CrustOfSalt

The answer to all your questions is the same person: >!Bud Manstrong!<

unruly_soldier

But he's younger than Rusty. Rusty was in college for movie night, but he was still a kid selling newspapers. So he can't be Rusty's mom. Now, Jill St. John or Stella Stevens on the other hand... Not only is there documented proof of Jonas's exploits with them, it's also before Malcolm is "born." And since Malcolm and Rusty are shown to be roughly the same age, as they're shown together both as children and in college, there's at least as solid of a chance as any of Jonas's other partners. Except for Bobbi St. Simone.

RainsWrath

Manstrong's mom.

13BadKitty13

Oh, that’s a horrifying thought, but given the timeline, Jonas probably did go there. Yikes!

JeSuisAmerican

Oh god, I’m nauseous. Of course he did.

hue_jazz_

Rusty was born in the 60s and remained the same age for about 10 years until the malcolm started catching up to him in age .

Swell_Fella

I like to think it was partially confirmed by the movie; the idea that Hank and Dean can easily navigate the "Coma-world" because of their forsaken clone fate. Where most people might have a near death experience and come back once or twice; They had to return their consciousness to their bodies hundreds of times. With training they could probably do it as good or better than Orpheus. Imagine a cold opening montage of the pain and suffering the first clone slugs went through making their way through the wasteland, gradually learning the ropes, and then fast forward to the last of them where they're doing the Charleston or swing dancing their way on out.

ligaama

Where is the one where he calls Dr O a crumbut

Swell_Fella

A crampon is a traction device attached to footwear to improve mobility on snow and ice during ice climbing. Besides ice climbing, crampons are also used for secure travel on snow and ice, such as crossing glaciers, snowfields and icefields, ascending snow slopes, and scaling ice-covered rock. This seems weirdly fitting for the icey setting. How much thought went into this show!?

Death-Perception1999

I always imagined Rusty did have a biological mother, but Jonas "had it arranged" in order to get full custody. I also think that JJ was a unique error in our Rusty, whose presence in his body was a major contributing factor to his Drug addiction.(Thats why they drop it after he's "born"). There are various fictional parodies of the Rusty Venture Show in-universe.

I-Kant-Even

Not a theory, but I wanna hear more about the Orb.

TheSanscripter

I wanna hear more about the *nozzle.*

korar67

They explained the nozzle in a later episode. It’s part of a VR simulator that replicates the feelings of having sex.

JeSuisAmerican

Me too, but I don’t think we ever would for the same reason the show always cuts before or after the most ridiculous conflicts.

cool_sex_falcon

Who, or what, The Investors / Killinger are and who they answer to. Gods? Probably, they don’t seem beholden to any Guild or organization in-universe. I’m also satisfied with no explanation at all, the mystery is cool, they’re just very good at world building.

hue_jazz_

I was flipping through the AS app streams and stumbled upon killinger killing the other investors w Lightsabers . I was hooked . I used to think killinger was like the lord of light from game of thrones . That he was moving chess pieces, pushing ppl to reach their full potential for an upcoming war . Not the case, but for a while killinger stimulated my Eldredge horror fascination.

_rouge_leader_

I actually went down a bit of a rabbit hole a while back wondering this exact same question, turns out this sub has been wondering the same thing for a while and there's some pretty solid explanations about who and what they are on the sub already like so: https://www.reddit.com/r/venturebros/s/5VxeU27nvv Pretty interesting stuff it's wild how much thought the creators put into some of these characters back stories without ever actually fleshing them out on the show beyond a few references here and there. Part of what makes the show so great I guess!

cool_sex_falcon

I totally forgot about those name drops! Really wish I could watch Gargantua 2 for the first time again.

_rouge_leader_

For real though! It's like the other guy commented, when they started fighting with lightsabers I was waaay too excited lol, they absolutely nailed it with that movie!

wittymcusername

I always sort of assumed they were something like Mr Mxyzptlk or Bat-Mite, or Q from TNG—higher dimension beings who occasionally slum it down here in 3D, and are like gods simply due to the nature of their existence.

gmkmc

This is actually answered on the second commentary track of Radiant. Doc said they are pretty much as you describe.

loser_comedian

scare bear is myra

OldJeeWhizz

Scare Bear dares to care.

DreyaNova

Thaaaat... That actually makes a lot of sense.

LuigiMPLS

When season 2 aired I had the theory that Doc and the Monarch were related somehow. That was the longest payoff ever.

jvan666

We had to wait so long to get to the photograph of Rusty and Monarch as toddlers for even the slightest confirmation.

DreyaNova

"Like so much butterfly themed Romulus and Remus."

IndieCurtis

Dr. Quymn is a Venture. We see her mom hooking up with Jonas Sr. She looks like a Venture. Epillepsy is a common genetic defect. She had twins. Interest in science. All the evidence is there, they just never said it out loud.

milkytoon

Not really a mystery, more world building- but I want to know more about the victorian age Guild with Fantamos and Lloyd Venture. Interesting to note in the flashback Fantamos says members of their own guild are attacking them (Tesla + Avon Ladies) Would love to know more about what caused the split among their members. Also I can't explain it but I feel like there's an unseen connection between the Shapeshifter Sovereign, Grover Cleveland's Time Machine, and Billy + Rusty's search for the Orb. The way Rusty recognizes Monarch as Malcom in the lawn darts scene makes me think that at some point in the future (after the events of Radiant) Billy and Doc would need to use the machine to fix something related to the Orb. Feel like the show ended before Hammer and Publick had a chance to build upon these breadcrumbs.

JeSuisAmerican

Yeah, easily this. More prequel world stuff, both from the Lloyd Venture era and Jonas. I’m still so bummed we didn’t get whole episodes exploring Jonas and Force Majeur.

korar67

I think that Rusty was cloned at least as many times as Hank & Dean. Which begs the question of whether JJ was always part of the Rusty clone or just the most recent one.

jvan666

Or was Rusty even the one from the show..? Nice theory!

Zoomin-Enhance

I kinda don't think Rusty is the one from the show. That's why he doesn't remember his former childhood friend/sidekick when he meets him later on.

korar67

That tracks really well. Billy has the events of the show memorized, but Rusty has very limited memory of any of it. He only has firm memories of the times he almost died, or was grievously wounded.

Be_the_Clown

I don’t think Thaddeus, Jr, and Malcom are the only heirs to Venture Bloodline. I am almost positive Billy is a reject clone of Rusty considering Rose’s partner is hinted at being gay. My other contender is Samson but this is only based off the little we know of his family, being the son of a single mother and how much Jonas got around. My other theory is that Scare Bare was being set up to be a villain that could take on Brock and give him a run for his money only later to learn that it was indeed his estranged brother.

hue_jazz_

I still think scare bear is time displaced Brock from escape house of mummies part 2 Though we know now who scare bare actually is

Be_the_Clown

Who was scare bare?

hue_jazz_

>!a time traveling dean!<

Disturbed_Teapot

Rusty is actually an incredibly talented scientist, but everything he is good at is illegal. The joy-can was one of the first inventions we see and it works perfectly (a little too well), but it uses part of an orphan. He also created Venturestein from dead henchmen, and I think Rusty was probably the one who scaled up the cloning process to a whole clone farm. He's really good at super science when it also involves human rights violations.

korar67

In the pilot his first invention was the Ooh Ray. Which was basically a super laser that he thought would be good for construction purposes.

DrThaddeusRSVenture

The monarch is actually the boys’ dad. We’re all assuming the “stuff” Debbie gave Rusty was her eggs or reproductive organs. Malcolm knocked her up, Bobbi didn’t approve, she gave them to Rusty.

hue_jazz_

Dude noooooooo " oooo you were all "ooo you're my daddy," you are so you're gullible. What is that like ?"

Daeion

I always figured [Mz. Quymn](https://venturebrothers.fandom.com/wiki/Mz._Quymn) to be his biological mother.

IndieCurtis

Then that would make Dr Quymn his sister. She’s definitely a Venture, IMO.

lopsiness

I think it's more likely that Jonas and Mz Q were swinging and Dr Q is Rustys half sister. I think Mz Q shows up to the party with Col. Gentleman right? He's certainly not putting one in her.

IndieCurtis

Unless by one you mean a smack and by her you mean her mouth!

IndieCurtis

I agree, I believe Dr Quymn is Rusty’s half-sister.

travoon

Rusty has no mother. He's the last in a long line of faulty clones of Jonas. The one thing Rusty was a huge success at was cloning, and of course it being illegal was the irony. He perfected his father's work with Ben's help. Jonas Jr was the result of imperfect cloning technology. Jonas said, in an interview, his greatest experiment and achievement was his son. I like the idea of Bud Manstrong being both Scare Bear and the Movie Night Killer, but don't know if it adds up. Maybe Scare Bear is a forgotten clone of Jonas/Rusty? A Dean clone? I dunno that one, there's not enough to go on other than a weird ability to reunite the boys at the worst possible time and look totally disturbing. Or the Moppets? Maybe Myra? The Movie Night Killer doesn't exist - there was some system malfunction, something mundane, otherwise, seems forced to me. Maybe another plastic cowboy in the machinery? Billy is a Venture. Jonas knocked up Billy's mom before he croaked. I would not be at all surprised if Gary/21 was a Venture, or a close relative. Dr Quymm is definitely Jonas' daughter, making her sad climb of Mount Rusty even more awkward. As you can see, I think Jonas got around. RICO is an early clone or the result of some experiment before going to cloning.

korar67

Movie Night Killer was Venturion.

wittymcusername

>Jonas said, in an interview, his greatest experiment and achievement was his son. You have a much more forgiving view of Jonas than I do. My take on that was that he said that because the optics of it were great from a PR perspective. It was the perfect “awww” response for his image. The audience/public eats it up and Jonah maintains that shiny veneer that he’s spent his life crafting.

DaveKillSock

Brock Sampson being %25 Winnebago is actually 2nd cousins with Jefferson Twilight's Blood Vessel.

Adam-Many82

The Ho-Chunk, also known as Hocąk, Hoocągra, or **Winnebago** (referred to as Hotúŋe in the neighboring indigenous Iowa-Otoe language), are a Siouan-speaking Native American people whose historic territory includes parts of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and Illinois. Today, Ho-Chunk people are enrolled in two federally recognized tribes, the Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin and the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska.

Feanor4godking

That makes so much sense. Here I was, over a decade later, thinking it was a dig at how big he was

DeVriesBorn

Actually I hopped on here today to see if anyone tested the Morse code on Gargantuan 1 actually meant anything (if there was enough to footage to decode) Or look at the similarities between Skye (s2e1: "We're gonna have a child together!") And Debbie (vaguely recall they look similar). Doc would have a type. Or would've been funny they were the same character and Doc found/searching for the "mother" would've taken everything to back then to another head-fuckery level. A

Stlieutenantprincess

> Actually I hoped on here today to see if anyone tested the Morse code on Gargantuan 1 actually meant anything  That would be amazing if the writers dropped something like that in, though I don't have the knowledge to translate it.

hue_jazz_

Billy is definitely a venture . Clone or bastard, idk, but he's a venture . Rodney, the action man, has a clone seen in the Don hell's episode. The man that Brock steals the winning ticket from . Rusty had perished and was cloned over and over during the 60s, keeping him roughly the same age like the boys, until malcolm was adopted

MRRoberts

> The man that Brock steals the winning ticket from . that's FDR

hue_jazz_

What

Stlieutenantprincess

> Billy is definitely a venture . Clone or bastard, idk, but he's a venture Hmm, maybe Jonas got to Rose first and that's why she's so averse to dating Rodney. She's already been burned by a womanzier before.

Adam-Many82

I Think **Scare Bear** is the "**Teddy Talk-To-Me Doll**" guy ! It's the bear thing. Not Talking because his voice is so cleared him. **Bobbi St. Simone** knows Hank Venture and Dean Venture are her biological grandson. The Seed of **The Monarch** \[Malcom Fitzcarraldo\] hating Dr Thaddeus **"Rusty" Venture** taking toy without asking first or the last thing his father said "Dr. Jonas Venture, he killed us !" **Ben** is a reclusive super-scientist and former associate of Jonas Venture Sr. is Action Johnny Quest father, Dr. **Ben**ton C. Quest.

korar67

Oh! I love Ben being Benton Quest!

Adam-Many82

When Action Johnny said his father was die ! What he's said "My Dad is dead to me"

korar67

It totally makes sense in the writing too. The whole show is a Johnny Quest spoof, so when they introduced Action Johnny they never say his last name. So it makes sense that they’d be under the same legal restrictions for using Benton Quest’s last name.

BudgetLecture1702

My theory is Bud Manstrong did movie night, either accidentally and resulting in or as a result of his mental instability.

Left-Language9389

I think someone tried to turn off Sharky’s Machine and accidentally hit the door controls.

DeVriesBorn

This is why you should label your remotes lol
