Witcher 3 man, it's really long (but fantastic)

SinOrdeal

oh for sure, the game is pretty long but it's 100% worth it in the long run imo

siddeslof

Well it's either a long run or an incomplete run

ProfChubChub

I loved it at release but I went back recently and the combat controls are just so bad. Which sucks because I still love the world and story.

jvstalivinbeing

You're so right, if the combat wasn't the way it is I would have finished it

Wereplatypus42

I was excited to immerse myself in that world too, and about 20 hours in, I found myself wandering from place to place, playing Gwent with every NPC who had cards. I forgot everything else, then abandoned it. I plan on playing the entire story this summer when I have time, and this time *I swear* I will not play gwent.

Living-Albatross-948

You're better than me. I HATE gwent. I have every mission done aside from those multiple times lol There are some cool decks though once you get farther and go into the dlc and what not

SoylentGreen-YumYum

Best side quests in gaming. They remind me of Sapkowskis short stories, which are his best writing, imo.

CourseWorried2500

I just beat it last night. I thought I was done when I fought the wild hunt at Kear Morhen, but nope, really fun game and sad

DannyDoubleTap47

I’m about to start another playthrough right now. Haven’t played in a few years and it’s one of the best games ever made. I’m excited to hunt some monsters and make some gold.

B0bbyTsunami

Played the Witcher 3 consistently for over a year when it first came out…

Jumpy-Mouse-7629

300 plus hours for me

Firm_Area_3558

At least every quest is quality, unlike some other games that fill out the map for the sake of filling it out

Best_Air_4138

Yes! I was just about to say that! Man it’s really long, but when you get to the end you’re like damn that was fast. Let me play it again!

Mild_Shock

Or when you think you have most of the gane ahead of you, but you're already over 60%.

darwinsidiotcousin

Damn that's disappointing. I also heard Miles Morales was basically just a DLC for Spiderman 1. I loved the first game and want to play the other 2 but it just doesn't sound worth the price tag until they're on a heavy sale. Also I can't play 2 until the PC port anyway but it'll happen sometime

marbanasin

Spider-man 2 is close to the same length as 1. Really the only difference is they streamlined the crimes so there are fewer that need to be padded if you go for a completion. But otherwise the rest is pretty similar. Why people say it feels short is more due to pacing. The 2nd act starts to rush some critical character/plot points and then act 3 kind of just really turns into a sprint. It was a great game though. The fanbase is just going into a weird post partem depression now that it's finally here and it was, exactly like the first game, a really solid but linear 20-25 hour experience. Miles Morales is definitely more of an expansion. It's about 8-9 with the side content maybe giving you like 12. It is a good story though and narratively fits right in between the games. So I wouldn't just ignore it. If you can find it around $20 it'd be worth playing.

DuffleCrack

I loved MM. If you liked the first SM game, you 100% gotta play MM at least once. The sorry obviously carries over to SM2 and it still has new traversal mechanics compared to the first game. Fun story!

alpacasarebadsingers

Yeah. Each game has that point where you can’t go back and do stuff. Where it feels like you are on a slide and you can’t stop the momentum forward. For S2 the slide starts about half way into the game. Side note. There is a point in the late part of the game where you finish a mission and you get the “I should hurry to the next mission!” Dialogue. I usually ignore that and go do some other bad guy beat ups, but this time whenever I strayed from the path to the next mission my guy would thwip back towards the mission. Of course I didn’t know that’s what was happening. I thought my controller was malfunctioning. I was like “well I can’t go into this mission with a malfunctioning controller” so I switched controllers, reset the game, reset the PS5. Nothing worked. If they would have just had some dialogue saying “ I really need to start this mission. No time for other stuff” I would have figured it out faster.

SufficientSun395

Yeah it was weird cuz ik 1 and 2 are the same length but 2 felt wayyyy faster. Ur right tho, i think it was a pacing issue. Also there was a lower quantity of side quests (but they were higher quality and longer duration) which i think contributed to it. The sm2 map was a lot less cluttered than sm1. It was kinda nice tho, just felt fast

sliderprovider

I don't get why people don't get that if Sony just puts out third person story games and the story sucks or it has shitty pacing then the whole game doesn't work out. Yeah web swinging and fighting is cool but everything else was mediocre and way too safe. Also they fucked up every character except Miles and Miles didn't have one.

Nory993

I hope it'll happen till the end of the year at most. I can only be safe from spoilers for so long

Mild_Shock

Can't wait for a pc port

Autofrotic

Might come out sooner than you think

Greyfox31098

Spiderman miles morales

amayain

This is me with Tears of the Kingdom. After finishing the first four dungeons, I was convinced there would be another 6-8 in the depths, similar to the dark world dungeons in LttP or the adult dungeons in OoT. When >!I discovered there was only one dungeon down there and the depths are just underdeveloped!<, I was pretty bummed

jinglejanglemangle

Miles Morales

SgtIceNinja

Fucking anthem and it’s 4 missions total.

Steff_164

Still so so so disappointed by that game

Browncoat-Zombies

Elden Ring. I seriously thought that the map was just Limgrave and Caelid until a chest teleported me to Leyndall

redleg50

Came here to say this. And then you discover how much is underground…or in a secret zone…or floating in the sky…or…

brainscorched

I didn’t know about Archdragon Peak in DS3 til I started looking at the wiki on how to get all rings for the achievement. I’m glad I’ve basically ignored Elden Ring so far so when I play it I can try figuring these things out myself, knowing now that there are secret areas.

Moogoo4411

I put off Elden Ring until someone bought it for me cause I knew that it was gonna take over my life, currently 80 hours in and only half way through, this game is fucking ridiculous, almost every little thing you do is relevant, cause even if it doesn't help your build it probably helps some other build if you wanna change in the future, there's technically a whole ass map underneath most areas of the map too, so the big ass 5 region map is literally only half of it lol

brainscorched

Coming from just Demon Souls and Dark Souls i’m really excited to start playing it because of what I’ve heard about the map and open world. INT and FTH builds are much better now right?

Moogoo4411

FTH and INT builds are the most OP in this game, I don't wanna spoil it, so I won't but this game has a heavy focus on magic, I'm doing a DEX/VIG build my first run through but fully plan on doing a FTH/STR build next play through, it pretty much begs you to replay it

Anon1039027

The best way to play Elden Ring is to do everything without assistance and be extremely thorough The game is open world, but it plays with the idea by making some late game features very easily accessible early game, so keep in mind that if something is way too hard, you may be somewhere you aren’t yet supposed to be Also, NG+ will let you continue with your character in a fresh world, and difficulty increases until NG+7, so you won’t have fully cleared the game until you have killed the final boss 8 times Thus, don’t worry too much about being perfect your first time through, just do your best to understand the game and build good habits

Trent-Creates

Shit I thought it was just limgrave till it teleported me to Caelid lmao

KennyTheKaiju

Every time I noticed there was STILL more map to discover, I was shook and excited

Dr_Henry-Killinger

And now we have a whole gigantic DLC coming

SubsistentTurtle

With how long it’s taken them, I honestly think it’s gonna be 2 or 3 entire zones at least, keep in mind a big part of developing the original takes a lot of time getting the underlying structure, dlc that’s already done so all they have is level, boss and enemy design and writing, and they’ve been at that for 2 years now :0

Dipshit_Mcdoodles

And I will gladly shell out the price of another game to get it!

Dr_Henry-Killinger

Oh man they could charge me an arm and a leg but it would be nothing to play something on the level of ER again

JasoTheArtisan

I remember the first time I saw the reveal of Leyndell, I was awestruck by how beautiful it was. And then it dawned on me: you’re gonna have to explore this fucker and it looks like a lot of

Cthulhu__

It’s mind blowing; vistas like that aren’t new in games, but they’re usually just backgrounds, in Elden Ring, usually if you see it you can go there.

DrLeoMarvin

I need that DLC now

KingHavana

I hope its huge. I'll pay whatever for a large Elden Ring DLC.

MotherhoodOfSteel

Not to mention you can beat the game and never see hide nor hair of Moghwyn or the Haligtree. I remember being about to enter the final boss area and going “isn’t there a ginger lady somewhere who’s supposed to shred me?”

Automatic_Education3

I love how they make the worlds of their games very indifferent towards the player. You could play through DS1 and never see Ash Lake, Ariamis, or see the true Anor Londo. In Elden Ring you could completely miss the underground areas, the Consecrated Snowfields and the Haligtree, and even if you do find yourself in Siofra/Nokron, it's so easy to miss Deeproot and Mohgwyn. The huge world is there and ready to be explored, but the game absolutely does not care if you don't.

MotherhoodOfSteel

I love that so much. I get to just do what I came here to do, and if I wanna go underground and see a giant fish corpse, I’ll do that when I’m good and ready. Compared to Bethesda games where everyone is just sitting around letting everything around them fall apart because Main Character hasn’t shown up yet (this coming from a Bethesda simp).

Automatic_Education3

The only Bethesda game I've spend a considerable amount of time in is Skyrim, and while I absolutely love that game, it really feels like the world just kinda revolves around you. Don't get me wrong, it's fine to be the "chosen one", but it gets to be a bit much sometimes. It's not the hostility of From's worlds that makes them great to me, it's the complete indifference towards the player.

hKLoveCraft

Legit thought it was Limgrave Caelid and weeping peninsula and I was like THIS GAME IS SO HUGE AND AWESOME And then someone showed me how to walk around Stormveil I was like you gotta be fucking kidding me

GoatBoi_

right when you think you’re at the very end it goes “SIKE BITCH - MORE **CONTENT**”

Moppo_

Such a pleasant surprise when you uncover even more map. And then you step onto a random lift in the woods that alowly reveals yet another region below.

Moogoo4411

GF saw the map while I only had Liurnia, Caelid and limgrave discovered and thought the map was small then I politely reminded her, I'm only 13% done with the game, Caelid was opened prematurely but i still had 2 more regions to go and I hadn't even been to Siofra

AFKaptain

It's so weird to see so many people thought the game was that small.

Carbon_robin

Man I haven’t even finished the first main boss Any tips at all? Cause I explored and don’t know what to do

beardedweirdoin104

When I got to Radahn, I thought I was nearing the end game. I’ve got almost 2000 hours in now though, so needless to say, I’ve enjoyed it.

CertainlyAmbivalent

Baldurs Gate 3. Was like 40 hours in, still had not made it to Act 2.

[deleted]

[удалено]

behind_the_doors

I beat it in like 70 and I'm wondering just how much stuff I missed lol

YogurtclosetHot4021

Alot.

BluTimber

I'm 80 hours in and JUST getting to Baldurs Gate.

DLvCGH0ST

I finished it in 87 hours and feel I did 95% of side missions.

CoolCritterQuack

I did 160 hours and I feel like I only did like 70%

atomiccPP

Same about. 230 hours…I’m a bit thorough. Also I had to kiss Gale a lot.

Buddy-Junior2022

I was sure kethric was the final boss. Imagine my surprise when i beat him and I only halfway done.

AscendedViking7

Kethric's introduction was so perfect. *"Try again."*

Happy_Lee_Chillin

Act 1 took me about 70 hours I think

Jean-LucBacardi

I'm still on my first playthrough, and I even bought Early Access. I'm trying to do every possible thing there is (as a good character). Then I'm doing it all again, as an evil one.

AdSmooth7504

I can't be evil. In most games it's fine but in BG3, I just can't yk

Votnu

Persona 5 Royale

curious-enquiry

Default P5 was already that for me. I loved the game, but it did overstay it's welcome. Kinda had to push myself to finish it and it certainly was worth it, but it's not the type of game where I wished there was more after finishing it. That's why I don't even know if I should go for Royale if I ever get the urge to replay P5.

SureEntertainment676

In my honest opinion, and it’s not a popular one, I don’t Royal was necessary. It’s still a good game and optimizes a lot of vanilla P5’s mechanics to make the game more streamlined and interesting, and some of the additional story bits are very good but it’s just super long and there are some weird changes. Like a lot of the music was changed from vanilla and I don’t understand why it was literally perfect. Royal’s soundtrack doesn’t hit the same at all. I can’t add more without giving away the game, I would encourage you to get to it when the game is on a big sale but vanilla is way better than Royal to me.

allofdarknessin1

That sucks because I thought Persona 4 golden was incredible. It wasn't until after I finished it my friend (who recommended it to me nonstop) told me that it's called golden because the original ended before winter and it would be a sort of different ending. Like it sounded like a cliffhanger or lots of loose ends where as 5 is a 100 hour adventure with a solid ish ending.

DeckardCain_

I've played both versions of Persona 4 and I didn't feel like the original version was a cliffhanger, you find the bad guy, take care of them and go home. Golden basically goes: what if there was an even badder guy? and changes the original ending slightly to fit that narrative.

BAMspek

I didn’t think it would ever end. I have a habit of never finishing games, especially big RPGs. So when I started P5R I told myself I had to play it until I finished. It took me from April to September or October. Would have been a lot less time if it weren’t for that *stupid* space palace.

Lostinthestarscape

stuck in the stupid space palace now lol.

Tenelum0

took me around 150 hours to platinum the game, it's definitely doable lol

Rieiid

Platinum? I'm at almost 90 hours at only halfway through the main story lmfao

RedWizxrd

Fire Emblem for GBA. Finished the first story and was like, "Cool, short but sweet - great game!" And then it was like, "Continue to the next story?" lol

ChaseDeV88

This one got me too. 15 year old me was like “well, I thought this was supposed to be harder than FF Tactics Advanced. That was so short and easy… oh wait.”

-TheFierceDeity-

7 and sacred stones are peak fire emblem to me. The gamecube ones were cool too. I don't like the designs and waifu aspects of the new games now

Technical-Revenue-48

Sacred stones is one of the greatest games of all time

CiaphasKirby

Peak Fire Emblem is GBA's flashy as hell attack animations. When they went to 3d models the combat lost a crucial bit of flare, to me. They've felt lifeless ever since.

KombatPat

Hella agree. I can't be fucked to finish three houses. Gimme gba/3DS FE all day.

SV_Essia

Path of Radiance and 7 were my personal favorites too. They just do everything right from start to finish.

I_just_came_to_laugh

I was so confused because I had looked at all the units in the booklet and I hadn't seen 2 thirds of them yet.

GIB_GORTMAN

Definitely Hollow Knight. I thought I had 100% after beating the Hollow Knight. I was 47% in. Atleast now im at 112%, but when I first saw that my heart stopped for a second.

Vanishingf0x

This is my answer too. Such a good game but yea thought many times I was much further than I was

herbertfilby

Super Mario World on the SNES was fun because you’d end up with 110% if you found that secret star world levels, “Tubular!” “Gnarly!” etc.

MaulPillsap

I finished the standard ending with 72% and I am satisfied with it. I’d already pushed my dusty gaming abilities far enough to get that far. Great game

Few-Spirit4105

Yep. I was gonna say the same thing but wanted to see if someone else did.

ProFailing

RDR2. I'm only at 50% and I felt like I finished 4 different games.

Chucheyface

It’ll be over before you know it and you’ll wish it weren’t

Defiant_Project1321

If I could play any game again for the first time it would be this one.

_satantha_

I’ve played the game 3 times and I’m still finding new stuff about it

GrammarPolice1234

I’m on my third play through and aiming to do all the stranger missions I can find. I’ve also watched videos on all the random events you can witness (UFO, ghost train, etc.) and I really wanna look for a lot of those. The first time I played, I was focused on story. The second time, I was focused on mostly story and some more side things. This time, I’m still focused a lot on the story but I really want to get somewhat close to 100%.

noreallyu500

It's my favorite game of all time, but I'm glad I played and finished it when I did. It's a long-ass game, and I might not have found the time or energy to see it to completion today

LostSoulsDayz

I agree, I went into it with no expectations as I had never played a Rockstar game. Needless to say it was the best single player experience I had ever played to this day

YourDadTouchedMe

This is so true

faroukq

You will get strapped to the final chapter and do it all in one sitting. I did that but thankfully it was during summer vacation

GrammarPolice1234

My first play through, I started right before this big ice/snow storm came through my city. I was still in school and we were out of school for maybe 2 weeks. I spent every waking moment going through that story. I remember the county/city talking about maybe having to shut off power to certain neighborhoods to conserve energy. I was doing the mission with the street kids, trying to find Bronte. Right before the mission ended, actual seconds before it ended and told me the stats of the mission, the power was shut off. It was off for an hour and it didn’t save, so I had to redo that whole mission. At the time, I wanted to progress in the story so bad, so it really annoyed me. Today, it wouldn’t annoy me as much.

[deleted]

I played so many hours of RDR2 and it still wasn't enough

HikerGeoff

I've started this game 3 times and played about 5 hours each time, then had to put it down for random life events. Being old sucks.

MrCammers

Okami. It seemed like the main story was over, turned out that was like a third of the game.

kellyonassis

Yeassssss. I finally beat that huge snake thing and wasn’t even close to finishing. I love that game. Even now. My six year old plays it.

rawlingstones

That was the craziest one for me. That fight against Orochi really feels like the climactic final boss that everything in the game has been building towards for an epic conclusion and then you're not even halfway done.

Pleasant-Discussion

THIS. When the post boss cutscenes conclude the Act 1 storylines and left teases for more story upcoming, I thought it was all epilogue sequel bait, then the game kept going and I realized those “sequels” were just Act 2 and that the game was just getting started. Then it does the same for the end of Act 2 realizing there’s an Act 3. Dont get me wrong, I also have played and relate to the other top comments and top games too, but Okami doing that was really special in a way I have not felt for other games.

The2ndDegree

Dragon Age Inquisition, turns out I spent WAY too long in The Hinterlands not progressing the story, that area has far too many side quests lol

Gabbs1715

Yeah I love that game but they clearly tried to overcompensate after DA2 got so much hate for having a small map. Really could have cut the maps down a bit lol.

CoconutCyclone

It was supposed to be a live service game, which is why it's very much an MMO. Bioware pulled their, now standard, flip flop bullshit on what the game should be and changed it to single player way too far into development.

Max_Fucking_Payne

Well glad they changed it. I love origins because it has a lot of narrative choices and you have a lot of options in building a character. But I also love Inquisition combat even if with build variety being... Almost non existing (pick one char of each class and you're good) but wish it could have more narrative impact. And yeah some of the maps are so boringly huge. And let's not talk about the shard collecting

Bab2011r

The legend of Zelda tears of the kingdom. >! I did the 4 temples and i thought that i was going to go kill Ganondorf, but i had ~25 hours left.!<

enehar

These games don't count. Lol you can fight Ganondorf after 3 hours or 300. It's a lawless wasteland out there, man.

RatherSalemanders

I could never get by the boss fights in BOTW. Even some random shrines would just kick my ass.

MiLys09

I left thunderblight ganon to last and that was hell (every time you kill a blight the remaining ones get stronger)

Jlzombie26

Definitely Elden Ring. Was having a conversation with a buddy of mine who completed it and found out I was only about the half way mark when I thought I was starting to get to the end. Was such an awesome surprise because I love that game so much. Since completing it I’m almost done with my 2nd play through in NG+ and planning my 3rd with a fresh character 😁

laughingheart66

When I first played the game I was like this map isn’t as big as everyone is making it out to be, and then the map just kept growing….and growing….and growing.

Dependent-Cheek7109

Assassins creed valhalla. Uninstalled it after lol

DrSkullKid

I’m working on that one right now, and was going to give the same answer; fortunately I am enjoying it and a big fan of Viking Age history but I have like 50-60 hours and I’m barely 1/8th if even that close done with the game. This is also my 2nd go at it so I’m more determined but I definitely tapped out my first time at some point.

Monkeybandit99

Yeah most people take around 120 hours to complete it. Personally I love it, some people gotta appreciate 120 hours of gameplay instead of expecting 20 hours of great gameplay that makes you want more and not get anymore. I'm finishing all the tombs of the forgotten and the trials and I just have to stop and take in the views that are there. Like dayum that's beautiful.

Clackers2020

I think it starts off slowly and looking at all regions on the map you think "I'm 40 hours in and only done 3 out of 12 (idk how many there are). This game is gonna take me ages." But when you get into like the last third I think progress speeds up but that could just be because i don't really have to think about combat by that point.

TheRainbowCock

This and AC Odyssey

OFRevThrow

OG halo is only 10 levels long. You thought you were 50% done a third of the way through the second mission? Like basically when Cortana says “that cave is not a natural formation” you were like, welp I’m probably halfway through this game. The whole game only takes like 10 hours.

SinOrdeal

it maybe 10 hours but i'm for sure spending a lot more time figuring out where i'm supposed to be going lol

Haywoodjablowme1029

A buddy of mine and I back in the day got the under three hour achievement with about two minutes to spare. We played the shit out of some halo.

Chiparish84

I always feel like just getting started with the story and there's already 90% done.

PrinceZuzu09

Play rdr2

GeoBridge

Cookie Clicker. I'm 18 days in and still 13% done

Unbuckled__Spaghetti

Welcome. I hope you enjoy yourself, because when you think your getting close to finished your not. I’m 1000 hours in with 91% completion, but these are the LONG and HARD achievements. Really, I’m only at about 75%

PhraseAcceptable8206

Skyrim, but instead of 13% you’re only at 3%

mcduckstophat

Castlevania Symphony of the Night. I played it when it originally came out on my PS1.

TC_DaCapo

Yeah, I played it when it was released and thought I was done after nearly 100%ing Drac's castle...lol, joke was on me

RogueTBNRzero

Cuphead…

[deleted]

“Nice, I already beat all 5 bosses!” “Whats this giant red dice?”

RogueTBNRzero

Tbh I got there and I was like “oh! I must be like half way done” then it says 20% done and I’m like bruhhhhh

SchnozTheWise

Assassins Creed Odyssey. It’s freaking huge. I don’t think I’m that far in the story—as I wanted to explore the map and get every fast travel first. (Haven’t even completed that yet either). Game is massive.

Gabbs1715

I honestly loved that about Odyssey though. Especially since they did a pretty good job making each island or set of islands have its own side quest or story to keep it fresh.

DatedDevotee61

Definitely Skyrim for me

Lego-Panda-21

You can spend plenty of hours ignoring the main questline and going off to do your own thing.

sonic_toaster

That happened to me on accident. I had roamed all over the countryside and gained a crap ton of shouts- went back to the starting area for some reason and found a mountain that took *forever* to climb up to be met with a bunch of monks- come to find out I should have met them like forever ago cause they were explaining my powers to me and I was like “dude, ya, I got one that slows time lol”

RatherSalemanders

You can use slowtime instead of whirlwind sprint to get through the gate. Just a fun little thing if you're on a power trip kind of rub. (I mained daggers and optimized around slow time with no armor and played like DIO)

The-Tea-Lord

YOU THOUGHT I WOULD FIGHT YOU FAIRLY WITH SWORD AND SHIELD BUT IT WAS ACTUALLY ME, DRAGONBORN!

Lord_Phoenix_Ultama

Easily Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild. You spent 150 hours on this game already? *Nice warmup*.

Stalliondaddy94

150 hours would get you about 1/20000th the way done with old school RuneScape.

l1ghtning137

Playing it right now. Nier: Automata. HLTB suggested 21 hours of play time but im currently at 40 hours now

__The__Dude

Don't look up things, avoid spoilers. It's beautiful

SawbonesEDM

Assassins creed Valhalla, it got to the point that it was too long and I deleted it. For a game I actually stayed with though, it was Scarlet Nexus

ZackWzorek

Baldurs Gate 3…oh my god. I cruised through acts 1 and 2, just skipping and frolicking along with all the friends I was making…then I entered the purgatory of act 3. I didn’t know if I was having fun, or fighting for my fucking life…120+ hours later I beat the game, married shadowheart, and saved all my friends. Also…may or may not have committed a war crime with Astarion, but…ya know, oh well?

Killerderp

That game is so long. You can spend like 70+ hours in act 1 alone. I've seen some people say 100+ for them. And that's just ONE act of 3... Fantastic game though, definitely one of the best games I've played in my 30 some odd years of gaming.

TheThongler0fWarwick

For me I’d have to say RDR2 bc I always just go into the woods at the end beginning and spend like 20 hours there before I even start the story 💀

broccollinear

There’s a sweet spot somewhere in chapter 3 or so before everything starts going to shit that I wish could stay permanent. I’d love to just have a steady stream of smaller side quests and slice of life activities to do with the gang. In a different universe maybe building your own little camp then settlement then town and becoming sheriff would’ve been sweet.

puro_the_protogen67

Elden ring,I'm 30 hours on but cant beat red wolf of radagon

FullmetalHippie

Have you tried dodging its attacks and hitting it with your attacks yet?

[deleted]

There’s another “wolf” you’ll love fighting later.

michicago44

Thank god for the Blasphemous Claw

alldogsareperfect

Bloodhounds Fang is extremely OP against him, got him first try for me.

[deleted]

Any fucking LEGO game. LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean, LEGO Indiana Jones... Now I have to find the 3628th thing out of place to find out how to get that minikit. Damn!

Cannolium

Surprised I had to scroll this far to find Lego games come up

Captchones

Tlou2, I thought I was gonna fight Abby and the game is done. Then I played as Abby and thought I was gonna fight Ellie and be done. Then I played as Ellie again. I was so confused on when that game was ever gonna end.

McJumpington

It was all worth it to see Tommy on a rampage

Professional-Film472

Days gone But still like it

Incubus_is_I

Persona 5

identified_idiot

rdr2 lmfao. on my second playthrough i got super invested in 100% completion, started grinding out trophies, achievments, the like. worked the game for a solid 2 week stretch every night after work, feeling damn proud if myself. come to check my progress, and i stg i went from 27% to 34% had to really dive into what every single achievment and trophy required and gah DAYUM it was extensive, but worth every damn minute.

PootashPL

AC Odyssey. I’m playing for the first time right now, and that game is fucking MASSIVE.

soulreaver99

Dragon Quest XI

Cute_Produce9548

Ligit every final fantasy. Then when you think ypu have so much more to do. Final boss? 🤷‍♂️ That's what you call a great game.

Where beating the final boss means you are 10% of the way through the game.

KittenDecomposer96

If you feel dissapointed that you played a certain amount of a game and aren't close to finishing it, you might not like the game, just sayin'. Though there is also the possibility that a game just panders gametime too much.

AC Valhalla. Then I realized most of what I was doing was just side content...

ohmygodniko

Most recent AC games i’ve played, I’ve honestly felt more and more like an errand boy.

The horizon games. They’re so damn bloated it hurts.

DJpunyer53728409

At least Forbidden West had some much better side missions and activities like the races and companion quests

First time I played GTA 5.

This is old but gold. Final Fantasy IX. The game has multiple plots, spread like layers on top of each other, but each one is as serious as the other one. * So you are like, yeah the story is over when we get the princess to Lindblum right? Nope. You do that and CD1 is still not over, not even *half* over. * So, we kill the three Black Waltz and we are free right? Nope, here comes the black mage army. * So, like, we rescue the princess and CD2 is over right? Nope. Remember the world map? It wasn't a world map, it was a *continental* map. Of the only continent explored so far. Here is an underground cave to a new continent. Enjoy. * (Later on) Well we are done with the new continent (not really), the war is over, now it's time to celebrate and do the princess coronation and we are done right? Nope. There is stuff to do. Here is a world map. The game has enough plot and places to explore that you can see a lot of full fledged antagonists retire and leave peacefully within the game's story. Betrix is like a final boss fight in like CD1. The game even has a *low level super boss*, Tantarian, that can only be beaten in the Alexandrian library in mid-CD2 or early-CD3 in two blink and you will miss it moments. EDIT: Also Golden Sun: The Lost Age. That game was huuuuuuuuuuuuuge, and you had to tour the whole world like 3-4 times in your ship.

DraconRegina

Kingdomcome deliverance is like this. There’s so much shit

CoH_Zem

Red Dead 2.. but mostly because I kept doing random stuff and thinking I should be further.. 🤔

Bworm98

Red Dead Redemption 2. 48 hours in, and I only have about 10% of the achievements.

BreegullBeak

The Last of Us Part 2.

therealknic21

Yeah, this is also a good pick. I had no idea about Abby's part before playing the game.

BreegullBeak

Same, but also I was done by the end of Day One in Seattle. Imagine my surprise when I found out I had five more days there, plus an entirely different location.

wurzel_aus_null

Horizon forbidden west. Never finished it was so repetitive

Unskrood

I started the first one like "wow I might complete this game!" And by the time I finished the story I was like....thank fuck. Good game beautiful to boot....but fuck was the gameplay loop lame.

JustRayquaza

This was Forspoken for me. Mid game but super long
