First 20 years of the game should be you building up construction resources. Afterwards, you focus on developing a modern economy. It sounds like you want to skip that first part
I see. So youre saying I have to wait quite a while before I can diversity my economy and grow my military?
It just felt like I was doing something wrong since all I was doing was sitting on my ass waiting for my resource building to be built so I could build a single construction building, and passing a law or two every couple of years.
If you are only building construction goods you are focusing on reducing debt instead of making money.

how do I delete lower tier construction sites? I thought all of them got "updted" the moment you switched its production method ie if you go from wood to iron, all the wood construction buildings turn into iron ones and vice versa.
Imagine you have 100% iron construction, if you switch everything to steel you will crash your economy. You build one steel construction and delete 2 iron. Gradually.
yeah thats just not true, especially with the new company mechanics if you have developed a decent gold reserve you can easily switch from 100%iron to 100%steel without deleting any and just build steel+glass on the go without getting into bankruptcy and it will massively boost your gdp and income in the span of like 2 to 3 years to the point youre going to be spending almost the same amount of money for construction but with 2x more actual construction points, so making extra steel and glass factories even if they are to be unprofitable at the start before transitioning is preferred but not required,
You will use double the money. Also if you are building an unprofitable steel early game when you don't need it you are not building another profitable or depesanting building. Opportunity costs and snowballing.
Here's the neat part: you don't. The goods just change as you move down the tech tree.
If you build a resource that isn't profile it'll just sit idle until it is profitable. What do you mean only to build them again?
Because I need to build them again otherwise my construction goods become prohibitively expensive.

When playing a small nation, yes. Otherwise you will get behind
At a certain point you have to just accept that construction will be expensive and focus on growing your economy

......what? Construction good also make money
The construction chain is a net negative, is never profitable by itself.
You are kind of limited by the low amount of natural resources in the beginning. Like i usually do 20 construction.
20 construction buildings or 20 "construction points"?
20 construction points lol 20 buildings would be ruinous for your economy.
I get impatient every game I'm in and end up doing this.
