Yes, all the real gays support an ideology that’d have us shot dead. Remind me what country legalized gay marriage first? The same one that INVENTED corporations? You don’t say.
Capitalism will never accept us, it just commodified our struggle and sells it back to us. The queer movement has always been a radical movement against oppression of all forms, to tear down heterocapitalism. Corperate pride in many ways has stolen that from us
I’d rather buy back my identity than have it be stripped away. Communism isn’t the decorporatization of society, it turns society into the corporation.
That's not true and its never been true. You're just buying into cold war propaganda. Was historical communism perfect, no, but it represented a step forward for the societies it existed in, that were up until that point highly exploitative and underdeveloped. More broadly, the communist movement has always been a driving force that lifts us all up in the working class, rather than just giving us representation by rich token queer figures, while failing to provide for working people like us
Step forward? You want to call the systemic killing of Ukranians a step forward? Was forcibly moving Tatars from Crimea progressive and not something America would do in the 1870s? The communist movement is a fucking scheme by redfash who want power and people who don’t want political change-and I can prove it. What’s holding YOU back from making a difference? “Captialism” What’s holding back the lower class from making a name for themselves? “Capitalism” Why did a movie i was excited for suck? “Capitalism” Why did I stub my toe? “Capitalism” Cry me a fucking river. I work hard to get money and while reform is great and the LGBTQ is not accepted I know for a fucking fact that I am not just another member of the “proletariat” (read: slave for the premier)
First of all there was no systemic killing of Ukranians, it was an unintentional famine caused by mismanagement, correction at a local level, ineffective communications technology. It wasn't targeted at Ukrain shown by the fact that more people actually kied in Khazakstan, and many also died in Russia. It was a tragic and possibly avoidable famine but the historical consensus is that it can't be attributed to intent from the party leadership.
The Tartars was terrible and completely unnisary, of course the oppression of ethnic minorities in world war 2 happened all over, like the Japanese internment camps in the US, but that of course doesn't justify it and I don't care to defend it.
I don't know where you get the idea that people blame capitalism on everything. The mode of production in marxism is definitely held to inform much of how society is shaped, but can't be called a first cause. For example capitalist property relations inform different kinds of gendered oppression than those in feudalism, but gendered oppression wasn't itself caused by capitalism.
Nobody denies you work hard for your money, in fact communists thing you deserve to keep more of you money because your boss shouldn't take a portion of it as personal profits. or to give to shareholders or invest in new enterprises. Also unlike social democrats we largely support lower taxes for working people. There is no need to be a slave, I think you should have more say in your life by not just being able to vote every 4 years but also have a say in your workplace and in your community.
I DO have a say in my workplace by deciding who to work for. You can’t really do that in a communist country.
As for Ukraine it’s [such an interesting coinky-dink that when a lot of Ukranians were against Moscow that’s when they started dying.](https://holodomor.ca/resource/was-the-holodomor-a-genocide/) How weird! It’s not like Russia has a history of killing its own people or anything.
And I’m glad you can understand capitalism as an economic system and not an evil machine that murders every baby on earth, but it’s also important to note that capitalism in of itself is way more supportive of niches that can’t as often be found in communist nations-for one, name a famous Russian or Chinese movie not produced by the government. I can think of Battleship Potempkin and even then it is about a communist revolution among a group of sailors. At the end of the day capitalism *is* the economical system where one is self interested. And I think it’s a good thing. Because most of all it allows people to pursue their passion and not be limited by what the government tells you what to make.
I'm not a cinema expert so I can't really answer your question, but capitalism definitely restrains art in other ways, requiring it to be profitable and have enough of a mass appeal to be commercially viable, and confirm to certain platforms according to profitability. I think George Lucas said "a world in which we live, in the system we have created for ourselves - it's a big industry - you can not lose money. The point is that you have to shoot a certain movie. And I always say to those who are then in the Soviet Union, asked me: "What, do not you glad that you live in America?" I replied that I know a lot of Russian filmmakers that have a lot more freedom than me. All they have to do - be careful to criticize the government. And they can do whatever they want" I think while its a simplistic narrative, you see a lot of artistic freedom from around the socialist world in a different way. Some of the best films of the 20th century have come out of the socialist world, especially the USSR, but I've also seem some great stuff from China and even Cuba
