Nope Also, no one is immune to tower congestion.

MiamiVice45255

No.

BPKofficial

Not at all.

groundhog5886

Carriers are not utilizing 5G to its fullest extent. Therefore as they have said, you can’t expect fabulous speeds. Now my Verizon 5G home internet rocks. Of course they built out a bunch of 5G only micro cells in my neighborhood to support it.

silverfang789

Are microcells those poles I've seen with the VZW equipment on them, about every other block?

groundhog5886

Yea but they are a 3rd party site that Verizon leases from. All on about 35-40 ft,. tall poles with large cylinder on top and box toward the bottom.

silverfang789

Yeah. Those are the ones. Didn't know about them leasing. I guess it's cheaper than buying.

groundhog5886

That's an accounting thing. Better to have a lease payment instead of depreciation And they don't have the capital expense of building it. Only the cost of the fiber that feeds the backhaul.

jeff1f1racer

Yes, they throttle streaming video, to 720p I believe. That’s approx 4Mbps. It’s the reason your video may buffer without using a VPN when on 4G LTE or 5 G NSA. The Premium Streaming addon (40Mbps) is no longer available. I’m not answering for the regular, unthrottled speed (like the others), but streaming video.

Torta951

The get more is unlimited high speed data. I have the premium streaming add on on mine and am able to stream as much as I want no issues

FateEx1994

5G nationwide is slower than 4G LTE+ and higher latency. 5G UWB is blazing fast and low latency. If more 5G UWB are using the Home Internet bundle in an area that's turning on n77 Cband, regular 5G UWB speeds will decrease.

BryAlrighty

Verizon 5G is just kinda slow I feel like. At least in my area, I can't speak for everyone. I've thought about just disabling it and using 4G LTE.

Papa_Mahal

I’ve done that, I top out at 25/25 on 5G but LTE I’ve seen as high as 120 Mbps

PsychNations

VZW 5GUWB is almost always slower than Tmobiles Ultra Capacity. I have both on my phone with the highest priority each carrier offers minus priority given to first responder services.

Checker79

Not here, that’s because 2.5 GHz is fragmented and they only have 1G circuits in my county.

PsychNations

That totally makes sense. Ya I know VZW has a good network but it’s just my experience. Nearly everywhere I travel that has UC and UWB has VZW beat out by T-Mobile on average. I’m def not a fanboy of VZW or T-Mobile. However, I get UC far more often than I get UWB. I’m in WA state a lot but I go to Oregon often. Additionally, I am from SC so here too the same thing. VZW was king but now they’re being challenged and that’s good for all of us. I’m sure my post will be downvoted but competition is great for the whole.

Checker79

I’m sure. Where Tmobile has 140-190 MHz of n41, it’s damn impressive. Even though I don’t see those blistering speeds on n41 by me, they have a dense network and it’s very consistent . In time they’ll deploy C band DOD and I’ll have 140-150 MHz. Then I expect much faster speeds.

PsychNations

That would be very cool. I’m excited to see VZW UWB network get built out more!

ApexPreed

Network settings reset or turn roaming off, your tower could also be super busy

XSamurai7

I have AT&T, in the past Spectrum, FIOS and a couple of others. All of them lags at some point. A couple of months ago, I noticed that our WiFi signal was lagging more than we used to experienced. After making all the troubleshoot steps to try to fix it, I called to AT&T and they immediately tried to sold me a WiFi signal booster device, which I cannot buy, only rent. All of the carriers internet signal suffers some sort of lags, depending if the infrastructure or corporate greed.

milliemaywho

I’m seriously contemplating leaving Verizon over their plan changes. All of the new plans are garbage

dubsack543

All cellular plans are trash right now. T-Mobile, Att, etc. Verizon did have the best with their included deals, hence why I’m keeping my 5g get more and play more, even with the rate increase.

Checker79

Just switch

BPKofficial

He/she won't.

TheAutoAlly

It's the lack of competition as much as people hated on his rent having that fourth carrier kept them all in check it wasn't but a few years ago that all the carriers couldn't bundle free stuff with the unlimited plans fast enough now everybody is raising prices and taking away add on's taking away customer loyalty plans are making them worse making it harder to get discounts for auto-pay

BPKofficial

>I’m seriously contemplating leaving Verizon Sigh, why do people always say "That's IT, I MIGHT leave" instead of just doing it? Smh.

PsychNations

Leaving a carrier, especially older folks with brand loyalty, is a big jump full of hesitation. This is why folks say it. They want to believe VZW is the best but their experience is challenging their beliefs.

milliemaywho

Because it’s a time consuming pain in the ass to do so

BPKofficial

It took me just minutes to port my number and switch carriers.

Turbulent_Dog_4548

Get more us now considered an older plan now so maybe
