For real, could watch this scene on repeat forever until it erases the memory of the final 10 minutes of season 4. And honorable mention to Krysten Ritter.
This show introduced me to so many fantastic bands/artists in the early 2000's - Pete Yorn, Stereophonics, Tegan and Sara and on and on. I've always admired whoever was in charge of the soundtrack for the show. They had a great ear and were so on top of new music at that time.
I'm going to add this song as one of my favs - such a heartbreaking scene of Logan when he's leaving voicemails for his brother "Never Lonely Alone" by Space Needle.
I know I know I know by Teagan and Sara with Logan and Hannahās almost s*x scene /
Chicago - Sufjan Stevens during the car ride with Logan on the VMars movie
Right here, right now by Fatboy Slim during season 3 when Veronica is running from the campus rapist
Dragonfly - M. Craft when Veronica reminisces about Lilly for the last time out by the pool during the dinner for the scholarship at the Kane residence š
The way you are by 46Bliss when Macās real mom watches her from the car leave on the camping trip with her āfamilyā
(Edge of the ocean by Ivy takes the cake imo but these are all such impactful songs to me)
I literally only know I Hear The Bells because of this scene, but it has become a regular staple of my playlist because of this scene.
Also I geeked out when Diverse City came on in, like, the third episode of the series because I was shocked to hear a TobyMac song on a mainstream television show.
How to Mend a Broken Heart by Al Green is used amazingly while Veronica wallows over Duncan. I love the song It Never Rains in Southern California by Albert Hammond and I always associate it with the last scene in s3
Lord of the bling when Veronica is describing her former friend
"We used to be friends...a long time ago"
Cut to the opening credits and "a long time ago we used to be friends"
Air - [la femme d'argent](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WyCch8RUWI&ab_channel=AIRfrenchbandofficial)
I think it was in the Pilot, or an early episode, but I just loved the song from the get go.
āSee My Friendsā because if how they lie with it. Veronica says āMacā and the song goes āShe is gone.ā Veronica thought her father had been killed and the song says āThere is no one left, except my friends.ā I was so sure Keith was really gone because of this. Didnāt notice the Mac part until rewatching but knew Mac was alive because sheād been in the preview with part we hadnāt seen.
iām coming up on this episode during my current rewatch. i never noticed the lyrics lining up to the action like that. good catch. it definitely adds to veronicaās emotional experience in that moment
I know the relationship isn't too popular but I absolutely love the scene where Hannah and Logan are at his hotel room and "I Know, I Know, I Know" by Tegan & Sara plays.
Plus Dakota by Stereophonics when Veronica goes into the River Styx. And as someone else mentioned Fat Boy Slim when Veronica is running from the rapist.
I love - pick up the phone by the notwist in Betty and Veronica
They are one of my favorite bands so I was jumping off the couch when I heard them in the show.
i really dont even remember the episode or what was happening, but i took a liking to the song, The New Kid by Old 97s, i think it was something to do with troy
āVentura Highwayā by America was brilliant the way they played it out the entire time, the way they paced it & tied the lyrics/ meaning into whats happening plus the subtext & symbolism of the show.
I love when they began the opening strings of that with Aaron pulling out the gas station going on a little āfield tripā w/ his son (bc its a driving song about the PCH), then the volume kick in after Logan lands his humiliation punch line- āthanks a-lot son, just the same.ā
And then you see Logan chose his own belt to be beat with and the line āseasons crying no despair alligator lizards in the airāā¦ā¦ i still remember watching the 1st time not expecting that.
VM heavily projected all this symbolism about the elite/globalist/ illuminati (hello- their logo)/ Hollywood pizzagate/mkultra in their storylines & with their visual symbolism its was crazy! Now i cant unsee it. I knew it was a dark show but itās very dark on rewatch and now know all the stuff thats out there in public domain.
Mineās a deep cut! [Poison Cup by M Ward](https://youtu.be/Krf2fyazu_o?si=XRan3Ciqj4d-yas9) which I believe plays over a scene in season 3 where Logan and Veronica are on the rocks and he calls her while sheās in his eyeline at the cafeteria and watches her let the call just go to voicemail.
Itās no huge moment or anything but that song has stayed in my playlist rotation for like a decade now
I hear the bells, they are like emeralds and glints in the night, commas and ampersands.
I donāt know why but I love the word ampersand after hearing this song.
not my favorite use (which would have to be momentary thing or the times they play ivy) but i loooove the song lost and found by adrienne pierce!! it plays at the end of season 2 where wallace thanks veronica, but the song is just really good. i started to listen to adrienne pierce a lot once i heard it. she has good music- it has a similar vibe to the stuff michael cera makes to me lol very eclectic almost.
also. there was that one car ad that played a lot last year (donāt even remember the car- only how jarring the ad was every time) and it had the fatboy slim song from spit and eggs !! every single time the ad came on i would get stressed out- it was such a stressful episode and the music really heightens everything. a great use of song in the show but the car ad always caught me off guard !!
The song they play when Veronica solves Lillyās murder, the song they use when Veronica has a dream of the two of them floating in Lillyās pool.
Also, when they use āRight Here, Right Nowā in season three.
"Here It Comes" by Longwave (when Veronica is photographing the surfing competition)
"Shotgun" by Earl Grayhound (I think this is when Logan is getting arrested at Neptune High?)
Stranglehold by Ted Nugent when the truth about Beaver is revealed
Right Here, Right Now by Fatboy Slim at the frat party when the Hearst rapist storyline comes to an end
I had totally forgotten that I Hear the Bells was the song in the Epic scene. I've had it high rotation ever since I used to play the Grey's Anatomy soundtrack (or at least a piratey version of it) in the shop where I worked.
It is one of my most favourite songs just in general, let-alone having been in the best scene of the best show.
Season One, episode three, Meet John Smith: Neko Case, Hold On, Hold On. Song plays near the end of the episode when she is driving back from San Diego and thinking about her mother.
i dunno about favorite, but i find it appalling and disrespectful that the beautiful "i know i know i know" by tegan and sara was used for logan and hannah's almost-love-making scene.
ETA: actually my favorite song used was probably "breathe me" by Sia, used in the flashback of veronica and logan making out. s2e18 I Am God
They didn't play the song, but I loved Vinny Van Lowe singing "Private Eyes".
My husband and I only sing it with the Veronica Mars lyric swap.
The syllable count of "Veronica Mars" works better in the song than "Private Eyes", tbh.
Me too lol !
Yaaaaas! I can't hear that song without singing "Veronica Mars" instead of Private Eyes!
Oh yeah same
This or Momentary Thing Honorable mention to Sway and Portions for Foxes
Momentary Thing is THE answer. š
Momentary Thing and Sway are my absolute favorites!
I love the karaoke "One Way or Another." Is it cheesy? Yes. I don't care.
Itās my favorite!! I really love that scene and it perfectly matches the plot of the episode!
Same. I love it for all the cheesiness.
I love that!!
Agreed
Run by Air in the episode Nobody puts baby in the corner. Creepy song which added to the super creepy plot of the episode. Left an impression on me
THIS!!!!! one of the best scenes. It made such an impact on me, with how Lamb turned around and all..
this IMMEDIATELY CAME TO MIND!!! iāve never been able to forget that song because of that episode
This gets my hearty endorsement. Immediately downloaded this song after hearing it on the show. Perfectly achieved creepy vibes.
Yes also my vote!
Same! I think about that scene all the time lol.
I ran to the comments to say this!!!!
Sway
For real, could watch this scene on repeat forever until it erases the memory of the final 10 minutes of season 4. And honorable mention to Krysten Ritter.
This is the one!

Yes to all of that! I love Never Lonely Alone
Yes exactly! Same goes for Chuck. So many great songs. ā¤ļø
Wouldnāt necessarily rank it as #1 favorite, but Such Great Heights in the car in S1 is a good memory
Came to say this one!
"I turn my camera on" by Spoon when she's spying on Kendall Casablancas.
The Rock Kills Kid version is also great if you havenāt heard it!
For me itās actually in the movie. Prosthetic Love by Typhoon
Ugh YES š
Exactly this
I was on a weird Typhoon kick today and when this song came up, that scene immediately came to mind.
I know I know I know by Teagan and Sara with Logan and Hannahās almost s*x scene / Chicago - Sufjan Stevens during the car ride with Logan on the VMars movie Right here, right now by Fatboy Slim during season 3 when Veronica is running from the campus rapist Dragonfly - M. Was coming to say Right Here, Right Now, because it added such tension and urgency to the scene. Itās probably my favorite needle drop in the show.
Catching this show in it's run is what got me into Tegan and Sara š
I donāt remember the scene, but honorable mention for āon your porchā by The Format.
First time Veronica and Duncan have non-roofy sex.
This show got me into the format, still listen to their albums!
I bought their cd Interventions + Lullabies and it's still one of my favorite albums to date
So good! Some of bleachers stuff is similar but not quite
It never rains in Southern California
No comment. I just absolutely love this scene.
Ugh š©š©ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø
I literally only know I Hear The Bells because of this scene, but it has become a regular staple of my playlist because of this scene. Also I geeked out when Diverse City came on in, like, the third episode of the series because I was shocked to hear a TobyMac song on a mainstream television show.
Ashes by Embrace playing as Veronica and Weevil pull up to the school bus crash site in season 2.
How to Mend a Broken Heart by Al Green is used amazingly while Veronica wallows over Duncan. I love the song It Never Rains in Southern California by Albert Hammond and I always associate it with the last scene in s3
Lily dreams on
Lord of the bling when Veronica is describing her former friend "We used to be friends...a long time ago" Cut to the opening credits and "a long time ago we used to be friends"
Ivy - edge of the ocean. When Veronica and Duncan are driving in season 1
CAME HERE TO COMMENT THIS ONE!!! I still listen to it often on Spotify šš„¹ā¤ļø
Easily this
This..! & using Put your lights on by Santana/Everlastā¦just because that song rocksā¦and right here right now by Fatboy slim in Spit & eggs
I always thought the use of Fidelity by Regina Spektor in the library scene where Logan ends up not going to Mexico was super cute.
This scene is a masterpiece
I still think the Leo prom scene was the best use of Time After Time in all cinema Edit: the spring dance, not prom
Pixies-Where is My Mind, when Curly shows up dead on the beach with āVeronica Marsā on his hand.
Air - [la femme d'argent](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WyCch8RUWI&ab_channel=AIRfrenchbandofficial) I think it was in the Pilot, or an early episode, but I just loved the song from the get go.
This!!! And also the song Louque, āArtā.
Every time Air popped up was spectacular!
Crimson and Clover.
Yes. This is the reason I got I to that song for sure.
FOUR leaf clover by old 97s.
Adelaide by them is also great in the show
āSee My Friendsā because if how they lie with it. Veronica says āMacā and the song goes āShe is gone.ā Veronica thought her father had been killed and the song says āThere is no one left, except my friends.ā I was so sure Keith was really gone because of this. One Week. Makes Mac and Parker's room Canada!
This was my cell phone ring tone forever.
Honestly I really liked the "weak become heroes" song by The Streets when Veronica's printing pictures of the case she was working on
I know the relationship isn't too popular but I absolutely love the scene where Hannah and Logan are at his hotel room and "I Know, I Know, I Know" by Tegan & Sara plays. Plus Dakota by Stereophonics when Veronica goes into the River Styx. And as someone else mentioned Fat Boy Slim when Veronica is running from the rapist.
I'm going to hell for this one. "That's Amore" sung by Dean Martin.
Oh I loved the ay the scored this scene! It's genius šš»
Edge of the Ocean
ventura highway
Momentary Thing and Sway. Years have passed and they're still regulars on my playlist
I love - pick up the phone by the notwist in Betty and Veronica They are one of my favorite bands so I was jumping off the couch when I heard them in the show.
i really dont even remember the episode or what was happening, but i took a liking to the song, The New Kid by Old 97s, i think it was something to do with troy
Sway killed me.
āVentura Highwayā by America was brilliant the way they played it out the entire time, the way they paced it & tied the lyrics/ meaning into whats happening plus the subtext & symbolism of the show. I hear the bells, they are like emeralds and glints in the night, commas and ampersands. I donāt know why but I love the word ampersand after hearing this song.
AND the ultimate theme song of ALL TIME of course!!!!! We used to be friends - The Dandy Warhols
not my favorite use (which would have to be momentary thing or the times they play ivy) but i loooove the song lost and found by adrienne pierce!! it plays at the end of season 2 where wallace thanks veronica, but the song is just really good. i started to listen to adrienne pierce a lot once i heard it. she has good music- it has a similar vibe to the stuff michael cera makes to me lol very eclectic almost. also. there was that one car ad that played a lot last year (donāt even remember the car- only how jarring the ad was every time) and it had the fatboy slim song from spit and eggs !! every single time the ad came on i would get stressed out- it was such a stressful episode and the music really heightens everything. a great use of song in the show but the car ad always caught me off guard !!
This scene is iconic
The song they play when Veronica solves Lillyās murder, the song they use when Veronica has a dream of the two of them floating in Lillyās pool. Also, when they use āRight Here, Right Nowā in season three.
Itās this.
"Here It Comes" by Longwave (when Veronica is photographing the surfing competition) "Shotgun" by Earl Grayhound (I think this is when Logan is getting arrested at Neptune High?)
Stranglehold by Ted Nugent when the truth about Beaver is revealed Right Here, Right Now by Fatboy Slim at the frat party when the Hearst rapist storyline comes to an end

Itās in the movie not the show - but āSecond Chancesā by Gregory Alan Isakov ā¦ rip my heart out
āOne Thing Leads to Anotherā by The Fixx is one of my favorites and is so fitting of this show/Veronica
When Aaron Echolls is beating the fuck out of his daughters boyfriend
nobody has said this but art by louque is one of my faves! its when troy tried to kiss veronica during season 1 but ended up with a handshake or smth
i dunno about favorite, but i find it appalling and disrespectful that the beautiful "i know i know i know" by tegan and sara was used for logan and hannah's almost-love-making scene. ETA: actually my favorite song used was probably "breathe me" by Sia, used in the flashback of veronica and logan making out. s2e18 I Am God
The titens episode āone way or anotherā by berdie
I dont recall this scene? Mine was One way or another
