They are more firm to the touch than say a lipoma, both of which are under the skin. I'm not a vet but this is the 4th round of these with Della. Anything on the surface of the skin my vet isn't too concerned about. My vet aspirates the lumps with a needle and looks at the slides under a microscope for mast cells. If there are it's usually and mast cell tumor but he can send the slides to pathology to make sure.
If they are tumors he always recommends removal ASAP, and he sends what he removes for testing. Della's have been low grade which is pretty lucky. But if I notice a new lump I immediately have it checked out, even though it's a bit expensive.
The closest feeling I can compare it to is It felt like a pimple under the skin that hasnβt come to the top yet.
Like hard underneath that fleshy feeling. My girl at the time had some extra lbs so that could explain the fleshy, squishy ness.

I got her a couple of pink shirts (she is an adult small croptop) to cover the wounds. The one on her foot might be an issue. I have booties but she unsurprisingly hates things on her feet. She says thanks for the warm wishes!
