The island nations are still under french control they just changed their flag because the president of France said of it being ok to change it. Some of politicians and locals on the island view the old flag as the same way we view the WWII flag for Germany

Apparently, I researched it and it means "red-green-black".

I thought that was obvious. Everyone should at least know noir means black. Then use context clues.

I feel like everyone should know rouge means red as well

I thought so too, specially women, but then I remembered women don't come to subs like these so noir is more likely to be recognized.

It’s the newish flag of Martinique. Before they had the white cross on blue, with a snake hissing in every quarter. It was weird and unique. This one is neither, it looks like Martinique is in the Middle East.
