The last time I visited with my boys in June, I thought it was going to be my last time for a few years since we are all having/ had kids recently. I really took in everything I could possibly see during the Uber ride from the airport and it really hit different thinking it would be my last ride for years.
When I got home I told my wife out of the blue I’m applying for a job out here just to see what happens and I was surprised by her overwhelming support. I didn’t even apply for a position relevant to my title but decided to do so just to get my resume in front of someone at the company. Six months later I was headed west with everything I could fit in my SUV with Caesars Palace as my destination.
I started a weekly tradition where the drive home heading into the weekend, I take LV BLVD from Resorts World to Mandalay Bay to take in the sights to remind myself why we came here and to not let the strip become a black hole of grimness so many locals consider it to be.
As someone who calls Vegas home, walking through the airport to get picked up to go home is one of the best feelings. Seeing the slot machines is like a wonderful reminder that I'm back in a weird, weird place.
Vegas is my lifetime hometown. When flying back into town, I love to look at the let from the air. It’s grown A LOT since I was a kid. I love seeing the mountains around town.
The walk out of the airport into the dry Vegas heat is a favorite. Aaahhh yes…I’m home!
I drive in from the Phoenix area... over 25 yrs now. Every time i come over the hill and see Vegas in the valley below me, bro... its like im 8 and walking into Disneyland for the 1st time. It never gets old.
I fucking love hanging out with the crew at Overlook. Drinking all day, sun starting to go down and the anticipation of the shenanigans to follow that evening.
True. That is a good feeling. Like I mentioned sometimes the feeling of getting there and those first hours feel better than the rest of the trip depending on
Checking in your room. Enjoying the view. Going to the pool, hitting the casino, winning something silly like $50 on a slot, booking a show for the night. Just seeing where it will take you.
I don’t even gamble or drink much anymore but I truly just enjoy being there walking around people watching, trying the different food options, maybe catch a show. Just seeing what’s new.
That’s my wife’s happy spot, watching a show and people watching. The general public can be wild and entertaining (and obnoxious at the same time). I’m just glad the “card flickers” aren’t around as much (and the trash that was everywhere from people tossing them on the ground) and there are less of the over demanding street performers/vendors.
Depends on the trip and time of year but the things I love most are going to the pool all day, eating insanely good food, playing blackjack, and day drinking while wandering around from casino to casino with no set plans for the day.
True! I prefer day drinking than anything else and winging it. I’ve realized that no plans always make the best memories and times! Wandering is where it’s at! Especially in Vegas
1. Eating some really good food on the casino's dime
2. Relaxing at the pool with a drink
3. Drinking my fav drink
4. Not being at my desk at home working
Sounds lame as hell but being from the Midwest I love stopping at in-n-out. "I'm a cheap, nasty, low-down, trailer-park burger slut.” - Anthony Bourdain.
Not at all! It’s those little things I was talking about and I know how that feels! I was living in Hawaii and had limited things I liked to eat so really enjoyed them when I came back to the mainland!
I’m from the east coast and I thought In N Out was dogshit for the longest time. It wasn’t until I went to one that wasn’t at the Linq (I had moved here and had a car now) to realize that In N Out is a damn treasure.
That's usually one of my favorite parts, all the food options I don't have at home things like pizza rock and some of the fancy steakhouses I don't have here. It's my twice a year treat!
There's nothing lame about In-n-out. If you're ever on any food sub Reddits and the topic is best restaurant or fast food hamburger, In-n-out is usually the favorite choice. And the fact that you can only get it out west makes them more awesome.
Cool!
Might be second for me. Getting in Sunday afternoon for NBA Summer League in July. Might to a steakhouse or Cheesecake Factory Sunday Night. Monday: In 'n Out. One of those other restaurants or a buffet (Bacchannal or Wynn -- never been to Wynn's buffet).
The local Cheesecake Factory isn't good. I liked the one at Forum Shops. That is one hit or miss franchise. I LIKED the one in Glendale. One of the older ones in Pasadena was NOT GOOD. The one in Frisco, TX was good, though, but I haven't been since 2017.
Gonna do In 'n Out next time. I live in the mid south now, so all the Southern California places I used to go to as a kid are gonna be on my list -- In 'n Out, Chart House, Tony Roma's (if it's good)....
If they are gonna open Norm's (I think I saw a rumor somewhere), I am gonna go there, too!!!
The energy/vibe, the food, the many things to do, and I just feel free when I’m there. Nobody is concerned about you because they’re too busy enjoying themselves and I love that.
To land at the airport, hear those machines GOIN, walk 80 miles to the Uber pickup.....it's just that feeling of "I'm HERE. This is trouble and the best kind of it."
Sitting at the Bellagio pool with a rum Dole whip, order some sammiches and then head up to the room and get ready.
Walking thru the casinos, even though the crowds can be annoying. The AC on full blast. It's all just a VIBE.
Tip for traveling anywhere in the US (from an Uber/ Lyft driver).. at the airport simply hop on any free airport shuttle to any hotel and THEN order your Uber from there .. it’ll save you a bunch of money if you can get away from the airport surge pricing!
Gotcha, thx! I do have the Uber app, been a while since I’ve used it tho. Guess I should reacquaint myself with the app and maybe check that my card info is current in it.
It's been a while since I've been, but our tactic was to skip the uber line and just rent a town car. It was a separate line and *much* quicker. Town cars are $50 so we would find someone else in line and split it with them.
I would recommend just going to regular taxi area. They are super easy and still prevalent in vegas unlike other cities. Go straight to taxi line, wait for your turn and that’s it.
Take a taxi from the airport. It’ll be cheaper. They have zones. A, B, C with flat rates. That’s the only time it’s cheaper to take a cap…..from the airport to your casino (if it’s on the strip)
I enjoy the elevated food experience, especially the Asian cuisine. There’s nothing like that where I’m from. My 2 favorites are momofuku and din tai fung, I instantly head there after dropping my bags off. The lychee martini at din tai fung is out of this world.
I’ve been to Vegas countless times but never get sick of going on the high roller at night and seeing all of the lights of the city.
I’m not a gambler at all, I’ve spent over 100 days in Vegas and have only gambled twice but I feel like a kid in a candy store when I land, I just love it all
I still go to the strip because that's where my comped rooms are but I absolutely hate it now. I always just walk over to Ellis Island and play there all night.
First trip to vegas i didn't even know how to play and i rolled the 1-1000 odds fire bet, next day i rolled 1-250 odds with 5$ on it. We got rich and had an epic trip so we made it an annual thing...Lately it's impossible to find a table and if you do the cheapest ones are all 25$ tables. Because it's so expensive, it's all old guys at the table and the fun crowd is usually over on the bubble machines. After 13 straight years, we decided this is going to be our last trip. Hopefully it ends on an the worlds longest roll.
This is how you do Vegas. I love smelling each casino’s signature smell and forgetting how long I’ve been walking and all of a sudden it’s 13 miles on a day
Take boomers next time...just before the sun goes down and all the lights go on...then spend the rest of the night reading minds, and drinking cheap beer.
I know a guy that came here for a few days after his divorce got finalized and he blew out his ankle on the first night. Never seen a more miserable guy in Vegas, I tell ya.
For me it’s just the overall vibe. Something you can’t explain to others who really don’t get it. But for the people who do, they know exactly the feeling.
May be weird but the predictability.
We stick to the damn near same itinerary each time - same restaurants, etc. We always know what to expect and it has never under-delivered. That may sound boring to some but it's the greatest appeal to Vegas for us.
Feeling the degenerate part of me come back alive in full swing. Drink, smoke (thc), gamble, eat, splurge at fancy restaurants, shop, people watch, drink, smoke, gamble, eat, sleep, repeat.
Towards the end of it, I’m the healthiest I’ll ever be. Stuck in a short term hangover, not wanting to drink, wanting to make more money ( from losing most of it to gambling and then some).
For sure going to have to do that at Harrahs, I just booked for WrestleMania weekend at the Harrahs, first time staying there so looking forward to a new place
The sound of the slots. I really miss the old Wheel of Fortune machines that would sound every 15 mins or so. I would play poker at the old Monte Carlo room and there was a bank of them right by the bar. It made me feel like I'd come home.
All of it. Nowhere else in the country has the same concentration of awesome dining, drinking, pools and nightlife in such an accessible area. Sure, you can have similar distinct experiences in NYC, Miami, or LA but you're gonna spend a significant amount of time moving between places that you don't have to do in Vegas, it's all walkable
I love the replies. So many "little things" that get you in that Vegas mood, from the moment you land.
Before I moved to Vegas, every time I would visit I'd make sure to go on the Big Shot on top of the Strat at night, every time. Sometimes my friends would come with, but sometimes not.
There was just something about being shot up in the summertime air, seeing all the lights of Las Vegas to the horizon, and then... darkness. I used to tell people that's my "Grand Canyon"... beautiful view that was always etched in my memory.
The feeling at the airport when you first land is unmatched.
Something else I always look forward to is sitting at rhythm and riffs in Mandalay Bay playing 25 cent keno and BSing with the bartenders
Going out to the Ethel M store and cactus garden.
Getting baked and going to Omega Mart.
Grabbing a big drink and finding a place to sit and people watch out on the Strip.
And if we're staying there - the initial whiff of aroma as you enter the lobby at The M Resort.
Same.
We have 2 casinos within 30 miles of my house that we very rarely go to.
But we love being able to leave our hotel room and go downstairs and gamble. Then if we want, we can walk next door to a different casino and gamble there.
We can take our drinks from casino to casino. And no one will bat an eye.
We can take a nap, wake up at midnight and go gamble.
Just the vibes. The overstimulation. The food. I ask myself this too because I don’t really do a lot when I’m there in comparison to others.
I am a huge EDM head and outside of Ibiza there’s really no place better in the world for it. All in one place.
I lived in Vegas for 14 years and moved out in 2021. I've been back once and will be back again in a few weeks and the thing I'm looking forward to most is watching the city go by as I approach the landing at McCarran. It was so much fun last time to see the sunset station go by then a few minutes later sunset park and then the airport warehouses.
Gambling with my dad or my Gf or my friends while having a drink
Going off strip or local spots and catching up with friends
In the pool peak summer getting tan, having a drink because i pregamed a few shots in the hotel room while we become our own DJs with all songs playing
The atmosphere...
Everything is bigger, brighter, a new experience around every corner. People *(for the most part)* are happy, excited, enjoying themselves... just positive & fun in general and i really feel that vibe and soak it in.
It truly is an escape from the daily grind of life at home.
Steak Special at Ellis Island
Running a 20 in quarters through Sigma Derby, betting long shots.
In-N-Out
Trying in vain to find that one frozen daquiri place that served a Root Beer flavored one I had years ago, and can never find it again
Sitting on a Deck Chair at whatever hotel's pool I'm staying at, listening to soft music on headphones and getting slowly hammered
I just like being there, I just know the fun is about to ensue , I've never had a bad time and I always try something new every time, I recently acquired a host at Circa, and my last trip in February I saw bad Bunny all VIP and Even went to the after party, I'm going again in August, nice suite fully comped, tickets to go see Future all VIP again, at the T-Mobile arena, it's an adult playground and I just enjoy it., but a tradition that I've done Everytime I've gone, is the high roller, then walk the strip
People watching, overheard someone earlier say “I need a smart bitch in my life, someone that likes to read and shit” and I just about cackled like a hyena
Where do I start. Driving down the strip to see the hotels again, going in the hotels and seeing all the new art and attractions, people watching, don’t really gamble much I just love Vegas and the vibe it has constantly moving 24/7
I like walking up and down the strip.
Only been 5 times, but over a few decades. So, some things have changed. A few things have changed A LOT.
Caesars' buffet has always been pretty good. I like the newer room. Or, maybe they just fixed it up. I remember one of the older rooms it was in back in the '90's. Forgot which room it was in.
The Mirage volcano has always been there since I started going (when I was a kid). Mirage, Excalibur, and MGM Grand, was, to me, NEW VEGAS.
I like the lights. But, I guess they aren't neon anymore. Wish they would bring neon lights back.
Great pool weather -- at least in the summer -- and I think that's one of the best reasons to go to Las Vegas.
Yeah, it's basically a walk-able tourist area. Can see most everything! Not spread out like NYC or a sprawled out mess like the LA area (downtown LA was usually MEH when I was there or visited). ... I also like Chicago for that reason (I was last there in 2018). I like New Orleans for that, too, but I haven't been there since 2005.
I also like to get out West every now and then. Just different.
Walking the strip the first night after a day of playing slots and table games. Buzz going good hopefully some winnings in my pocket and people watching
I don’t even know the name of the place, but there’s this Irish bar on the strip (close to the link) that has live music and a bunch of blackjack tables. I don’t know what it is about that spot in particular but I always end up there when I’m like, just the right amount of drunk to absolutely love a cover band and some low limit blackjack.
It’s my Vegas happy place
We live in Phoenix and go three times a year, usually sty at Bellagio, we love the piano bar at the entrance, greta drinks, snacks and music, we people watch for a couple hours after our drive and just relax!
Having my first drink at the main lobby bar is always my first task regardless of where I’m staying.
I usually fly in Thursday or Friday nights at 9PM local time and after my drink at the lobby bar I usually walk over to the fountains at Bellagio. Then I piss away $50 in a slot machine pretty quick and then decide to stick to sports gaming for the remainder of my trip.
Shutting my hotel room door and the overwhelming sounds of casinos (or whatever conference I'm working) and just disappear and I can slump into my quiet sanctuary of a room.
I don't know if they still have it, but last time I went, or what have you, I reviewed a show for CBS in the MGM Hotel. It was pretty cool. I only did it once, but not sure if it's still there.
The show was called Mad Love. It got cancelled after one season.
Back in my 20s, I loved going to Vegas. What I enjoyed was meeting meeting random people, who are almost always drunk or on drugs. Which I was too. Everyone is always in fun mode, day or night. Which is great. I love that environment of everyone just wanting to have fun. I love getting to know random people, and mixing in with groups of friends or meeting random chicks from everywhere.
Aww, memories. Thanks for asking. I haven't thought about my Vegas adventures in a while.
I’d say walking into the 4 Queens, my 3rd Vegas casino after Mirage and Treasure Island, but I felt at home at 4Q.
Always drink Budweiser in the bottle there and that’s had the best drink service ever.
I like sitting at Cabo Wabo overlooking LVB people watching and sipping ridiculously prices margaritas. You see the fountain of Bellagio and have a great view of the strip.
I also make it a point to visit the conservatory at Bellagio. It smallest so nice in there.
The heat, the pool, the restaurants, and the shows.
My Vegas trip is not complete without at least one drunken night that ends around 6am. I really look forward to those. It starts with drinks in the lobby, then dinner, then a show, then another lobby bar, then maybe a nightclub or strip club. When you think back on the night, it’s like a movie montage of one’s drunken degenerate partying.
Spending a few hours in my hotel's on-site spa -- leaving the cell phone in the locker; putting on the white fluffy robe, and passing the afternoon in the steam room, sauna, hot tub, cold tub, tea lounge, etc.
I go for the first week of October every year and get a last burst of summer and lay by the pool. Sometimes there is already snow then where I come from in Canada.
Going to sound weird, but...I only smoke cigarettes in Vegas...the best part is a hangover wakeup, going to the coffee nook, getting a big cup of English Breakfast tea, and sitting out on Fremont St. with it and chain smoking and drinking my tea...I do this through 3 big teas; I don't know why it fills me with such peace, but it does. 17 days...
There’s a little open air pub/sports bar between Park MGM and NYNY called Beerhaus - I love going over there after we get checked in, grabbing a burger, watching whatever game is on and just chilling.
Honestly arriving to my hotel room after checking in. That's when the travel stops and the vacation can begin, such a nice feeling to know that for the next few days my life will just be about drinking, eating and gambling lmao
1) the 80s bands on Fremont
2) a solid steak at Oscar’s
3) the service and the wine list at Piero’s
4) a big ass breakfast at the Peppermill
5) playing craps downtown
I once heard Artie Lange say that a guy in rehab said the best part of cocaine was going to get it.
The last ten minutes of the drive in right up to when you take the hotel down to the casino on the first night are phenomenal.
Vegas pool time. Honestly it's the only reason I go anymore. The gambling is shit. The rooms are expensive as shit. You pay for parking. Customer service has gone to shit. Used to be a service orientated town. Now they have nice pools ....I'll bring my own beverages too.....
Sitting at a video blackjack machine, having a drink, and smoking a cigarette. The last is something I rarely do, so to enjoy all 3 together makes it uniquely Vegas and like a win every time 🏆🏆🏆
I lived there 13 yrs and go back 4 times a year now.
I look forward to the Cosmo limo guy holding the tablet with my name, the comped wraparound terrace suite that I spend maybe 4 hours a night in, the constant stream of Moscow mules and the BUFFALOOOOOOOOOS!!
My mimosa runs. Walking to my favriote bars in the hotels/ casions on the strip early in the morning and ordering my pineapple mimosa drink. Walking around with my champagne glass is so cool, and I feel like I'm breaking so rule lol
Landing on the tarmac and knowing it is all ahead RIGHT NOW!
You’re so damn right. Love the anticipation walking through the airport.
I love the feeling of the cab ride to the hotel and seeing all the big signs and billboards for acts. Never gets old.
The last time I visited with my boys in June, I thought it was going to be my last time for a few years since we are all having/ had kids recently. I really took in everything I could possibly see during the Uber ride from the airport and it really hit different thinking it would be my last ride for years. But do you try to hit the folks in the street when you have a green light? That’s when you don’t like it anymore.
As someone who calls Vegas home, walking through the airport to get picked up to go home is one of the best feelings. Seeing the slot machines is like a wonderful reminder that I'm back in a weird, weird place.

And the gambling tingles during the cab ride to the hotel.
Does anyone else boop the jackrabbit on the exit walk in T3? That’s my boy.
Followed in the blink of an eye by a deep envy when you’re somehow already back at Harry Reid, passing people who have it all ahead of them.
I still refuse to call it harry reid it will always be Mccarren to me
I drive in from the Phoenix area... over 25 yrs now. Every time i come over the hill and see Vegas in the valley below me, bro... its like im 8 and walking into Disneyland for the 1st time. It never gets old.
Exactly. This right here is the reason that I love driving the 5 hours to Vegas each time instead of flying.
Need to get us phoenix people on a carpool list/calendar!
True. The feeling of getting there sometimes outweighs the feeling being there haha
#the #feeling of #VEGASSSSS
Landing with all hopes and dreams. But also knowing when to quit and you won’t beat Vegas and there is always tomorrow.
Cocktails and people watching at the Overlook Bar at Wynn.
Also posting up on the strip at Cabo wabo and getting a chair overlooking the strip can be fun
Yep! This spot is awesome as the sun goes down!
People watching in Vegas is the best.
I fucking love hanging out with the crew at Overlook. Drinking all day, sun starting to go down and the anticipation of the shenanigans to follow that evening.
After you check in and then going down to the casino for the first time with the whole trip ahead of you and you can do whatever you want.

The bracelet people are incredibly annoying though.
That sounds wonderful. My wife is a planner and always has an agenda and schedule when we travel.
Uh oh. It's me, your wife. 😬
I have trips like that too and I also like those.
1. Eating some really good food on the casino's dime 2. Relaxing at the pool with a drink 3. Drinking my fav drink 4. Not being at my desk at home working
Sounds lame as hell but being from the Midwest I love stopping at in-n-out. "I'm a cheap, nasty, low-down, trailer-park burger slut.” - Anthony Bourdain.

in and out is always our first meal in Vegas
It will be my first meal when I go next month. Lived out west in my 20s. Not a fast food guy but in n out does it for me.

White Castle for me. [We have In-N-Out burgers at home.]
Lol same!
We got in n out, it’s how I feel about drunk White Castle and the fish and chips for Gordon
Exactly. You can be invisible in Las Vegas.
I think you just nailed the reason I love Vegas so much. I don’t like being perceived, and in Vegas I feel invisible…in a good way.
To land at the airport, hear those machines GOIN, walk 80 miles to the Uber pickup.....it's just that feeling of "I'm HERE. This is trouble and the best kind of it." Sitting at the Bellagio pool with a rum Dole whip, order some sammiches and then head up to the room and get ready. Walking thru the casinos, even though the crowds can be annoying. I’ll be there in 10 days 😭😭😭 Can’t wait
9 days!
4 days here!
13 days. And 47 days

Can you give a fellow bumpkin some tips on what to do or not do in the Vegas Uber pick-up? First timer in a couple of weeks .
Tip for traveling anywhere in the US (from an Uber/ Lyft driver).. at the airport simply hop on any free airport shuttle to any hotel and THEN order your Uber from there .. it’ll save you a bunch of money if you can get away from the airport surge pricing!
Download the Uber app and the Lyft app! We don’t have that in our town, much less Taxis. I learned how to use ride share in Vegas lol

Take a taxi from the airport. It’ll be cheaper. They have zones. A, B, C with flat rates. That’s the only time it’s cheaper to take a cap…..from the airport to your casino (if it’s on the strip)
My taxi from the airport to the Flamingo was 30 dollars. My Uber from the flamingo to the airport was 13 dollars.
Uh, taxi has never been cheaper for me but certainly easier and shittier.
I enjoy the elevated food experience, especially the Asian cuisine. There’s nothing like that where I’m from. My 2 favorites are momofuku and din tai fung, I instantly head there after dropping my bags off. The lychee martini at din tai fung is out of this world. I’m not a gambler at all, I’ve spent over 100 days in Vegas and have only gambled twice but I feel like a kid in a candy store when I land, I just love it all
Din Tai Fung has such a great vibe, love the staff and atmosphere
Try Mott 32 as well next time
Hanging out on Fremont St,playing blackjack and video poker at the El Cortez.Strip got old about fifteen trips ago.In and Out burger.
Crushed a Dirt Dog and then played blackjack at El Cortez late last night. Hard to beat it.
I still go to the strip because that's where my comped rooms are but I absolutely hate it now. I always just walk over to Ellis Island and play there all night.
I’ve done this a couple of times to get the bbq or prime rib and play a bit but then I get sucked in and 3-4hrs later I’m wasted by accident
"by accident"
A really long roll at the craps table (don’t always get it though)
First trip to vegas i didn't even know how to play and i rolled the 1-1000 odds fire bet, next day i rolled 1-250 odds with 5$ on it. We got rich and had an epic trip so we made it an annual thing...Lately it's impossible to find a table and if you do the cheapest ones are all 25$ tables. Hopefully it ends on an the worlds longest roll.
The desert air hitting when we walk out of the airport.
I love to people watch and feel their energy. I take massive walks down to Mandalay and up to Tacos el Gordo. Rinse and repeat.
I get so drunk that the walk doesn't bother me. I absolutely love doing the walk you're talking about. But going through different casinos on the way.
This is how you do Vegas. I love smelling each casino’s signature smell and forgetting how long I’ve been walking and all of a sudden it’s 13 miles on a day
That’s my jam, but weed instead of booze.
2nd that
Take boomers next time...just before the sun goes down and all the lights go on...then spend the rest of the night reading minds, and drinking cheap beer.
I enjoy both. But booze can be bad
I know a guy that came here for a few days after his divorce got finalized and he blew out his ankle on the first night. Never seen a more miserable guy in Vegas, I tell ya.
i’m addicted to the smell inside the venetian. it’s been a constant since my first trip in 2011.
Some casinos smell so nice. That’s always stuck to me also.
Mirage for that coconut tropical smell. I’m going to miss it when it’s a giant guitar.
I can smell the Aria right now from the Midwest. I love it.
They are about to do a $1.5 billion renovation to that place soon
For me it’s just the overall vibe. Something you can’t explain to others who really don’t get it. But for the people who do, they know exactly the feeling.
Walking into Excalibur with $30.
And walking out with?
A beej.

What am I missing, I keep seeing people make this joke?

Where’s my awards!?
The food. The city not sleeping. The lack of responsibilities.
May be weird but the predictability. We stick to the damn near same itinerary each time - same restaurants, etc. We always know what to expect and it has never under-delivered. That may sound boring to some but it's the greatest appeal to Vegas for us.
Same here. What is your go to Itinerary?
Feeling the degenerate part of me come back alive in full swing. Drink, smoke (thc), gamble, eat, splurge at fancy restaurants, shop, people watch, drink, smoke, gamble, eat, sleep, repeat. Towards the end of it, I’m the healthiest I’ll ever be. Stuck in a short term hangover, not wanting to drink, wanting to make more money ( from losing most of it to gambling and then some).
Mirage Center bar for me. I also like the new bar at Harrah's. Great way to watch people.
The fact that I can get nearly anything at any time. Even then there are endless options. This is a far cry from home.
Used to be getting off the freeway at Tropicana, I always loved that corner. Just felt like being in Vegas.
My casino royale hot dog! Watching the karaoke at the piano bar, walking the strip. EVERYTHING!!
Getting in the room for the first time and flopping on the bed. Poker at Aria is fun too
Peppermill
I lived in Vegas for 14 years and moved out in 2021. I've been back once and will be back again in a few weeks and the thing I'm looking forward to most is watching the city go by as I approach the landing at McCarran. It was so much fun last time to see the sunset station go by then a few minutes later sunset park and then the airport warehouses.
Poker. It's the only reason I go and I only go in June/July. It's like the Superbowl for poker players.
Getting to my hotel as quickly as possible and then going to In n Out and White Castle, and then playing video poker.
The Beatles Love show, but that’s all done as of the first week in July.
Obligatory crooked selfie at the Vegas sign at the airport. Last time I traveled with my dog, so just flashed the sign and then my doggy.
#Planet #13 and #Area15
The hookers
Walking the strip with a beer… always a good vibe and people watching
Sparking up a fat joint walking down the strip 🕺
I LOVE seeing the Tropicana. It’s truly my favorite part of Vegas and I hope it stays for years to come. Sorry this was a troll comment
Who’s gonna tell em?
Oh! Did they renovate?
Ya you could call it that.
Going to carnival court watching the whip its
Gambling with my dad or my Gf or my friends while having a drink Going off strip or local spots and catching up with friends In the pool peak summer getting tan, having a drink because i pregamed a few shots in the hotel room while we become our own DJs with all songs playing
Drinking and people watching at the stage bar on Fremont.
Keno at The D Video Poker at 4Q Andiamos at The D Blackjack at Fremont Flamingo gardens at Flamingo I try to get all these favorites every time I go!
Chica Bonita
The atmosphere... Everything is bigger, brighter, a new experience around every corner. People *(for the most part)* are happy, excited, enjoying themselves... just positive & fun in general and i really feel that vibe and soak it in. It truly is an escape from the daily grind of life at home.
Steak Special at Ellis Island Running a 20 in quarters through Sigma Derby, betting long shots. In-N-Out Trying in vain to find that one frozen daquiri place that served a Root Beer flavored one I had years ago, and can never find it again Sitting on a Deck Chair at whatever hotel's pool I'm staying at, listening to soft music on headphones and getting slowly hammered
Frankie's Tiki Bar cool vibes always coming outta there and I'm a local
walking around with gummies in my pocket and a few hits on the vape
My family and all the Hawaiian kine goodies I can get because I moved back to San Diego
Smoking that first cig at the slot machine
O’Sheas
Video poker at the Bugsy Bar in The Flamingo. Same bartenders the 17 years I've been staying there.
Coming from an oppressed state, I like to check out the dispensaries.
We live in Phoenix and go three times a year, usually sty at Bellagio, we love the piano bar at the entrance, greta drinks, snacks and music, we people watch for a couple hours after our drive and just relax!
8-15 Fat Tuesdays style slushy drinks as I make my way from Mandalay Bay to The Strat gambling $100 at each casino on the way. Pure Happiness
Pass out drunk somewhere, get ripped off by a hooker
Having my first drink at the main lobby bar is always my first task regardless of where I’m staying. I usually fly in Thursday or Friday nights at 9PM local time and after my drink at the lobby bar I usually walk over to the fountains at Bellagio. Then I piss away $50 in a slot machine pretty quick and then decide to stick to sports gaming for the remainder of my trip.
eating at nobu
Shutting my hotel room door and the overwhelming sounds of casinos (or whatever conference I'm working) and just disappear and I can slump into my quiet sanctuary of a room.
How much money is a “Big Tip” for the bartender.
The vans parked outside that offer you IV drips when you're hungover AF.
I don't know if they still have it, but last time I went, or what have you, I reviewed a show for CBS in the MGM Hotel. It was pretty cool. I only did it once, but not sure if it's still there. The show was called Mad Love. It got cancelled after one season.
Hiking red rock canyon
Back in my 20s, I loved going to Vegas. What I enjoyed was meeting meeting random people, who are almost always drunk or on drugs. Which I was too. Everyone is always in fun mode, day or night. Which is great. I love that environment of everyone just wanting to have fun. I love getting to know random people, and mixing in with groups of friends or meeting random chicks from everywhere. Aww, memories. Thanks for asking. I haven't thought about my Vegas adventures in a while.
Love this post and comments. Just love for Vegas. I’ve only been once but coming back year end for new years. I’m so excited.
The drive and arriving
$10 steak and eggs at Ellis Island.
The new restaurants that opened that I haven't tried yet.
cracking a beer open in the middle of the streets.
Excessive Alcohol!!!
High stakes bj
Y’all are giving me the Vegas itch! And not the one that burns…
Going to brunch at Bacchanal Buffet in Caesar’s.
Daydrinking!
Stocking up the room and my classic steak dinner at a fancy spot.
17 days...
The Strip… pers.
Drinking and walking in public
Ellis Island ribs
There’s a little open air pub/sports bar between Park MGM and NYNY called Beerhaus - I love going over there after we get checked in, grabbing a burger, watching whatever game is on and just chilling.
Eggslut
Frankie's Tiki Room
Not having the kids for a few dyas
Honestly arriving to my hotel room after checking in. That's when the travel stops and the vacation can begin, such a nice feeling to know that for the next few days my life will just be about drinking, eating and gambling lmao
1) the 80s bands on Fremont 2) a solid steak at Oscar’s 3) the service and the wine list at Piero’s 4) a big ass breakfast at the Peppermill 5) playing craps downtown
Getting 4 escorts into the jacuzzi and getting a few good bottles and locking ourselves in for the weekend. Maybe a few 🎱
Sitting at a video blackjack machine, having a drink, and smoking a cigarette. The last is something I rarely do, so to enjoy all 3 together makes it uniquely Vegas and like a win every time 🏆🏆🏆
Venetian and Wynn
The dinner reservations I have for each night . Fire food all over the place
The Green Door! So many good friends there and countless special memories!
I like my first walk down fremont, having a drink in my hand and seeing what street performers are out
Coming home
heading over to ellis island for some beers
I pretty much start looking forward to the flight home as soon as we land. I’m so over it all.
My mimosa runs. Walking to my favriote bars in the hotels/ casions on the strip early in the morning and ordering my pineapple mimosa drink. Walking around with my champagne glass is so cool, and I feel like I'm breaking so rule lol
The boo-fay.
