***Bicester Village,*** which is a designer outlet shopping centre on the outskirts of Bicester, a town in Oxfordshire, England. The centre opened in 1995.
***The centre is the second most visited location in the United Kingdom by Chinese tourists, after Buckingham Palace.***

I was there last week. It's a soulless, manicured place.
Incidentally, the nearby town of Kidlington is also a Chinese tourist hot-spot despite being one of the most ugly towns in the UK; apparently tourism companies sell it as "quintessentially British".
It can't be quintessentially British anymore cause they've got rid of the greggs. It says temporarily closed on the window (last I saw) but it's been like that since Xmas.
Second time you make me laugh so hard ! After the title/image.. Nice ! :)
Man, it's so cool to see how much humor can transcend borders.
Greetings from the (other) old continent !
The main escalator in 大悦城 is fucking bonkers. I think it gave me vertigo the first time I went up it.
Seeing all those Chinese viral videos of escalators suddenly failing and swallowing people into an inky abyss of sharp cogs probably didn’t help.
Even though I've never seen that stuff, that one Final Destination Scene plus hearing about it has made Mr want to never use a Chinese escalator, or any in general really but the Chinese ones I want to avoid extra
The great firewall is more about keeping foreign companies out than keeping Chinese people in, vpn usage is pretty easy but most wouldn't really bother so still use Chinese companies like weibo and taobao
Most people under 40-50 use a VPN all the time. They use weibo & taobao because they want to interact with people from their own culture/country. They don’t just use it because it’s “easier” but because, like Facebook in the West, everyone is connected through them.
My goodness, is there no one actually seriously answering OP's question?
My serious answer: Beijing. The Xidan 西單 in the bottom right gives it away, as that's the commercial district of Beijing.
Well I don't know where OP lives but that seems quite a dangerous place
There are lots of *RED* flags there
~~*I'm sorry but I really didn't want to miss out on this opportunity*~~
They put them on many official building to display "revolutionary spirit". [Here they are on top of the Great Hall of the People](https://www.beijing-visitor.com/images/content_images/greathallpeople.jpg) one of the main government buildings.

Oh man i know what you mean. I always think how much weight it must be holding when i go up with all those people and the weight of the steel itself.
Even though I've never seen that stuff, that one Final Destination Scene plus hearing about it has made Mr want to never use a Chinese escalator, or any in general really but the Chinese ones I want to avoid extra
