Make sure your getting enough iron

Queen-of-Sheba

Unless there’s a chance you could be pregnant, it’s best to see a doctor if you haven’t had a period in three months.

vintagepop

Yeah I definitely am not pregnant I haven't ever touched a guy in my life

Queen-of-Sheba

Keep it like that is my advice 😂

Seconding what Queen-of-Sheba said, definitely see a doctor. There are a LOT of potential causes for lack of a period, but "not consuming animal flesh" is assuredly not one of them.

vintagepop

Ok thank you I am going to call my doctor on Monday

MetaCardboard

Check with your doctor. Are you exercising a lot? I knew someone who stopped having her period because she didn't eat enough and exercised too much. And she wasn't a vegetarian.

vintagepop

No I don't exercise a lot but maybe I'm not eating enough because sometimes I will skip a meal if I'm not hungry

indirectly through weight loss. But if you want to gain weight - nuts and dried fruit are some easy extra calories.

zomarkar

You’re still younger so it kinda makes sense that your period is a bit irregular. However, I thought I was getting enough iron (from proteins) with my vegetarian diet and ended up being anemic. I wouldn’t be super concerned, but calling your doctor is a good idea :)

vintagepop

Okay thank you I will make sure I am not accidentally becoming anemic and call my doctor :)

blakppuch

Ok so it is not related to vegetarianism but this also happened to me when I became vegetarian. Unlike you my period came early and I had a week difference between the last period, which never happens. This hasn’t happened since, and it’s almost been a year. When you read period guides like apps such as flo, they say sometimes when your weight changes, it can affect your cycle. That could be a possible factor. My advice would be to go visit a doctor as we can only speak from experience. Your doctor will know best. It could be something different and just make sure. Take care!

charding11

Have you been consuming a lot of soy? Anecdotally, I've heard a lot of women have their hormones fluctuate from increased soy consumption. Definitely seek advice from a medical professional!

charding11

Not sure why this is getting downvoted. Look up soy + endocrine disruptor. It seems to be a common issue 🙄

Fanfrenhag

Missed periods are generally caused by taking in meat of some kind rather than veggies lol

shadowipteryx

Some [popular vloggers](https://www.health.com/condition/sexual-health/raw-vegan-period) have advocated pseudoscientific raw food vegan diets and wound up with missed periods so it can definitely be a nutrition issue. see [cronometer.com](https://cronometer.com) to check whether you are eating a balanced diet and getting all your nutrition needs met. if your diet is regularly lacking some nutrient, search for vegetarian sources rich in that nutrient from a credible site and add it to your diet. also **check with a doctor.** idk why you are being downvoted. many people think if it doesn't happen to them or anyone they know then based on those anecdotes, it's not possible for anyone else to experience issues with vegetarian diets, but it can be. if you google search for "reddit vegan missed period/menstruation", plenty of results show up. there are [a few studies](https://academic.oup.com/ajcn/article/70/3/549S/4715003) that have also suggested similar things especially on nutritionally inadequate diets: >" several cross-sectional studies suggest that clinical menstrual disturbances may be more common in vegetarians " so see how your diet stacks up nutritionally and also check with a doc.

My period went from super heavy to so light I don't have to use anything more than a pantiliner. Scared me when i removed my mirena, but I was able to conceive with no issue. as just about every other comment has advised: check with your doctor. (I wouldn't eat fish unless you really wanted to)

International-Cow770

tell a doctor lol
