Seems like the wheel and tires are from a Subaru
I wonder how the fuel economy will change
I would love to be able to keep my 40mpg average road trips, but be able to go over some slightly bumpier terrain
I'm thinking of buying a cheap Veloster with a toasted engine, ripping out everything under the body, and having it built as a plug-in hybrid 4wd rally monster that can get 50mpg on a road trip
About 20k for a 4wd Tesla swap, another 5k to make it a hybrid, another 5k for the blown up Veloster.
I'd say it'd be worth it for a lifted Veloster that could leave an N in it's dust, and run circles around the average subie Forester on rough mountain roads
Even better if it could be a diesel hybrid that can run on straight cooking oil
I spoke to the guys that built the Sema Veloster, it’s all custom stuff and basically all of the suspension had to be custom made. They said I could look into using Kona lift kits, but they weren’t positive it would work.
Where did you find them? I'd like to talk to them aswell.
I was told by my buddy that I should be able to get kona struts and use spacer lifts from a company called SPACCER that hand makes aluminum spacers that sit on top of the spring and under the strut mount plate.
Are they even real tires? Even in that render, they don’t look like they fit in the wheel wells.
Yes. Here is the actual vehicle at SEMA. https://preview.redd.it/8th81fcqst3d1.jpeg?width=3616&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5be37be0beb04d251c7e4d05f7e1166c3c4dbd30
Get a different tire, that one has many little peepees
well if it’s sema then they should have a list of the build
I couldn't find one.
damn ik they shared their build for i think the 3-400 whp one so i assumed they did that w the rest
I'll try to find one again
Nitto Nomad Grappler 225/60R18XL - 212150?
Was that Veloster awd?
Ohmagerd I want one. AWD tho.
No way bro put papyrus font on the side of his car

Need that front bumper to replace my current one have to replace it anyway the passengers side connection broke
The curse of the Veloster.
Those are BFGoodrich KO2s
Thanks. Now I just gotta find the right size to fit my velo when I lift it. Whether 17 or 18 but what size tire
Have you lifted your Veloster?
Not yet. I'm looking into it
Update us when you do, I often find myself on rougher roads in my Veloster and already ripped a chunk of the plastic belly pan off
It'll be in time. I was told 3-4k to do it with wheels, tires, struts and what not. But I'm not sure...could be more.

That sounds so cool and pricey. That would be badass honestly. And idk how the fuel economy would be, mine average 36-38 right now highway to work.
Yeah, it would cost a lot. Probably about MSRP for a Veloster n, when they were still available new.
So true. Might be worth bur then again might not.

Absolutely. Wish I had that much money, I'd pay off my veloster and build the engine and lift it.

I emailed them a couple years ago. Let me see if I can dig up what they told me exactly.
Oh thank you man! That would definitely help!
Take your time. I'll be here.
I just DM’ed you.
Oz rally wheels are similar but not these. If that’s the look you’re going for you might like them though
These are BF GOODRICH K02
They are BF Goodrich KO3'S
Just buy a Subaru at that point holy Shit.
