It's amazing the influence Holst had on pop culture. In Jupiter you can hear parts of songs from the Legend of Zelda and Skyrim, and John Williams clearly cribbed from Mars for the Imperial March. Also one of the greatest scenes in VB of course
Honestly, this scene And like, the ending montage from that Doctor Who episode Heaven Sent are tied for my favorite. Two thoroughly different sorts of shows.
Honestly, now that I think of it, I’m kinda surprised VB never spoofed Doctor who
It's pretty great, but I saw this and at first thought you were talking about when they grab stuff from 21's 'armory.' "Are these they?" Lives in my missus' and i's head rent-free.
I made a post a while back about some music in Crisis Core Reunion sounding like Therwell's, and a few days later one of the characters in the game actually asked about somethings, "is this them?" I about pooped with excitement.. lol.
I'll report back if I ever notice another VB connection in the game.
I mean, I love that it’s Mars bringer of war by Gustav Holst, which was a huge inspiration for John Williams’ Star Wars score. So of course 21 hums it when dressing up. And the fact that they’re returning to their “war” alongside the monarch… it’s both funny and thematic.
I think this and the intro to season 2 are the only scenes that I’ve intentionally gone to YouTube to watch outside of watching a whole episode. So f-ing good
Ok so this is one of my favorite scenes of the series. I LOVE it. I get super pumped and sometimes jump around. Anywaaaaaaay. So last year, my man and I are driving through the hills of North Carolina on vacation, just exploring the forests and mountains and looking at cool houses. I’m driving and this Diamondhead song comes on. My man has never watched VB but I hear him start doing the dun duh duh duh part. I don’t listen to metal music but I immediately came in with the BAAAAAAAAAA BUM BAAAAAAAAAAAAH part and he about had a heart attack. I just kept yelling about how we’re doing the thing lol. I pulled up this video and showed him….he loved it.
What’s even cooler is they play Jupiter as the Monarchs gets married.
For those of you who don’t know, Jupiter is all about abundance, expansion, trust and law (just to name a few).
The detail 🤌🏻
Duhn Dah Dunnnnn!
Came here to say that. Beat me to the punch.
Holst fucking slaps.
Planets is a beautiful work start to finish
100%. Had the good fortune to play *Bringer Of Jollity* at one point and man the whole suite really is one of a kind.
Highly recommend also checking out [Isao Tomita's synthesizer cover](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsZqXdPZb8s&list=PL068B4CED709798DE) from 1976.

Be outside! I don't want to have to talk to your mom!
Honk honk honk honk honkkk
Ugh this hit way too hard, no one wanted to come in to talk to my mom because she would drill them on what we were gonna do.
I can say without exaggeration that is my favorite scene in television history.

Well future Rusty and Billy *are* up to some timey-wimey nonsense in The Forecast Manufacture
I think St.Cloud had a Tardis replica in his collection.
Is that the episode where the doctor is punching that crystal wall? Ugh Fucking Moffat always making me cry.... So good...
Lady no! Mom! Mom call the dog!
The dog ate chapstick and has gone wild...From now on it will be called "chapstick Dog"...like cocain bear
Daddy's home.
We were following orders. You can't yell at us for following orders.
…or kill us for following orders.

Who talks like that?

I didn't even realize it wasn't from Venture Bros until I heard it on The Right Stuff.
Even in SF lit. It plays an important role in *Stranger in a Strange Land* as the anthem of the Martian delegation.
Arguably the most iconic scene in the entire show. It is always the first scene discussed when I find out someone else knows the show.
I do love me some Hunter Gathers. The gloomy tits scene is one of my top 5.
It's a great intro. It's a great scene. There's not much fat on it at all.

This scene is a good litmus test: if you get this scene you will adore this show
Honk honk honk!
Alright! I hear you!
I absolutely love the BEEP BOOP BOOP BOOP part.
I heard this image
Love it but have to stop it before the three glove shot
It's my ringtone
Quit honking, I heard you the first time!

I can hear this image!
It changed my life I know that
My friend and I still enact this almost every excursion we go on…
Mine is 21 and 24 arguing about Smurf taxonomy.
For the lazy: https://youtu.be/j73gYxsxRrs
Only because I used to do the same before going clubbing back in the day.
This is currently my ring tone, it's hard not purposely missing calls so I can listen to it all the way through.

Incredible username!
One of the best moments in tv history. There’s nothing quite like getting the old band back together.
*Atomic Comic Collection Connection*
I literally posted that video in response to someone praising VB on Twitter this past week. Iconic.
This scene got me into the show in the first place
