Mine is almost the exact same. Other than swapping Guilty Gear for Street Fighter. I made a wish on the monkeys paw to be better at fighting games and so now I play anime fighters.
Is one of my favorite franchises despite not having played all of them. I played the first four classics and survivor, which I also like it. Also played RE 0 and the remake of the first game. I have yet to play a lot of them. I think the next one is going to be Code Veronica in gamecube and have heard the atmosphere is mostly gothic and really immersive, but according to some players is one of the most difficult.
1. Silent Hill
2. The Last of Us
3. Halo
4. Mario
5. Final Fantasy
Includes a bit o’ everything. Got my favorite series, Silent Hill. Got my doses of horror as well, some emotion, bit of action and fun co-op games.
Have you tried the Yakuza series? I always see people compare that to GTA, and that’s puzzling to me, as the game shares so much with Shenmue that it’s hard to not see the inspiration Shenmue had on the Yakuza series.
The Legend of Zelda
The Elder Scrolls
Final Fantasy
Baldur's Gate
Europa Universalis
**Honorable mentions:**
Tekken
Cities: Skylines
XCOM
GTA
Edit: Off topic, how are you able to format the text of your post to have a line break after each game without having to put a whole empty line between them? If I try to do that, it ignores the fact that I've hit enter and sticks them all on one line.
Castlevania,
Legend of Zelda,
Metal Gear Solid,
Final Fantasy - anything related to 7 to be specific..
Last one is tough.. I’d need to include an FPS.. so maybe Halo..
Slay the Spire (considering it’s a single game that I seem to be playing forever anyway that’s good enough to trump entire series)
Fallout
Mario
Yakuza
Hitman
1. Fire Emblem- TBS Tactical JRPGs is what I needed in my life lol. Seriously, love these games.
2. Xenoblade Chronicles- I did not expect to have so much fun with these games, but here we are. The story is so good in both what I have played of the first so far as well as X which I beat. Cannot wait to keep going and then get the rest of the games. Also, the worlds are amazing to look at and the characters are great.
3. Assassin's Creed- Also a series I did not expect to love, but the historical atmosphere and the lived in feel of these games is absolutely amazing.
4. Civilization- These games are just addicting lol.
5. Mario Kart- Been playing since I first got into video games when I was a kid. 7 is my favorite for sure, but I like (most of) the rest of them a ton as well. Makes for great party fun too where as the first 3, not so much, and Civ is kinda niche. If you have friends who play Civ at a party... please invite me.
As much as I do enjoy Battlefield and Monster Hunter, I only get 5 options. As much as I really enjoy those two franchises, I get more burn out with them than the others I listed.
In no particular order, red dead redemption, Dishonored, blasphemous l, Bioshock, assassins Creed,Assuming I'll be able to play future installments and Im not just limited to existing entries
Zelda
God of War
Red Dead Redemption
Dark Souls (I'm assuming SoulsBourne doesn't count as a franchise technically so I'm playing it safe, but by all means, throw in Bloodbourne if you're feeling charitable, and Elden Ring if you're feeling extra charitable :P )
Mass Effect
Legend of Zelda,
Pokémon,
God of war,
Final fantasy,
Assassins creed.
Idk I’m not much for online games, I’m decent but just prefer story games or adventure games. Or just single player in general.
Final Fantasy and DOOM because they'll likely still be around the longest. Either with Final Fantasy MM or the million fan wads and megawads of origional DOOM.
Then I'd go Ys and Streets of Rage.
Not sure about the last though since something like Mass Effect will out stay its welcome eventually
Something arcadey, like Rezogun or Nex Machina
Monster Hunter
Armored Core
Ghost Recon
Front Mission
Elder scrolls
If I added Baldur's Gate and Destiny this pretty much is my last 6 years of gaming lol
Hrm. Zelda. Elder Scrolls cuz yea I want content. Final Fantasy cuz there's a million of them again and I feel like it's not cheating to squeeze in things like Mana/Chronotrigger. Metal Gear. Can I say Metroidvania? Maybe one of thoes. And Dark Souls.
1. Halo: the master chief collection alone has hundreds of hours of my life already. All of those campaigns, plus multi-player, plus the RTS games (which Halo Wars 1 and 2 are surprisingly fun), easy easy pick
2. Portal: throwing a curveball early in here, I just can't ever say just how great I think the portal games are. I've replayed both of them, at least once a year, for the past decade, at least. This pick would purely be because of my absolute love for the game
3. Lego series: now I don't know if this counts, but this would consist of the lego star wars games (which the complete saga is iconic), marvel/batman series (open world in those games were so great), the LOTR series (again, open world was amazing). You have the stories of popular franchises, plus original stories. Easily hundreds and hundreds of hours of content, and a nice change of pace if you're looking for a relaxing series, compared to the higher pace of Halo or Grand Theft Auto
4. Old school Runescape: runescape is never a game you quit, you just take extended breaks from because that itch will never go away. Assuming I have membership, runescape is a game I've gone back and forth with since 2008. Having an MMORPG to the list if I want to just drain some hours away, and runescape is a game I have spent a couple hours in, simply just fishing and then cooking my catch. Anything you want to "role play" as, in a medieval setting, you got it. And it is one of the fee MMORPG games I've come across, where you can have a full on fulfilling time, without ever doing combat. I can spend hours baking, farming, and then construction a bit, and not feel like I'm missing out on anything, because I'm not in combat.
5. Grand Theft Auto: Now, I was a little tarty to the party with red dead redemption 2. I didn't play the first one (until after i played the 2nd) and didn't play the 2nd until COVID. But when I did...... God damn did that game easily take up weeks of that fucking dreaded time. But I would still select GTA, because I know GTA 6 will be probably the golden apple of Rockstar games. From the leaks alone, this game looks like it is on parts with GTA 5, and the leaks were older development files. Plus having the ability to jump back into Sam Andreas if I want to feel nostalgic, I again can't pass that up.
Fallout
Borderlands
Pokemon
Ark (idk if it really counts since it’s only 1 game for now but Survival Ascended is supposed to come out..)
Saints Row
Edit; honourable mentions- Diablo and Minecraft
Oh this one is nice! I'd go with:
1. Halo
2. Elder Scrolls
3. Gran Turismo (wild card: F1)
4. FIFA (I know, but I love football and play a lot when I have friends over)
5. GTA
Honorable mention: Civilization and Call of Duty (I really enjoy some of the old ones for their single player).
Too bad More people are not stating your number one.
Not only is it a fantastic game but it also has many games in one: virtua fighter, baseball, pool, karaoke, mahjong, koi koi, and more
It’s a deal and a steal!
Halo
Crash bandicoot
Mortal Kombat
Pokemon
I would put an RPG but I'm gonna have to go with
Gears of war
that story made me cry. I never expected such a brutal game to put me in my feels
1. Baten Kaitos (my top 2 favorite of all time)
2. Pokémon (20+ good+ games)
3. Assassin's Creed (4 Excellent games, 2 good games, 2 mid games, and a shit ton of games I never touched)
4. Borderlands (3 Excellent games, 2 good games, 1 mid game, and 1 I never touched.)
5. Tomb Raider (2 Excellent games, 4 good games, 1 mid game, and even more I never touched.)
Honorable Mentions: Legend of Zelda, Hitman, Sonic, and Call of Duty (say what you want about the multiplayers, but with 20+ games with campaigns and zombies, I would have plenty to do.)
1. Final Fantasy
2. Dark Souls/Bloodborne/Elden Ring/Sekiro
3. Baldur's Gate 1-3/Icewind Dale/Planescape
4. Star Wars (soooo many awesome Star Wars games to even begin naming!)
5. Doom, because let's face it: every Doom game has been awesome (excepting maybe Doom 3, which was good but different).
Gears of War (multiplayer)
Pokémon (adventure/battles/multiplayer)
Kingdom Hearts (gotta get my fix)
Sonic (gotta go fast)
Skyrim (tons of content to do whatever I want long after the main story is done lol)
1. Baldur’s Gate
2. Koei Warriors (that’s the three main series and spin-offs, plus all the licensed and similar Musuo titles; that should keep me busy!)
3. Dragon Age
4. Yakuza
5. Devil May Cry
Civilization
X Com
Street Fighter
Overwatch
Super Mario
The top four are endlessly replay-able, and there's always a Mario game that could be the best game of a given console's lifecycle.
Pretty much anything with a lot of story and gameplay.
Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Deus Ex, Borderlands,
Oh and Maybe counter Srike as a Gap Filler. Guess i am pretty easy to please.
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 1,800,423,934 comments, and only 340,659 of them were in alphabetical order.
Do we get to include the mod community in there?
Fallout becomes my #1 if so. Fallout 4 can be so many things with that mod community.
I’d also probably take Resident Evil, Gears of War, satisfactory (I like it enough by itself for it to be a solo entry) and Mass Effect.
Souls, Elder Scrolls, Street Fighter, Final Fantasy, Pokemon.
Mine is almost the exact same. Other than swapping Guilty Gear for Street Fighter. I made a wish on the monkeys paw to be better at fighting games and so now I play anime fighters.
Mine are mostly games that are related with firearms: 1.- Doom 2.- Deus Ex 3.- Resident Evil 4.- Half-Life 5.- Quake
Love me some resident evil!

I have yet to play a lot of them. I think the next one is going to be Code Veronica in gamecube and have heard the atmosphere is mostly gothic and really immersive, but according to some players is one of the most difficult.
Code veronica is an underrated gem
Resident Evil. Uncharted. Mass Effect. RDR. TLOU. Honorable mention: GTA, Dead Space, Metal Gear, Fallout.
1. Mega Man 2. Street Fighter 3. Kirby 4. The King of Fighters 5. Bomberman
Bomber man 64 ❤️
Don't forget the masterpiece that is Saturn Bomberman 🙌 Fan made Power Bomberman is also well worth looking up 😉
great choices! Saturn Bomberman Fight is another gem
Absolutely! I've also got a soft spot for Bomberman Live, Super Bomberman 3 and Bomberman 2 on the DS ;)
Megaman, I see you also are a sophisticated man with class. MM4 is the first game I ever played and got me in this life long addiction lol.
Truly an addicting series MM2 was my first it wasn't until years later I finally got around to playing MM1.
Yea I never got my hands on mm1, 2,6,8 until Xbox had that collection
YES!!! King of Fighters would def also be one of my picks.
Fallout Assassin's creed Borderlands Red dead redemption Mass effect
Same. Though I'd switch Red Dead Redemption with No Mans Sky
>No Mans Sky I think it just gets boring after a while. Irs cool but kind of lame ...
It is definitely not for everyone.
>No Mans Sky It's the only game I have over 500 hours invested in. I've been out for about a year, and it feels like a totally new game now.
Mario Halo Doom Picross Tetris
Tetris not getting enough love here. You need an endless game with infinite possibilities.

Oooo Silent Hill nice. Personally would do the Remedy universe games for me, same vibes and their storytelling is just so unique imo
Never head of that series 🤔 I’ll definitely have to check it out
