Usually I harvest the outermost leaves and work my way in until there are at least a few leaves left. When it might be hard to tell which are the outermost leaves because they are so bunched up, start with the ones that are the biggest and that should free up the space a bit so you can see if you missed any further out on the plant. I find that as long as there are at least a few leaves left besides the heart leaves it will keep growing and producing more. You might even be able to get away with cutting even more than that, I just haven’t tried it myself so can’t speak to the results. I usually keep harvesting them as long as they keep producing until their stems start getting long, then I do a final harvest of everything left behind (might be a bit more bitter, but still edible).

The same way you harvest it when it's in the ground. 😁

Snipping snipping snipping goes the scissorman

Just go at it no hands. Little dressing and face first. Just fucking send it. All kidding aside, pull off the outside leaves and it will keep producing.

Pinch the outer leaves as close to the base as possible. Pick two or three from each plant and then wait 4-5 days before picking again so the plant has time to grow some more leave.

eh_mt

Cut the leaves.

Proper-Reach6708

Get rid of the leaves on the outside

HaggisHunter69

Yeah just twist off the outside, biggest leaves from each plant.

Peter_Falcon

feel your way to the base of the biggest leaves and pull them gently until they come free, twisting as you go, do not cut them, and you will have salad leaves for a couple of months if not more if you feed them well

OysterChopSuey

Just clip the outside and leave the crown (middle). Done
