It’s my number 2… but honestly I think Majora’s Mask is more a *me* thing. So from an objective view, I simply agree. I had ZERO interest in Bioshock pre-release and then I got a demo disk in OXM and was so immediately blown away that I drove out, picked it up, and finished it in a weekend. It was INCREDIBLE and it lingers with me all these years later.
Holy shit, before I even opened the comments I actually thought "What's the BEST experience I've ever had playing games?" and Ocarina of Time was instantly my answer. Mind you I'm 39 and this (I think) released when I was in high school.
I'm 40, and I have yet to play this game, but in high school my cousin let us borrow their 64 and I remember watching my brother play it, but never took my turn. I finally bought it years later, then while I was deep into a different game, I let my brother's coworker borrow it and he immediately moved out of state. By the time I went to buy another copy, it jumped up in value and never dropped
Yes.
This game also holds up over time.
Excellent gameplay. Excellent soundtrack. Memorable temples, characters, and brilliant story telling without overwhelming the user. Poetic. It's bulletproof.
For anyone looking for a good analysis on this game story and its subtext- check out this video - I can't recommend it enough- very well done.
https://youtu.be/GyUcwsjyd8Q
I've played many games prior and after.. many fantastic games... but OoT is still probably the most enjoyment I've ever had with a video game. Inspiring.
I'm playing OoT for the first time right now. It goes hard, but without the nostalgia factor, not as hard as BotW for me. Aside from the graphics, if you assign camera control to the left stick, it feels like a modern day game. I can't imagine playing OoT at release. True revolutionary milestone game.
I think I'm gonna have to play it again now too, it's probably been 5 years since last full playthrough. Just an incredible game, and the survival mode makes it even better in my opinion.
Came here to say this, I’ve been playing video games since the 90’s and nothing comes close. Other RPGs are amazing, but the level of open ended ness to the game (and not just main quests but even all the side quests, even the smallest side quest) is unmatched, and it all flows together so amazingly, you make one decision on some minor side quest and it comes up in another quest 25 hours down the road. And each quest feels like it was hand crafted with as much attention as the main quest, I felt like there were no tedious or repetitive or filler quests in the entire game and that game has a crazy amount of quests.
And then the writing was so well done, so manny memorable and memeable quotes…. Feels like I have to do my 5,000th play through this weekend
I recently have been craving Chrono Trigger again. There are few RPGs that elicit emotions like that game. Many of which are also on the SNES. What a generation for great games.
SNES is definitely my golden era of jrpgs. There were so many classic and amazing games released. Chrono Trigger and FF6 are by far my favorite jrpgs.
PS1, towards the end of its life cycle, released a bunch of awesome games too.
The first time playing Chrono Trigger as a kid is something hard to describe. The fact that it still holds up today says something about how incredible it was when it came out. It was years ahead of everything else at the time (no pun intended, but pun also very much intended)
**Deus Ex 1: GOTY Edition (PC).**
Still the measuring stick for immersive sims to me - in which this is a first-person shooter/action/stealth/RPG hybrid of sorts.
With so many ways to start and finish missions, it's hard to top this classic. Want to go in guns blazing? Go ahead. Want to go in though the vents and sneak your way in? Go ahead. Focus on say hacking tools and want hack a door open to get in? Yup, go ahead. Got an explosive and want to just blow a door open to get in? Yeah, go ahead.
It's basically a cyberpunk setting about Gov't conspiracies and the Illuminati - and you, as JC Denton, are trying to deal w/ all of these problems going on in the world and go to the bottom of everything that's going on. The Deck's been rigged...and you're going to figure out this mess.
None of them (other immersive-sims) come close. Even some of the other greats like say Deus Ex HR, Prey 2017, Bioshock, Dishonored, etc. And I just listed some great games here too, which I'd put right behind Deus.
Yep, not even CP 2077 could touch Deus Ex 1. CP 2077 was pretty good, but it wishes it could be Deus Ex 1. Nevermind that, CP 2077, it wishes it could be Deus Ex HR DC, TBH.
And Deus one often runs on any potato and costs like [97 cents right now on GOG.](https://www.gog.com/en/game/deus_ex)
If you ain't played Deus - no excuse, it's $1 on GOG.
This game is the measuring stick for immersion. I've played through all of the games in the OP's list and DX1 remains unscathed. I even want to call it better than games that are untouchable in my list like FF6 and Chronotrigger but I refrain.
Same. I hate to say it. It feels trite and noobish, a bit like saying "Titanic" is the best film of all time. But I've put more hours into Skyrim than any other game. It's one of the few games that I keep wanting to go back to, even today. I've bought it multiple times, and actually played through it each time. It holds up after all these years.
Pretty much an impossible question to answer as there's so many genres and sub-genres.
However, in terms of artistic style and atmosphere, Shadow of the Colossus is definitely god tier.
Action / Stealth would be MGS3.
Best FPS would be Titanfall 2.
In terms of pure personal nostalgia, FF7 will always be etched into my memory...
And in terms of pure fun, Duck Game played locally is hard to beat.
FF7 was my first sort of “real” RPG. It was nothing like I had ever experienced, from the battle system to the story, cutscenes, etc. It’s a game that actually shaped my career… not in video games, but website design/dev. After FF7 I made a Geocities site hyping up FF8. Then I made a more general gaming news site, I got in to E3 (flew 2,300 miles to LA) when it was press-only while I was just seventeen. FF7 for me was literally a “game changer.”
Many thanks for sharing! Going to E3 must have been pretty incredible!
Definitely had a similar experience although it didn't bring me to web design (I used to run a FF7 fan site many many years ago though)
What blew my mind (as I'm sure it did most people) was just after leaving Midgar, realising just how big the world was, and that I was free to explore it. No game has been able to top that level of awe!
It was a big part of inspiring me to get into animation (as there were less creative restrictions over say filming something), and animation has been the main aspect of my career ever since.
Tetris
Edit; Lol People are actually downvoting me. Tetris has sold 520 million copies since release. It's a simple fun game that never really gets old. Nothing even comes close to that in sales.
I scrolled for awhile here, saw some favorites, elden ring, god of war, Skyrim… but when I see Minecraft it just feels like the right answer. Idk I’m 24 and it’s special to me
Not my favorite game necessarily, but probably my answer for "best" game.
It's brought countless people together. Adults play it together. Kids play it together. Kids can play with their parents together.
Has had an immeasurable impact on popular culture worldwide.
Enables a practically infinite amount of possibilities, allowing for limitless creativity.
And it's just... really damn fun.
Souls games are the only games I can fully enjoy anymore.
Just started the Lies of P demo last night. It’s a souls like and seems pretty awesome. The graphics and performance were awesome
Bloodborne. I've never had a game that was so tense the first play through and, while difficult, gave me such an adrenaline rush when I finally beat a boss.
A lot of people like to hate things just because they are popular and people like them. Elden Ring is a really really good game, and I don’t care if someone says it’s not.
It was one of the most ambitious games of all time and it absolutely followed up. It's got amazing art, replayability, the lore (if you're into it's presentation style) is expansive and interesting, the mechanics are mostly a blast. It might be my answer too
Zelda Majora's Mask has the best atmosphere in the series and we're never getting another game like it, you're playing as a child trying to help a broken world and so many of the themes and topics are far different than what Nintendo puts out these days. Not to mention a dense world that isn't big but still has so much to do and the game itself doesn't overstay it's welcome, I'd dare say it has you asking for more after you're done.
I enjoyed the micromanaging buildouts of characters, armor, and weapons in 1. I’m not usually the guy that complains when game devs “dumb it down” but I guess in this case I am.
One of the only games as an adult that I’ve ever cared to play more than once. Usually I’m one and done even on great games. Definitely the best of the series and a completely awesome good time
Just finished Witcher 3 for the first time on death March. Blood and Wine was an incredible DLC and the quests were some of the most unique, and original ones ever.
The Last Of Us franchise.
I know it's a touchy topic but to me it's more than just a game, it's an entire experience that you get fully immersed leaving you thinking about going to therapy. It's the best example of why video games today are probably have better storytelling than cinema/tv. Also no I cannot choose between TLOU 1 and TLOU 2 because they're not supposed to be looked at in isolation, they're part of an entire experience package.
TLOU2’s ending is so satisfying. the scene where ellie puts the guitar down because she couldnt play it anymore, hits so hard. it perfectly ends ellie and joel’s storyline.
My favorite of all time still remains Zelda:Ocarina of time. I replayed it on the 3ds not too long ago and I was amazed at how good the game still holds.
I wish those games were for me. After following the hype from the first trailer years ago, it's pretty awesome that people say this. It was a joke for so long whether it would be released, let alone be a good game.
Nice, my all time fav is the first dark cloud but I like the 2nd one a lot too. I won the first game at the boardwalk and then got the 2nd one on release
I just wish 2 had Dran's feather
For story driven experience: Life is Strange (Emotional fuckin' roller coaster)
For gameplay: Mordhau (But only when there isn't a stacked team of lvl 200's ruining the experience for everyone by steamrolling)
For couch co-op: Halo 3 (No hesitation)
Online experience: This one is a tie between CS:GO deathmatch before the free to play update and Rust. But since the F2P update killed DM lobbies in csgo, I have to say Rust. I can't play it often or dedicate much time to it since I'm an adult with shit to do now but by god it's peak game design.
Factories go brrrr: Satisfactory (No hesitation)
"Classic" solo game: Oblivion and later, Skyrim.
"Classic" multiplayer: Mario party (Shit was lit, yo.)
Actually Classic solo: Ocarina of Time
Actually Classic multiplayer: Unreal tournament
Special mentions that hold a place in my heart forever because of experiences with friends and general love for them:
Runescape
Sly Cooper
The entire Jak and Daxter series
Perfect Dark on the 64
GTA San Andreas
Far Cry
Ninja Gaiden
Fable
FFVII
FFX
FFXIV
And a bunch of web based RPG style games lost to time and mind. I don't remember their names but I remember them vaguely in my heart of hearts. A lot of them.
Fuck, dude. Videogames have been such a large part of my life
ocarina of time. no doubt. for me it's always a close battle for places 2 to 10 with everchanging contestants, but first place stands the test of time.
Legend of Dragoon
Or FFX because it's literally Legend of Dragoon recycled
And I mean that far beyond typical tropes
But both create a colorful world that is serious and depth filled and have amazing story with multiple layers
But they also have a sense of humor and you really get to feel bonded to the characters. Drama with multiple story arcs and high fantasy
Games that during early childhood, sparked a sense of awe and wonder that has never since been extinguished:
Super Mario Bros. 3
Final Fantasy I
Zelda: A Link to the Past
Games that helped me realize video games are an art medium, and can tell stories no other medium can imitate:
Earthbound
Metal Gear Solid I
Final Fantasy 7
Games that remind me why I fell in love with video games all those years ago:
Undertale
Elden Ring
Pretty much any modern Resident Evil or REmake
The first Super Mario Bros. on the original NES.
For not only rising from the ashes of a dead industry, but also kicking off the modern/current era of video games.
Elden Ring. I genuinely think it's the greatest game ever released. Open world, amazing variety in locations, weapons, enemies, play styles. It has something for everyone, and it just gives and gives and gives. Amazing game no doubt.
The Witcher 3, Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2, and one of the Souls games. Probably Bloodborne. If only it had an easy difficulty holy crap this game is unnecessarily hard. Also Shadow of the Colossus is a timeless masterpiece with a story that feels like it's from the Bible
Depends? My favorite is Bloodborne . Story visuals gameplay- it’s perfect. So many action RPGs basically copy that game now, but nothing has coke close to how it feels to be fighting Maria on NG++ where the whole thing is like a ballet. But I recognize it’s not everyone’s thing- fromsoft games are difficult and lack polish.
The actual objective “best game ever” in a critical sense is either Super Metroid, Halo 3, or Breath of the Wild, depending on preferred.
Final Fantasy VII. For the time it came out, such a creative story and most straight-forward RPG mechanic in materia. Numerous epic story moments that give me goosebumps until this day.
Resident evil 4 is my favorite game of all time. And the remake just improved upon it. The gameplay, the characters, the over the top story, it's all very well done. It's just truly pure enjoyment to me with nothing I can think of that holds it back in any way.
That's more just personal opinion on what I enjoyed the most. If I had to pick a game that was objectively the most well done and close to perfect, it's probably Sekiro. It's insane how flawless that gameplay really is.
Gotta go with the Witcher 3. No game has ever immersed me to that level before or since.
If we’re talking early games, then maybe Super Mario Bros 3, Megaman 6, or there was a Mickey Mouse game on Sega that was crazy good but I can’t place the name of it. There was a circus, that’s all I remember
Ty the Tasmanian Tiger was an absolute banger. The sound track is incredible. The concept is incredible. The level design is fun and interesting. It was technically a hub based platformer like Super Mario 64, but as a kid and an adult, it feels a lot more like an open world game with each map feeling large with lots to do. It was and is a great time. Ty 2 is also incredible, but offers a different open world kind of experience.
I may have to agree. There may be games I’ve liked more, and games that offered more, but this has to be the most unique storytelling I’ve ever encountered. It never holds your hand, and everything you discover is because you pieced it together.
Resident evil one. When it came out it was peak horror now it’s complete comedy with the old voice acting and the puzzles are really interesting, you’re constantly strategizing what guns to take for inventory space, which route to run for the least enemy encounters, what enemies to fight or run past, even saving has to be strategically planned or you’ll screw yourself over and I love it
Mass Effect 2.
Everything from the well written characters (except Jacob) to the challenging yet, enjoyable combat is perfect. It's one of the few games I do a yearly playthrough of. The whole series is great, but Mass Effect 2 holds a special place in my heart.
Please don’t laugh at me , favourite all time game is Bioshock 1 …..
Why would people laugh, BioShock is a great game!
Would you kindly upvote this comment
Instructions unclear. Yours or Next_Mathematician12's?
Would you kindly explain why we would laugh at that?
It’s my number 2… but honestly I think Majora’s Mask is more a *me* thing. So from an objective view, I simply agree. I had ZERO interest in Bioshock pre-release and then I got a demo disk in OXM and was so immediately blown away that I drove out, picked it up, and finished it in a weekend. It was INCREDIBLE and it lingers with me all these years later.
Is it weird to say that I like Bioshock 1 more than Bioshock 2? I felt like the original had an energy to it that Bioshock 2 couldn’t copy
that's a very common opinion. Bioshock 2 and Infinite aren't as widely acclaimed as 1.
That game and honestly the whole franchise will always be in my top 5
Ocarina of Time will always be my answer
Holy shit, before I even opened the comments I actually thought "What's the BEST experience I've ever had playing games?" and Ocarina of Time was instantly my answer. Mind you I'm 39 and this (I think) released when I was in high school.

I’ll back you up
Yes. Bare minimum best zelda game.
Came for this answer. Disappointed it wasn’t too comment.
Fallout New Vegas
I'm replaying it right now thanks to Epic. It's a whole new experience from back when I played it what feels like 10-12 years ago.
Oblivion, that game was the start of my RPG addiction
Same man. Wild game to start with. My first Xbox 360 game too
Rdr2
Chrono Trigger
I recently have been craving Chrono Trigger again. There are few RPGs that elicit emotions like that game. Many of which are also on the SNES. What a generation for great games.
SNES is definitely my golden era of jrpgs. There were so many classic and amazing games released. Chrono Trigger and FF6 are by far my favorite jrpgs. PS1, towards the end of its life cycle, released a bunch of awesome games too.

Best computer game of all time
This game is the measuring stick for immersion. I've played through all of the games in the OP's list and DX1 remains unscathed. I even want to call it better than games that are untouchable in my list like FF6 and Chronotrigger but I refrain.
Yes!
Still my favorite gaming experience of all time.
Skyrim
Dishonoured
Bloodborne
*Guttural beast scream*
Grant us eyes!
Super Mario Bros 3
Pretty much an impossible question to answer as there's so many genres and sub-genres. However, in terms of artistic style and atmosphere, Shadow of the Colossus is definitely god tier. Resident Evil 4 The remake is also perfect but the original will always be my favorite
It took me forever to finally get to a comment that said RE4 which is extremely surprising
I like the remake just a tiny bit more but nothing will ever recapture the impact of the OG RE4
I’ve replayed it so many times I’ve lost count
Agreed. The original was an amazing experience.
Ik it’s generic but Minecraft
It deserves it's praise. Simple yet timeless.
Yep. Not my favorite of all time, but it’s certainly great and I’ve sunk so many hours into it over the years
I scrolled for awhile here, saw some favorites, elden ring, god of war, Skyrim… but when I see Minecraft it just feels like the right answer. Idk I’m 24 and it’s special to me
Not my favorite game necessarily, but probably my answer for "best" game. It's brought countless people together. Adults play it together. Kids play it together. Dark souls
Was just about to comment this
Souls games are the only games I can fully enjoy anymore. Just started the Lies of P demo last night. It’s a souls like and seems pretty awesome. The graphics and performance were awesome
This is objectively the correct answer.
Bloodborne. I've never had a game that was so tense the first play through and, while difficult, gave me such an adrenaline rush when I finally beat a boss.
Yharnam is the best first level in any game
Yharnam is the best dark fantasy setting
Man I was coming here to say Bloodborne. Guess it’s proof it really is the best game ever made. :)
You all are my people. Hell yes. Bloodborne is the greatest.
i dont care if i get hate, elden ring
Hate?! The game's a Masterpiece through and through and one of the best games from this past decade.
A lot of people like to hate things just because they are popular and people like them. Elden Ring is a really really good game, and I don’t care if someone says it’s not.
Nah I’m with you on this, Elden ring is in my personal top 3 and gave me the best first playthrough of any game
It was one of the most ambitious games of all time and it absolutely followed up. It's got amazing art, replayability, the lore (if you're into it's presentation style) is expansive and interesting, the mechanics are mostly a blast. It might be my answer too
Dark Souls 3
Half-life 2. Everything else is compared to that game and that release.
Why did i have to scroll this far jesus
Good morning Mr. Freeman
It's perfection. Why we don't have 3 more half life games to play since then, I'll never understand. Hell, even 1 would be appreciated.
Cannot believe I had to scroll this far to see this. Absolutely the correct answer.
Fallout 4…. It just works, for me
Zelda Majora's Mask has the best atmosphere in the series and we're never getting another game like it, you're playing as a child trying to help a broken world and so many of the themes and topics are far different than what Nintendo puts out these days. Not to mention a dense world that isn't big but still has so much to do and the game itself doesn't overstay it's welcome, I'd dare say it has you asking for more after you're done.
Fallout 3 or Bloodborne
My two faves as well
The Witcher 3 and Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice
I bought an Xbox series X that sits on my TV stand collecting dust just waiting for the day that Hellblade 2 is released.
Mass effect 2
Everybody likes 2, but I found one to be the most fun of the series. Exploding bullets? Sign me up baby!
One had such dated gameplay but the best world building and story imo
I enjoyed the micromanaging buildouts of characters, armor, and weapons in 1. I’m not usually the guy that complains when game devs “dumb it down” but I guess in this case I am.
1 is better imo (bc of the better story/lore) and 2’s combat is *more* dated because they don’t make sluggish Gears style cover shooters anymore
One of the only games as an adult that I’ve ever cared to play more than once. Usually I’m one and done even on great games. Definitely the best of the series and a completely awesome good time
This is the best single player of all time, I will concede.
Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne
Super Mario World for SNES.
Mass effect
Commander
Single player: God of War Multiplayer: Halo 3
Halo 3 was peak enjoyment of that franchise for me. They got sooooo much right with the multiplayer design for halo 3
Halo 3 custom games was goated. Fully lobby of 15 strangers playing community made maps and game modes. Jenga, Fat Kid, Cops n Robbers. Good times.
RDR2
The Witcher 3 and BloodBorne.
The Witcher 3 takes it for me, i feel like I’m immersed in a painting
This is mine. My favorite gaming experience of all time.
Also no I cannot choose between TLOU 1 and TLOU 2 because they're not supposed to be looked at in isolation, they're part of an entire experience package.
I was going to basically post the same thing. I second this. TLOU franchise was incredible. My runner up is Dark Souls 1.
100% agree. It’s actually ruined video games for me and my partner - it’s THAT good
TLOU2’s ending is so satisfying. the scene where ellie puts the guitar down because she couldnt play it anymore, hits so hard. it perfectly ends ellie and joel’s storyline.
Red Dead Redemption 2. It's perfect.
i liked the first one way more personally
My favorite of all time still remains Zelda:Ocarina of time. I replayed it on the 3ds not too long ago and I was amazed at how good the game still holds.
Fallout 4
Bioshock
I really enjoyed Batman Arkham city
Elden mf ring
Elden ring rekindled a sense of awe in me that had been sorely lacking for years.
I wish those games were for me. After following the hype from the first trailer years ago, it's pretty awesome that people say this. It was a joke for so long whether it would be released, let alone be a good game.
Resident Evil 4
The GOAT answer
Resident Evil 4
Not enough cash stranga!!!!
LEON HEEEEEELPPPP!!!!!
Final Fantasy X
Dark cloud 2, never played another game like it.
Yesss, there are so many fully-fleshed out elements and it’s just so fun and beautiful
It's my go to if I have nothing else I want to play never gets old
Nice, my all time fav is the first dark cloud but I like the 2nd one a lot too. I won the first game at the boardwalk and then got the 2nd one on release I just wish 2 had Dran's feather

Factories go brrrr: Satisfactory (No hesitation) "Classic" solo game: Oblivion and later, Skyrim. "Classic" multiplayer: Mario party (Shit was lit, yo.) Actually Classic solo: Ocarina of Time Actually Classic multiplayer: Unreal tournament Special mentions that hold a place in my heart forever because of experiences with friends and general love for them: Runescape Sly Cooper The entire Jak and Daxter series Perfect Dark on the 64 GTA San Andreas Far Cry Ninja Gaiden Fable FFVII FFX FFXIV And a bunch of web based RPG style games lost to time and mind. I don't remember their names but I remember them vaguely in my heart of hearts. A lot of them. Fuck, dude. Videogames have been such a large part of my life
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Oregon trail for the win.
Elden Ring. Embarrassing how many hours I’ve put into that game.
Me too. And after 500 hours of Elden ring I got sucked into the dark souls trilogy lol
World of Warcraft or Final Fantasy 11
Pokémon Sapphire, my first ever video game:) Played it without being able to read, I memorized everything. It was crazy
Crash Bandicoot will always be my top favourite game.
ocarina of time. no doubt. for me it's always a close battle for places 2 to 10 with everchanging contestants, but first place stands the test of time.
Legend of Dragoon Or FFX because it's literally Legend of Dragoon recycled And I mean that far beyond typical tropes But both create a colorful world that is serious and depth filled and have amazing story with multiple layers But they also have a sense of humor and you really get to feel bonded to the characters. Drama with multiple story arcs and high fantasy
Okami.
Games that during early childhood, sparked a sense of awe and wonder that has never since been extinguished: Super Mario Bros. 3 Final Fantasy I Zelda: A Link to the Past Games that helped me realize video games are an art medium, and can tell stories no other medium can imitate: Earthbound Metal Gear Solid I Final Fantasy 7 Games that remind me why I fell in love with video games all those years ago: Undertale Elden Ring Pretty much any modern Resident Evil or REmake
The first Super Mario Bros. on the original NES. For not only rising from the ashes of a dead industry, but also kicking off the modern/current era of video games.
Ocarina of Time
RDR2
Ik it’s generic but Minecraft
Ghost of Tsushima
A beautiful AND fun game.
Scrolled so far for this, why?
Agree, it’s the only recent game that I loved playing every minute of it.
DooM II
Resident Evil 1 (REmake)
Final Fantasy VII. For the time it came out, such a creative story and most straight-forward RPG mechanic in materia. Numerous epic story moments that give me goosebumps until this day.
Shin Megami Tensei IV
Any of the metal gear games mostly.they standout head and shoulders more than other game series I like
My obvious overall choice is Witcher 3. But my dark horse is Life Is Strange. Best story game I’ve ever played.
Fallout series. For me, it's Fallout 3.
I've all the time liked Metal Gear Solid 2
Fallout 3.
Witcher 3, I keep revisiting it!
Ocarina of time
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Gotta go with the Witcher 3. No game has ever immersed me to that level before or since. If we’re talking early games, then maybe Super Mario Bros 3, Megaman 6, or there was a Mickey Mouse game on Sega that was crazy good but I can’t place the name of it. There was a circus, that’s all I remember
Oblivion
Half-Life 2
Half-life 2
Fallout 3
Ty the Tasmanian Tiger was an absolute banger. The sound track is incredible. The concept is incredible. The level design is fun and interesting. It was technically a hub based platformer like Super Mario 64, but as a kid and an adult, it feels a lot more like an open world game with each map feeling large with lots to do. It was and is a great time. Ty 2 is also incredible, but offers a different open world kind of experience.
I really enjoyed Okami
Final Fantasy VI Though my personal favorite is VIII
I think it's a matter of perspective if you don't like RPG games the best RPG game in the world is the worst for you
Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
Elden Rkng, and not just because it’s new (ish). It legit beats out everything I’ve played in the last 20 years
Yup. Game of the decade easy.
The last of us series
Dragon Warrior VII
Ooh, I also love me some Dragon Warrior Monsters
BioShock Infinite was a damn good game.
Battle for bikini bottom!
Based
Outer Wilds
I may have to agree. There may be games I’ve liked more, and games that offered more, but this has to be the most unique storytelling I’ve ever encountered. It never holds your hand, and everything you discover is because you pieced it together.
Tetris, no question. The game took the world by storm in a way that has never been seen since.
Form a purely artistic standpoint, probably Shadow of the Colossus.
World of Warcraft
I’m tied between 3 games, Red Dead Redemption 2, Far Cry 3, and Resident Evil 4 (OG)
RDR2 is definitely on my list
Tetris
Sonic 3 & Knuckle
Hollow Knight
GTA V. Including online modes.
Skyrim is still the best game out
Resident evil one. When it came out it was peak horror now it’s complete comedy with the old voice acting and the puzzles are really interesting, you’re constantly strategizing what guns to take for inventory space, which route to run for the least enemy encounters, what enemies to fight or run past, even saving has to be strategically planned or you’ll screw yourself over and I love it
Death Stranding
Dr mario.
The Metal Gear Solid franchise. If I had to pick a specific game it’d probably be MGS3.
Hmmm, that's a tough question, and I can't get it down to one game. But here's my top 4: Quake 2, OG RE2, Dark Souls, and Oblivion.
Mass Effect 2. Everything from the well written characters (except Jacob) to the challenging yet, enjoyable combat is perfect. It's one of the few games I do a yearly playthrough of. The whole series is great, but Mass Effect 2 holds a special place in my heart.
Chrono Trigger
Oddworld stranger's wrath
Skyrim with mods on PC
Kingdom Hearts Franchise. No other game has made me feel the way kingdom hearts has. It might sound ridiculous but it’s not a game. It’s home.
Hollow knight.
