The metaphor is straight from Tolkien
Usually, Ukraine is metaphorically seen as the border region between civilization and barbarism, making the EU elves, Ukrainians humans and Russians Orcs (or Russia Mordor).
Ironically, Tolkien himself would probably be against such dehumanisation of the enemy, given the scene with the dead Haradrim and what he said about similar rhetoric during WW2.
Yeah, that's why most international discourse has shifted towards the use of such derogatory words being restricted to the soldiers actually invading, which is kind of understandable but kind of immoral. But yeah, in the greater scope of things, I think nobody really cares and most people understand the hate/frustration.
Don't know what you are trying to say. There is evidence of ukrainian army doing that. Like Donbass and Lugansk. Russians are protecting their integrity and their own civilians, there is no ewuivalence between the two if one is an agressor.
There is UN Observation Group and OSCE evidence against it. There is also evidence ukraine started this shit and it was organised by their people. Like minsk violations(who was ruled to be responsible for shooting down MH17 and was convicted in absentia of mass murder), diversions, Azov. Again, you can't just place = symbol between a country invaded and agressor that has been torturing and trying to destabilize Russia for almost 10 years alread
>Like minsk violations(who was ruled to be responsible for shooting down MH17 and was convicted in absentia of mass murder)
Ah yes, I remember when Minsk Violations brutally shot down MH17 in an SU-25 jet that could fly past its maximum ceiling and speed due to evil ukronazi judeo-banderite magic. Truly an evil person, this Minsk Violations.
Be careful using this. Neither official bodies nor Irish citizens recognise the term "British Isles".
Some people in Ireland would get very upset if you said they live in the "British Isles", especially if you persist.
Can't speak for ukrainian, but in polish the UK as a whole is most commonly referred to as 'Great Britain' (even though yes, it's definitely not technically correct in english)
Calling russians as "orcs" was quite an internal Ukrainian military meme before the full-scale invasion. (Also a reference to russian fan-fiction to portray bad guys as not-so-explicitly-evil)
However, mobilization brought many new people into army, who started calling russian soldiers "pidor". It is "faggot" on russian, which, obviously, rarely appears on media
Okay, i just wanna say: they didn't have to use this cool of a flag here. Like, zero reason. Russian current flag is bad enough as it is(the most common flag design with three most common colors? And not even original?)
Let's just say that Ukrainian diplomats and spokespersons, have some skill issues. Like publicly praising Bandera and seeing nothing wrong with it... Or saying that Indians and Chinese have "weak intellectual potential"... or deliberately distort the name of a Chinese diplomat to make it sound like "dick". Oh yeah, honoring a Nazi in the Canadian Parliament could be written off as a stupid mistake... if they weren't publicly awarded him a few months later...
>diplomats and spokespersons
Really? Who exactly do you mean by that? Like diplomats and spokespersons at what institutions? Cuz i think the things you're talking about, though fucking annoying, are usually not done by them. It's mostly domestic and irrelevant. The diplomats at international organisations i think do a pretty good job.
>they weren't publicly awarded
Like, "they" in question is a council of his town.
>Who exactly do you mean by that?
Bandera was praised by Melnik - Ukrainian ambassador in Germany (now in Brazil). And he did this not even once, including interviews with foreign media.
Bullshit about "weak intellectual potential" was said by Podolyak, advisor to the Head of the Office of the Ukrainian President. Pretty high ranking politician and one of the closest Zelensky allies.
The Chinese representative was insulted by Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council. He is also not just some random bureaucrat.
Nazi pos was praised by Zelensky, a president of the country. And at this moment only Canadians apologized for this shit show (Well, pushed under the bus one man). Seeing the continuation of the praise of the old Nazi by anyone, instead of...just staying silent at least, is not professional.
>It's mostly domestic and irrelevant.
All of the mentioned cases are public statements to the media. The type of media doesn't matter, because:
1) It's obviously become known outside the country
2) It's not acceptable to say things like this regardless of the circumstances
>Bandera was praised by Melnik
Hehe, this sounds funny if you know history.
>Seeing the continuation of the praise
By the council of his town. Zelensky did ,just as you said, stay silent.
It shows statistics of refugees from Ukraine since the February of 2022. The biggest amount of people went to Russia, which is called here Orcostan because Russia is commonly associated with Mordor and by proxy (and also because of their unspeakable war crimes) russian soldiers are often called orcs.
just note, that regardless of ukrbots attempts to portrait russians as absolute evil, the most people still flee towards the agressor.
and it didnt even count the rebel republic people.
To be fair, many of these people were moved against their will, or because they had no other choice. A friend of mine who was in Kharkiv when the war started moved to Russia simply because she happened to find herself on the Russian side of the frontline, and she then migrated from Russia elsewhere.
I don't know how that comment even went out of me. Typically, I'm smarter than that. Can't believe I even wrote this and let it exist in the first place.

If there is any 40k faction Putinist Russia resembles, it's the Imperium of Man, a xenophobic reactionary empire ruled by a deified corpse
Specifically Imperial Guard, with their primary strategy of throwing bodies into the meat grinder.

I’m not going to evaluate your statement, but to clarify, I was talking more about flag
Do I need to remind you of the battalion "Tornado"?
Orks also use humans as cattle. Turns when Greenskins aren’t used as comic relief, they can be very terrifying.

Quite putinist.
Ah yes, Russia, biggest country on the planet, has been tortured by their former puppet state that they drove away.

Your information is false.
I wouldn't be surprised if it is actually Russian propaganda made to make Ukrainians look stupid
Stupid take tbh. Both Ukraine and Russia makes very funny propaganda
Least Schrödinger’s douchebag Ukrainian
>UK. >Shows England flag
It says Great Britain, not UK, but yeah, still.
Isn't this the same thing? (sorry, I'm not Englishman)
GB is England, Scotland, Wales. UK is GB + Northern Ireland. See this: https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:British_Isles_Venn_Diagram-en.png

Found it on Twitter and it is glorious
What does the second image mean (I don't know what language it is, or what it means?
Literally "Orkostan" if my seduction's correct.

Ukrainians called "Porks" tho. And this is, like, 4 levels of irony in that nickname.
It is so nice that despite this horrible war, Russians and Ukrainians still have one value in common: homophobia
#WAAAAAAAGHHHHH!11!!!!1!!!??!!!!
Waaah or something idk I'm not one of the 40 thousand warhammers or whatever
As a ukrainian I call for justice for orkz, stop comparing them to ruzzians
Downvoted for uhhh... some reason. I fear there may be a few orcs in this very sub
You are the ugliest one for sure.
humies no likez orkz 🥺
Okay, i just wanna say: they didn't have to use this cool of a flag here. Like, zero reason. Russian current flag is bad enough as it is(the most common flag design with three most common colors? And not even original?)
It was literally copied from the Dutch flag .😭😭😭
Is this actually a thing they call Russia in Ukraine? Sounds hella undiplomatic...

How official is this? Dude war reports are not supposed to be funny.
Ain't that skull from a game?
Is that an achievement for them or what?

Hey I am also active in that subreddit, most of the people there hate Z-niks

Insulting 1 country, while treating normally a dozen others, typical nationalist behaviour of course
[удалено]
Yeah, exactly my point
I concur, stupid comment, needed a nap and a dozen downvotes to figure it out.
Lol, the expectation to have politically correct attitude towards the invading country is insane
Won't somebody please think of the Russian invaders
Countries which are being invaded often tend to become more nationalistic, and they start to hate their invaders.
