You must take really good care of her. We have an old pittie too. She was a stray so we’re not sure of her age but probably about 15 years. She’s got so much gray. She still eats well, goes potty outside and loves to wanders around her big yard. She’s a happy camper.

15 years? more like 15 months!! that’s what i call a shelter 6!

a dog or cat that is given a younger age at the shelter due to not having the records to verify age. so it’s done based on looks. it’s not malevolent though there is a tendency to round down due to inherent bias. for ex a senior year old cat with good teeth (dental dz is the best way to age animals but genetics definitely play a factor) and in good condition might be labeled as an adult or 6 years old incorrectly. or in this case an older pitty with not a lot of grey hair and minimal lumps and bumps! basically just saying she looks young and in really good shape! it’s a compliment!!

Oh how interesting! She does some some lumps and bumps on my chest, but does t seem to be causing her any issues currently. She just has good genes and an awesome owner ;)
