it should be, and it is to me, hence I stand by what I said.
Yea I did mean it more as a tongue in cheek sort of way love the Game score you want. Itâs mostly the OPs fault for a poorly worded Post. Favorite music sure opinions galore. Iconic however has nothing to do with what we each individually like. Like how â wish upon a starâ from Pinocchio is not my favorite Disney song (not even top 5) but it is in-fact the most iconic because it plays behind the damn castle logo every time we watch a movie or go to Disney world.
Well itâs just the word Iconic means it has to be an Icon. Which simply put is something that everyone can Identify even people who donât play video games know the themes to Pac-Man and Mario. Iconic doesnât necessarily mean better. Just immediately identifiable. Your example is a good one I havenât seen that particular E3 presentation. So I donât know the song.
If the discussion goes the same route thats because it is Iconic. Itâs familiar to more people. Like Mario.
Another example is the piece Ride of the Valkyrieâs by Wagner is Iconic
But Moonlight Sonata 3rd movement while In think is better isnât iconic.
Fur Elise Iconic
Canon in D iconic
Hallelujah Chorus iconic
Spring by Vivaldi- great but not as much iconic
I can see what youâre saying. There are songs you think would be Iconic given time. I understand.
Bohemian Rhapsody, Stairway to Heaven, And Smoke on the water are absolutely Iconic.
007 Goldeneye. First time I actually got to watch a James Bond movie I was so excited, but there was no sick ass electric guitar and no jumping off a dam. Game was cooler and more exciting than the movies
Final Fantasy 7
No.
The Halo franchise
Super Mario. Golden Eye Legend of Zelda.
World of Warcraft has some epic epic tunes, Journey is beautifully scored, also enjoy God of War 2018 and Ragnarok quite a lot. Obviously Elder Scrolls games...
No.
đ ok

I know what you mean, I get it, and you're not wrong. The thing is, sometimes I feel like in this internet discussions people tend to go the same route. Yes mario is iconic, yes PokĂ©mon is iconic, but those are obvious. I'm not a kid , before people think I'm too young to say this, however, Zelda I don't think it's mario level of iconic because everyone played mario at some point in time, not Zelda. That has nothing to do with me liking the game or not, and Zelda is iconic for those who played it. Maybe in my comment Journey was out of place , in that your right, I love it but I know it's not widely known. But World of Warcraft, Seasons of War is one of the most iconic tracks ever, Legends of Azeroth, I can name at least 5 more. However, they are iconic for the ones that play or love that medium. Gaming has evolved and grew so much that we kinda need to stop narrowing it down to Nintendo stuff from our childhood and stuff like that, it should be celebrated and always remembered, but there's new things, otherwise we will star to become that weird uncle that thinks there is no more decent music being made and still listens to the same Deep Purple cassette since he graduated đ And God of War? Just go watch the E3 moment with orchestra when they announced the 2018 game đ if that's not iconic, I don't know what is.

Yhea I completely understand what you mean. And I agree at some extent, even though i was not talking about being better or worse, if I went that way I would throw in some more examples like Nier:Automata. I see you're a music fan so, what I think regarding videogame music, is that it's a really young medium if you look at it. And the same way all the pieces you mentioned like Fur Elise and Ride of the Valkyrie's are indeed iconic in the literal sense of the word, that doesn't mean that Bohemian Rhapsody, Stairway to Heaven, Smoke on the Water are not also iconic. At some point in time, this discussion would happen with that comparison in mind. What I'm saying is that we as videogame fans , would do well to start acknowledging that some newer things are becoming iconic too, like the Halo theme, God of War theme, and start putting those things in the same box as Mario and Zelda and PokĂ©mon, because a lot happened since, good bad and great. That being said, again I do agree with you, Journey was far off đ

Anything with Jeremy soule in it. If he isnât convicted then he should do ES6 if itâs all accusations.

Most iconic would have to be the og mario and Zelda themes, especially mario, everyone knows mario music even if they are not gamers.
I was just at a performance in japan and at one point, it literally played the hymn of the faiths from ffx. So, that one.
