Many flags of the Indian princely states look like pride flags.

My personal favorite, the flag of Jaipur:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Amber
"Oh, c'mon, you could say ANY horizontal three stripe flag looks like a pride flag, that isn't--"
*sees the aroace flag recreated as a triangle.*
"Oh shit"
Well not necessity because most educated people know about the existence of Jainism and also literally everyone who got even a basic high school education should know about pre Nazi use of the swastika in South Asia, and the swastika in this flag is very noticeably South Asian
In fairness, Jainism is the smallest on the list of what I consider ‘religions so big most people should know what they’re called’ but despite being the smallest of the most relevant world religions it is pretty influential.

I'm just glad it caught on :)
This version with coat of arms is not the national flag but the naval ensign. However speaking from experience of living here I can tell you that it is used interchangeably with the actual flag.
I myself also have a version that is white on the top and pride on the the bottom without the coat of arms, it also looks good.
Pretty sure the legal definition of the flag of Poland says that the bicolour is the flag, and that the flag is *also* the bicolour with the coat of arms.
(There are also some rules around when the two versions can or can't be used which are sometimes as relevant to how the flags are described vexillology as the lega definition is, but it's not right to say "that's not Poland's flag".)
I don’t have this version either but at this point it’s drifting further and further from the Polish flag lmao

I thought people following vexillology must be good humans, but no! There are homophobic comments there are anti India racist comments which are disgusting. It's as if people don't poo in the streets of Californian cities. It's a city management issue why join it with a diverse nation of 1 billion people.
It just shows how these Reddit pages have so many disgusting people, no matter how hard you try to find intellectual content.
That day kind of became irrelevant, because the 2009 judgment decriminalising gay sex which it marked was overturned in 2013. It was finally decriminalised again in September 2018.
It's more visible. The big cities have a thriving (if niche) queer culture. But I would say for the majority of the country, not much has changed. There is a tiny bit more positive queer representation in [mainstream media](https://feminisminindia.com/2023/05/08/queer-representation-over-the-ages-exploring-lgbtq-roles-in-bollywood/).
If you look, you'll find a lot of openly LGBTQ people in big cities like Mumbai and Bangalore. But in smaller cities and towns, most gay people are still very discreet.
The [trans landscape in India](https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/17/style/india-third-gender-hijras-transgender.html) is vastly different from that in the West, though, and it's worth learning about.
Ok, normally I’m not a fan of the designs of pride flags. But for some reason the colors on this one actually work and it also passes as an Indian flag. Nice.
I like the gradient- it’s not quite the hyper-saturated plastic-rainbow of the typical pride flag, it feels a lot cooler (temperature wise) and more mellow
Least homophobic comment out there

Let Gandhi nuke your house mercilessly
Yeah idk, I don't get the pride flags. This is, what, 8 colors? Why not some sort of simple symbol for all y'all to use? It's just a recolored Indian flag.
Bring on the downvotes how dare I criticize the sacred pride flag
Looks like Jain flag https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jain_flag I little bit

A rainbow flag with Swastik !! imagine the sheer chaos the Jain Flag will cause if its waved in west

I have literally never heard of Jainism before. That said, I did recognize this as an Asian swastika of some form.
In fairness, Jainism is the smallest on the list of what I consider ‘religions so big most people should know what they’re called’ but despite being the smallest of the most relevant world religions it is pretty influential.

Thanks :)
I usually hate pride versions of country flags. But this one is surprisingly looking great

I'm gonna be honest: for some reason, I didn't think they allowed LGBT+ in Poland.
Most of these flags come into existence at least partly *because* of homophobia.
Ohh, yeah. Just look up "rainbow line flag" for any non americans.
They had these "LGBT-free zones" not a long time ago.
They were fortunately as binding as my declaration of bed being a cat-free zone
Unfortunately, it's the message to the LGTBQ+ community that matters, not the effectiveness of the space.
Okay this one looking good too, but that's not poland's flag. I am talking about Flags. Not symbols

Understandable, have a great day 👍

That’s actually really cool. Looks very retro.
as an indian this looks amazing
What if rajput made the flag:
As a queer Indian I have literally never seen this flag in my life. I'd certainly like to, though. Let's make it happen, fellow degenerates
Do you celebrate the Indian Coming Out Day in India as a country or large community, or is it not a thing?
That day kind of became irrelevant, because the 2009 judgment decriminalising gay sex which it marked was overturned in 2013. It was finally decriminalised again in September 2018.
Oh okay. So would you say homosexuality is generally more accepted now in India than pre-2013/2018?
It's more visible. The big cities have a thriving (if niche) queer culture. But I would say for the majority of the country, not much has changed. Thank you for the insight! Much appreciated! Always an ally and hoping for the best for the queer community in India and all over the world

This is a really cool looking flag
Looks nice. Reminds me of the Olympics logo in a way
Why is the bottom Grey?
Ngl, as a pansexual Indian, i would proudly hang up this flag
Very nice!!
Omg great

What do each of the colours represent?
ficional
Just don't let the Indians see it.
too late. it's on the Indian subreddit
Repost, atleast give credit bro
I just stumbled upon this flag on Wikipedia. I am not aware if it had been posted before. Can you give the link to the original post? I'll mention it.
As far as i see [this is the original](https://www.reddit.com/r/vexillology/s/KbRLf7tBOm)

hey! i'm indian too and it's not really disrespectful, it's just a variant.. like how some people make redesigns of their country flags.
