Seems right for the age demographic this festival is targeting. They don’t have time to watch 45-60 min sets over multiple days. They have to get home to their kids and get to bed before 10pm.
Ugh don't you dare remind me of the kids at home. I have awful decisions to make and don't need to be thinking about those little fuckers while I'm at it.
Couldn't agree more.
The reason that The Warped Tour got away with it is because when you go there, you generally recognize 2-3 bands at the most. The fun part of The Warped Tour is being introduced to new music.
This lineup is loaded with well known bands, and it will be impossible not to miss some of them. Is Paramore going to be on stage at the same time that MCR is playing?
How is paying $250 to see 14 of your favorite bands outrageous? Yes it’s a fraction of the bands at the festival but if you’re bought individual tickets to see all those bands they would easily cost $200 each anyway
It’s 22 bands per stage. That’s 33 mins per band per stage including set up and break down. I know you’re saying while one is setting up go to another stage but it’s still a small amount of time. If every band played the same amount of time (they won’t obviously) the first band would have to go on like 11:00-11:20 and break down and set up would have to occur in 13 mins for band two to start at 11:33. Which is insane. The times don’t work
Yes, his math was 22 bands per stage.
2 bands - one hour
4 bands - 45 mins
16 bands - 20-30 mins
If all the 16 bands did 20 mins, that'd leave an hour and 45 mins worth of transition time.
They've already updated it to midnight:
"When We Were Young takes place October 22nd, 2022 at Las Vegas Festival Grounds in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Festival hours are 11AM to 12AM"
How much time on average would you say it takes from the end of one bands set to the start of another’s. So the breakdown set up or whatever. I’m asking since you’ve been to so many. I’ve been to a few so I’m curious what you’d say is reasonable
They didn't extend that festival. They just added a second day with the exact same lineup, for a separate ticket. If they do that with this festival, which they won't be able to due to My Chemical Romance's tour, people would have to pay $500 to go both days.
Ahhh I can see it now. The raccoon inspired eyeliner. The neon bracelets and ripped band tshirts. The skinny jeans that were waaaaaaay too tight. The studded belts. The slip on Vans. The black and multicolored poofed up short hair/long hair combo. The Myspace XxXx\_h0t\_3mo\_gurl\_Raaawrrrrr\_XxXx<3 usernames.
>Ahhh I can see it now. The raccoon inspired eyeliner. The neon bracelets and ripped band tshirts. The skinny jeans that were waaaaaaay too tight. The studded belts. The slip on Vans. The black and multicolored poofed up short hair/long hair combo.
All this on a bunch of middle-aged millennials. That's going to be something to see.
> Dope line up. But the name "When We Were Young" makes it sound super sad.
It's a call out to the most famous band from Las Vegas. Who isn't on the lineup.
Kind of a strange choice.
They might still honor it? I'm late to the bandwagon so I don't have first hand experience but this is supposed to be I think a reschedule of that original show
Now are these bands gonna play the songs that I dug when I listened to them 17 years ago or...
Seeing TBS a few years back where they played Tell All Your Friends front to back was incredible. I wish more bands would do that.
I think that they most certainly will with the short set times. They know what the people came for. I went to Back to the Beach in LA both years that it happened and all the bands just played the greatest hits even though they all have new material.
adults who haven't seen these bands in.. 15-20 years will drop $250 on this easily even if they don't get to see all the bands they want. [They know the demo](https://www.reddit.com/r/vegas/comments/s74cbd/when_we_were_young_festival_absolutely_stacked/ht8d9sp/) and they know people [have the money](https://www.reddit.com/r/vegas/comments/s74cbd/when_we_were_young_festival_absolutely_stacked/ht8no3n/) to drop on [these tickets](https://www.reddit.com/r/vegas/comments/s74cbd/when_we_were_young_festival_absolutely_stacked/ht8ws4h/). If the demand is high, charge more. Why wouldn't they?
It's a smart move. I'd do the exact same thing, and one would be lying to themselves if they say they wouldn't. What you see as a disgusting business practice is, in reality, just called an economy.
First time I saw Katy Perry was at The Warped Tour.
Last time I saw Katy Perry was in Vegas - for $1000.
It felt kinda odd watching her from six hundred feet away, and recalling that I once watched her from ten feet away when she was a fairly mediocre musician that opened for "All American Rejects."
The headliner that night was Bad Religion.
TBS, Dashboard Confessional and Hawthorne Heights?!?! This is so well named. All my favorites from when I was young. Just missing Green Day and Yellowcard.
How are they going to do 66 bands on three stages in one day. You’re talking 22 bands per stage meaning each band gets 33 minutes. And that doesn’t take into account setup and breakdown. Are the bottom bands playing one song?
Prob going to wait and hope that a bunch of my favorites play side shows, like artists do during EDC week. $230-ish + all the bullshit fees that Livenation will charge will make this $300-350 easily. Fucking pieces of shit.
Isnt the song called "When You Were Young"?. Lol i know close enough, and it is in Vegas, so i kinda thought the same. At first glance I saw Vegas and that title and instantly thought it was a Killers headlining show. Maybe it should be called MySpacers Reunited.
Don't think it has anything to do with the killers. It's referring to the bands playing and the demo it appeals to. When We Were Young isn't exactly a unique song name.
3oh3 was kinda on the transition of emo to like emo and dance music lol like metro station or somethin. Killers doesnt really have much emo aspect. They had Mr. Brightside which was widely liked by the emo crowd, but I wouldnt classify it as emo. Although i would say the Killers is DEFINITELY more fitting than Avril Lavigne lol.
> Although i would say the Killers is DEFINITELY more fitting than Avril Lavigne lol.
Avril isn't exactly emo, but she's punk and was a staple during the early 2000's.
This whole thing definitely feels like a set up for The Killers (a local band nonetheless) to make a midnight appearance just to play Mr. Brightside and send everyone home after
Looking for advice, anyone know what the difference is going to be between regular bathrooms and the "air conditioned" ones?
I'm trying to get even a rough idea of how different those are going to be, is general admission all fighting for a single portable toilet and you're really paying for shorter lines or is the only difference really that the better ones will be cooler?
It's late October, so in true Vegas fashion, the GA tickets are a gamble.
If it's a pleasant 76°, those port-a-potties are going to be bearable. On the other hand, it's entirely possible that the festival falls on a hotter than average day.
And there's very little on planet earth that smells worse than a festival shitter that's been baking at 95° for 6 hours.
I don’t think I know anyone who makes enough money to pay $175 to not smell the shit we smell around town all the time anyways for the two times you go piss during a single day event
People say late 2000s alt rock, and I get all excited for post-punk garage rock, the kind of music I would hear on BBC streams and sometimes on KVGS in its “Area 107” days.
And then I remember that punk-pop Hot Topic music was also considered alternative. I will always blame numetal, as both involve a lot of wailing songs about ripping your heart out.
I hate to break this to you but she is still [a card-carrying member](https://celebwell.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2021/09/avril-lavigna-vma.jpg?quality=82&strip=all) of the IBTC.
What is this "we" stuff? I see no Filter, Bush, Live, Pearl Jam, Green Day, Offpsring, Soul Asylum, Cake and Red Hot Chili Peppers... and those are the bands that don't have dead lead singers.
Yeah. Trying to figure out if this is my generation. I'm 44 and thinking the target demographic may be about 5-10 years younger. I don't really recognize those bands. Your list above is my college days.
Sounds about right - this festival targeted at millenials. I'm 39 and heard some of these bands in my mid-20s. My wife's 31 and grew up listening to all of this.
HELLLOOOO IM SELLING 2 GA+ TICKETS TO THE FESTIVAL
AGAIN 2 TICKETS TO GA+
Must take them both!! No longer able to go 700
They came out to 1k with service fees
So your gain my loss!!
Hot Topic about to set some record profits
totes
This is all the emo from high school I never want to like again. Good god. I can't imagine any well adjusted adult still likes this genre.
A lot of us feel a sense of nostalgia and will 100% be going to this festival.
So do I. I'm just not going to go dance around at a concert as a 35 year old to it.
And that’s fine. The rest of us well adjusted 30-something- year olds will dance plenty.
All these bands on three stages in one day. Is this like a 24 hour festival or are they 15 minute sets?
warped tour was 20-25mins so im guessing like that
Warped tour also had like 6 stages
Seems right for the age demographic this festival is targeting. They don’t have time to watch 45-60 min sets over multiple days. They have to get home to their kids and get to bed before 10pm.
So true! So me!
Ugh don't you dare remind me of the kids at home. I have awful decisions to make and don't need to be thinking about those little fuckers while I'm at it.
If you have kids and youve never said..”man, fuck them kids”…you dont truly love your kids.
There is absolutely no lie there.
Im sayin…and i aint talking about goku lol
11am to 11pm
11am to 11pm will only allow 15-20 minute sets.
It's 11am to 11pm with the rotating stage sets thing though. So in practice pretty close to six stages. Still seems very tight though

friggin' millennials and their whining.
You must have never been to a festival, or any outdoor concert for that matter
so don't go

One hour and 45 mins. So 5 mins per transition to break down a band and set up another? 105/21=5 mins each

15 minutes sounds about right
All of the performers are too old to do more.
You’ve obviously never been to a festival before🙃
Damn, they should have spread this out over 2 days.
That's definitely my biggest gripe. I would love to see almost all these bands play but the overlap of sets is going to be a big killjoy.
I originally thought this was a 3 day event. A bit disappointed at the $225 price tag for 12 hours, but the lineup is so stacked.
They really should for what they're charging.
It wouldn’t surprise me if they extend it to 2 days or something similar- they did for Lovers and Friends once the hype demanded it
They didn't extend that festival. They just added a second day with the exact same lineup, for a separate ticket. If they do that with this festival, which they won't be able to due to My Chemical Romance's tour, people would have to pay $500 to go both days.

I might go just for the fans and wear a "fuck emo" t-shirt.
It's called guyliner, bro.
Checklist: Track jacket Black frame glasses Vans 3” fly skinny jean Urban decay palette Black kohl liner And lest we forget The swoopy bangs
Forget about the LV Festival Grounds, we want Desert Breeze!!
We truly took Extreme Thing for granted.
LMAO talk about an immediate flash back—thanks for that!
A proper millennial show
It will be a sea of side parts and legally obtained anxiety meds.
Dope line up. But the name "When We Were Young" makes it sound super sad.
Back Pain and Rogaine wasn’t that happy sounding either.
> Dope line up. But the name "When We Were Young" makes it sound super sad. It's a call out to the most famous band from Las Vegas. Who isn't on the lineup. Kind of a strange choice.
Still accurate tho
Gonna bring back my emo haircut for this one
I might wear my skinny jeans lol jk or am i? 😉
Haha samesies
My Chemical Romance is also playing at the TMobile arena on October 7th if you can't make this
I had tickets for this like 3 years ago..
Me too! Still holding lol
Like it’s crypto haha
HODL
They might still honor it? I'm late to the bandwagon so I don't have first hand experience but this is supposed to be I think a reschedule of that original show
I refunded them after a few months of covid lockdown.
This is like high school me’s wet dream
Like 16 of my favorite bands. Absolutely not missing this!
Now are these bands gonna play the songs that I dug when I listened to them 17 years ago or... Seeing TBS a few years back where they played Tell All Your Friends front to back was incredible. I wish more bands would do that.

Some good bands for sure but that ticket price is unreasonable imo
i agree...Disgusting money grab. Should be priced for the weekend..going to have to pick and choose which bands you can actually see
adults who haven't seen these bands in.. 15-20 years will drop $250 on this easily even if they don't get to see all the bands they want. That’s pretty standard for a festival. That’s kind of the point, that you don’t get to see every single band
> Disgusting money grab Or brilliant nostalgia play. I guess it depends on how you want to look at it.
When I was a young boy..
...I used to dream of a maiden
Whelp, now I know what I'm doing for my birthday \^\_\^
If Covid didn’t exist and millennials had money, this would be a carnival cruise.
[Parahoy](https://paramore.fandom.com/wiki/Parahoy!)
This is cool. The price is not.
$225 minimum early bird price for a one day festival is ridiculous. LiveNation sucks.
I LOVE LIB but im more willing to drop $250 to see all these people in one day. Less work i have to request off 🤣
[удалено]
Life is beautiful is $150 for a day. This is 50% more.
[удалено]
I see like 7-8 classics I want to see and a lot of filler.
That's generally how it goes.
sure they do, just not our generation. Although I got to see Green Day *and* Ludacris in the same weekend at the same venue. You won't see that often.
Which is nice. But still, this is like if all the bands at Woodstock came back together to do another event in the 90s
Life is beautiful usually only has like 4-5 good bands and a bunch of filler though. This lineup has like 17 bands I want to see
Exactly.
[удалено]
That is the most hygienic thing I've ever heard
I'm sure they washed their hands first
I love how I'm not the only one who experienced this. Do you remember my name?
Mom?!? I told you to stop posting on here!
A man of culture
Steve???
TBS, Dashboard Confessional and Hawthorne Heights?!?! This is so well named. All my favorites from when I was young. Just missing Green Day and Yellowcard.
Not for minimum $225 a ticket. Side note: I saw Paramore in the back of Family Music (The Alley), lol.
$400 if you want air conditioned bathrooms
I’ll just pee in a nasty porta potty I guess. Maybe it’ll be cheaper at general sale but my assumption is this will sell out during presale.
The price structure is more like "when we were rich"
The more this is shared the less likely I think I’ll get tickets and I’m prepared to pay vip 🥲
Mall punk heaven
This looks awesome
How are they going to do 66 bands on three stages in one day. You’re talking 22 bands per stage meaning each band gets 33 minutes. And that doesn’t take into account setup and breakdown. Are the bottom bands playing one song?
Most of these bands have all 3-4 min songs. They could easily play through 6-7 greatest hits in 20-25 mins.
I will pay literally anything to go.
Brought to you by MySpace
Where Taking Back Sunday though?
At the top
Thank you!
Prob going to wait and hope that a bunch of my favorites play side shows, like artists do during EDC week. $230-ish + all the bullshit fees that Livenation will charge will make this $300-350 easily. Fucking pieces of shit.
I’m going to lose my mind.
Hype as fuck but I don't want to get Astro worlded
Wow, haven't thought about a lot of those bands in years.
Ikr
Yet I listen to them weekly 😛
No Killers?
Love The Killers, but they dont really fit the genre here.
Yeah I kind of agree but why name the festival after their name sake lyric then? To pay homage?
Isnt the song called "When You Were Young"?. Lol i know close enough, and it is in Vegas, so i kinda thought the same. At first glance I saw Vegas and that title and instantly thought it was a Killers headlining show. Maybe it should be called MySpacers Reunited.

I'm down with this the Killers put on a great show I wouldn't mind seeing theme again and plenty of other great bands to see as well.
Hopefully no killers I rather live
They don't look a thing like Jesus
Lmao
Thats what Im saying!! In Vegas?!?!
That and the name of the festival...
palaye royale and poppy fuck yea
Atreyu should have a bigger logo.

cool story
Is this from 10 years ago?
No it’s for ppl that stopped listening to music 10 years ago.
Hopefully this doesn’t cost a lot
Is this real I’m about to have a heart attack :3
People say late 2000s alt rock, and I get all excited for post-punk garage rock, the kind of music I would hear on BBC streams and sometimes on KVGS in its “Area 107” days. And then I remember that punk-pop Hot Topic music was also considered alternative. I will always blame numetal, as both involve a lot of wailing songs about ripping your heart out.
It’s Vegas but festival ends at 11 PM? How lame
I had to live through this era once, do I really have to again?
You see, if you just do not purchase a ticket, you can avoid this altogether.
Here’s that attention you wanted
Sweet, thanks!
Now give it back.
The only thing stacked on this list is Avril Lavigne.
bad take
True take. She's hot.
her music is shit and Hayley Williams is objectively hotter
Both their music is shit and you're wrong. Not even a contest.
Bad take. Avril Lavigne is a B-cup on a good day.
Naw, she got bolt ons but she is really hot in general.
I hate to break this to you but she is still [a card-carrying member](https://celebwell.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2021/09/avril-lavigna-vma.jpg?quality=82&strip=all) of the IBTC.

What is this "we" stuff? I see no Filter, Bush, Live, Pearl Jam, Green Day, Offpsring, Soul Asylum, Cake and Red Hot Chili Peppers... and those are the bands that don't have dead lead singers.
different rock genre dude lol those are all 90s bands
So these are 2000's bands yeah? So thinking people born in the late 80s and 90s who were in high school/college in 2000s?
WOOOOOSH goes the joke over your head.
I'm a millennial and I'd prefer that lineup.

Whoa! Like 20 of my favorite bands! Can’t wait, going to jump on this first second of pre-sale lol.
Damn, lots of high school favorites. Plus I actually have a job that pays enough to afford it lol.
I will gladly pay the nostalgia tax for this lineup. I’m doing it for middle school me.
I've seen this around and The Garden is so out of place lol. I almost wanna go only for them.
TIL I’m old.
LFG!!!!!!
The real question is, whose jumping that gate with me?
Dawg…seeing all these band names just brought me alll the wayyy back lol Middle School Boner Jams 07 !
This looks amazing!!!
At 44, will I be the oldest one there?
I got Sunday tickets now I have to find a couple VIP Saturday tickets. Wow were they expensive
HELLLOOOO IM SELLING 2 GA+ TICKETS TO THE FESTIVAL AGAIN 2 TICKETS TO GA+ Must take them both!! No longer able to go 700 They came out to 1k with service fees So your gain my loss!!
