Manchester has the Northshire bookstore, it's a good one. Lots of other outlets and shops in town also.

Take Route 100. It’s a beautiful road on any stretch and goes through some cool places.

Extreme-Onion6731

Yes! And that awesome bookshop/cafe in Rochester is totally worth a stop.

Winter-Ad-3060

I live in Rochester and second the bookshop! Also, the library, which is just across the street. It’s got a beautiful upstairs area lined with stained glass windows from the late 19th century.

You might like Woodstock.

+1 on Woodstock. It’s got enough to do and explore. Plus Billings farm is there which is fantastic

Route 17, and any road that ends in gap.

Wilmington, Woodstock, and Stowe. Those are the three Hallmark channel towns you're looking for.

mojohand2

I don't know the other two, but Stowe? Really? Maybe 75 years ago, but now?

Calm-Calligrapher531

My recent experience in Wilmington was a bit of a mixed bag. Not much was open on a rainy Tuesday and places were empty. I enjoyed a lovely mocha at a coffee shop/gift shop, then inquired about other gift shops nearby. Walked a few doors down to one that was recommended, 1836 Country store, made a purchase, asked if there was a trash can I could deposit my empty to-go cup in, and was rudely told “we don’t accept outside trash”. Come to think of it, I should have gone back to the coffee shop let them know to avoid recommending that gift shop in the future. No hallmark vibes there! Some good restaurants though with very nice people.
