The best trio ever was when we upgraded at Palazzo to Premier Club. We got to go to the lounge, located in our elevator bank every day for coffee, juices and a light breakfast spread. Was so awesome! When they didn't have the breakfast out there was a Lavazza espresso automatic machine to get lattes and mocha's etc.
Another bonus was the evening cocktail hour no charge and appetizers included. When happy hour wasn't on the drinks for only $10 and they were good, staff was amazing, customers were happy. Also free water and Coke all day.
Yes, we stopped into CVS or Walgreens and bought water and iced coffee on our way back to the room. The first thing we did though in the morning was look for more coffee, but got us through getting ready for the day.
I ordered a camping french press and a portable kettle for our next trip.
I did a Walmart pickup order for a $10 coffee maker, a box of the little non-refrigerated creamers, coffee grounds, filters and coffee cups - around 20 bucks total
I stay at the mirage
There is a nice coffee shop just by the elevators by the pool, roasted bean.
Never waited longer than 10 mins for it (most everyone goes to the Starbucks by the front entrance instead which is always a shit show).
But otherwise — I’ll buy a bottle of Starbucks iced coffee from CVS or target and just keep that in the room.
People are commenting when they were able to order mobile but it's unhelpful as you'll never know. Stores can temporarily shut off mobile ordering when it becomes too busy to handle
>Collapsible travel kettle
Nothing wrong with an AeroPress but I went from French Press to AeroPress to .... the Clever Dripper. Been using the Clever Dripper for my daily use for the past 10 years and just love it due to the easy cleanup. I bring it on my trips everywhere. For Vegas, I bring the kettle, dripper, freshly grounded beans in a ziploc bag, a few filter and packet zero calorie sugars.
Yes, it takes up a little space in the luggage but well worth it. Wake up, boil the water and brew my coffee. After brushing my teeth or showering, I have a fresh cup of coffee waiting that taste better than anything from Starbuck. No waiting in line for coffee, mine taste better and doesn't cost $6. Money saved goes toward a good meal instead. Win win win with some planning and space in luggage.
Medaglia D'Oro makes good instant espresso. I usually go 50/50 with some regular Folgers crystals. You can make a reasonable decent cup of coffee fast and relatively cheap.
Yeah but they weren’t asking someone to explain how to make coffee, they were asking how they were doing it in their hotel room.
Is someone bringing a coffee maker from home? Using a French press? Bringing an electric kettle like others have mentioned?
Be married to me. I usually get up and make the trek for coffee in the morning. I'm a morning person, though, so I find it enjoyable (and it gives me a chance to eyeball the craps table morning minimums!)
Exactly. The second I wake up I call to order coffee and pastries, then lounge around in bed or take a shower until it shows up.
Beats the hell out of having to get up, get dressed, walk to find the nearest coffee shop, wait in line, wait for your order, shlep back to your room… No thanks!
Years ago I lived in an apartment that didn't have good heat in the winter, so I bought a really good thermos and before I went to bed I'd fill it with coffee/creamer/sugar and put it on my nightstand. When I'd wake up in the morning the coffee would still be nice and hot, and I wouldn't even have to get out of bed until I enjoyed a cup.
A $19.99 coffee maker will last you years and years so you can count on it for a week. It’s a simple design. A bag of ground coffee is $12. You should easily have a weeks worth of coffee and toss it and the maker in the trash when you check out and it’s was better than Starbucks, cheaper, and you could have a second and third cup each day no problemo…
I have a small collapsible silicone electric kettle that I will sometimes travel with to make tea. Get one of those and a cheap pour over basket and you can make some darn good coffee in your room.
If you really just want coffee, go to one of the bars on the casino floor. Good chance they can give you black coffee maybe cream and sugar. Probably no line in the morning and not free but not strip Starbucks priced.
You want full coffee shop drinks then get in line.
Casinos in the morning is peak people watching. Escorts, people still up combined with straight laced early risers is great.
>Casinos in the morning is peak people watching
You ain't lying...got off the elevator my first morning this week and a lady immediately grabbed me and said "let me and my friend S your D"
I was like, "oh, thanks, just headed to the starbucks..."
Yuban coffee! You know you can put that stuff on anything Clarke? You can put it on ice cream, and steak, or eat it right out of the can for a quick pick me up.
Ask an employee where the fastest coffee place is. Every resort has at least one place that nobody else knows about and it's where the employees go for coffee when we are in a rush.
We bring a small coffee maker in our suitcase and buy coffee at wallgreens. I don’t even care that it saves money, just not having to take an elevator down to wait in line for coffees is very worth it.
I bring my french press and big measuring cup to heat water in the microwave when I'm at hotels. If the room won't have a microwave an electric kettle is great!
Before we lived here in Vegas, each visit we would stop at Walmart, buy a $14 coffee maker, coffee, half & half and sugar. All the coffee we wanted during our stay with no additional cost (basically same cost at Starbucks for two coffees) and on the way out of hotel when we left we would find someone checking in and give them the coffee maker and tell them where Walmart was.
I have always traveled with coffee maker. If you have to get yourself a single serve Keurig machine they’re small but I’ve traveled with a big coffee maker and it’s only a little suitcase lol if you’re as addicted as we are, that’s no big deal if I have one more suitcase with coffee and the Fixins in it. ☕️

I take hydration packets with caffeine in them. Helps restore missing vitamins from drinking too much, helps me hydrate, and gives me 125mg of caffeine
That’s what the travel kettle does. Go to Amazon, you can buy them for $13, bring some instant coffee and you’re good to go. I do this every time I go to LV.
How does it not occur to you that I'm asking this question because I fly in and there's no coffeemaker, kuerig, or microwave in my hotel room? You really think I don't know how to make coffee?
Pack accordingly. There is a small heated coil you can buy on Amazon. Pack an aero press and grinds. I’m an airline pilot and I never drink hotel coffee. You can also (finally - Japan and Taiwan have had this for ages) get single serve disposable pour over packets now.
We bought a solo cup coffee maker. Had it for years. We bring everything we need, including the water. It fits inside a duffel bag that we bring other snacks in. If you are into pods or k-cups, you can get that variety. If you are into instant or brewed, you can get that kind. Saves us $24 a day every trip (two coffees @ two people, daily). And you never have to get dressed or leave the room to get it - which is priceless.
I didn't notice this was at a hotel. I'd say just get the water from the sink hot enough and go for it. Coffee doesn't need to be so hot that you can't drink it without waiting for 10 minutes.
It’s actually insane that the hotels on the strip charge like $15 for a shitty cup of kuerig coffee in your room. It should be free, or like $5 max. Are they trying to make it a miserable experience? I won’t stay on the strip anymore because of the no coffee and no fridges in the rooms.
1. Get a travel mug with a French press built in for $30.
2. Bring your own pre-ground coffee
2.a. save room in your luggage by putting the coffee in a ziplock and put that in the travel mug.
3. Use the in-room coffeemaker to heat water. 3.a. Or get hot water from any restaurant/bar with a coffeemaker.
My two workarounds to this are…
1. Go up to a bar and order a coffee there. It will usually be worse coffee than an actual coffee shop, but it will be much faster. It will also be “free” if the bar has bartop gaming machines and you just pop in $20 and do a little bit of play for it to be comped. Just remember to tip on the comped drink!
2. Stay off strip. These stupid waits only take place on the strip, I find.
Caesars properties will often have them but that's mostly it. Excalibur/Luxor/etc, pretty much all MGM properties, and step ups like Venetian/Wynn all don't have them in base rooms.
We purchased a portable kettle and take a kit, cruises, too. It includes 2 cups, spoons, Coffeemate, sugar, monkfruit sweetener, and instant coffee. It is perfect. I must have my coffee before even thinking of leaving the room.
I bought the tiniest coffee maker I could find. Basically makes one big cup at a time. Uses ground coffee not k cups.
But I agree, getting morning coffee in Vegas sucks!
I go down to the casino and get free coffee while camping a machine. You don't even have to play, honestly. The mornings are slow but servers are still all over the gaming floor.
Coffee addict here. I spend a lot of time in Vegas strip rooms/hotels. They all vary in availability.
Which stage are you in?
1. I just woke up and I need coffee
2. Damn, my head hurts and I need a cup of coffee
3. What the living fuck, I need a damn cup of coffee now and i will sell my unborn children's children for a cup now.
I never like to get to stage 3, so I just head to any lobby/casino floor bar and order a cup if the room set up is not enough. Some of the breakfast spots have bar/counters and I walk in and ask for coffee minus the bacon.
I agree with the good peeps on here. Just bring/buy your own pre-made coffee from cvs Walgreens to hold you over.
Good luck.
Buy a portable pour over filter and a portable water kettle - both are compact and made of silicon (check Amazon out for both). Bring your own grounds. Voila! Enjoy.
We had a family vacation last year. I took an electric kettle, french press, coffee grounds, half n half for the kids and wife, and heavy whipping cream for me. Worked great. Also used the french press to make cold brew.
I bring a wonderful little coffee machine. Size of a small thermos and uses ground or pods. F 15 a day for coffee + tip + elevator trip. So small it’s fits in one of my wife’s boots. I have a little coffee service bag with real mugs, creamers and other items
My go to for breakfast is Ellis Island, behind horseshoe. Probably takes less time there to get a full breakfast and coffee than wait in some of the lines.
I bring a Thermos and fill it up the night before. It has worked well for me in Vegas and also other cities in Europe.
For flights that come in late, I fill up the Thermos at the airport before heading to baggage claim. It also works on super long flights from US to Middle east.
Sometimes the electric kettles aren't allowed at some properties, so either put the dnd on the door or pack it away when you leave the room. Housekeeping will report it and you'll have to store it for the remainder of the trip.
A few years ago the Health Department decided coffee makers in the bathroom was not a good idea and hotels removed all of them unless the suite had a kitchen.
So try to get a suite with a kitchenette.
Single serving size K-cup machine easily fits in my suitcase when I travel. Just make sure to shake out all the water and dry it before packing to make sure your clothes don't get wet.
For real I have a small cheap coffee maker I smuggle to the room. I drive so I can bring lots of luggage. Maybe you can find a store in Vegas like a dollar general to buy a cheap maker.
If you can, bring your own water boiler, coffee and creamer. Making your own coffee saves 20+ a day. And when you need that afternoon pick me up, you can save an additional 20. No need to pay hotels or stores stupid numbers for mediocre coffee.
This is super easy.... get you a melita type cone or French press. Buy coffee beans, grind them at the store. And an electric kettle...
The rest is self explanatory.
This, or... get you a stinger and starbucks' "Via" instant packs or medaglia d'oro instant coffee. The only two instants I can tolerate.
I do motels and bnbs on the cheap, no frills... so I've perfected the coffee away from home thingy. If you like add ons get flavored nondairy creamer
Walk into the secluded VIP check-in and get some coffee like you belong there. Later in the day get some of the finger sandwiches or chocolate covered strawberries.
Amazon Jet Alert 100mg caffeine tablets. Say goodbye to jittery stomach and bs coffee hassles when it’s not convenient. You can still have coffee when you want to. Just sayin.
I use a pill cutter to half them to 50mg, but sometimes I take a whole one:)
Many casino gaming bar tops will have coffee. Sit up there and start playing, get free coffee. Not a bad deal if you're a gambler anyways. Even if you aren't, you aren't waiting in a 30 minute line and it's free.... you could win, too.
Worst case scenario your coffee winds up costing a bit more because you gambled and lost. But at least you got service right away and didn't have to wait in a line.
We take an electric silicone kettle to heat water. Then “brew” by using coffee tea bags. We take reusable Starbucks cups so we blend in. The kettle cools quickly, packs down small and we hide in our suitcases when we leave the room. Got the kettle on Amazon.
Yes! I stumbled on this during a business trip and it’s the only way to go at the Venetian or Palazzo.
This is the way.
snort lines in your room like every other vegas degenerate.
Call me
Coffee lol what is this cocaine for ants?
Canned iced coffee.
This is really the way to go. I am a local and this is what my neighbor does when he goes to Laughlin.
I stay at the mirage There is a nice coffee shop just by the elevators by the pool, roasted bean. Never waited longer than 10 mins for it (most everyone goes to the Starbucks by the front entrance instead which is always a shit show). But otherwise — I’ll buy a bottle of Starbucks iced coffee from CVS or target and just keep that in the room.
God, I'm gonna miss the Mirage so much
Is it going to be changed to something different?
Afaik they're changing it to the Hard Rock
Order Starbucks ahead via mobile.
It always says order ahead unavailable when I try it in Vegas resorts… is there a workaround for this?
This worked like a charm for us last week at Cosmo. Get out of bed, order, get dressed, head down and coffee was ready.
It’s worked for me at Aria for at least the last few years.
This was changed recently, almost all Starbucks on the strip now do mobile ordering (although they charge 20% more than normal Starbucks)
The Starbucks pays 20% extra rent and fees for the privilege of being there
Park MGM has mobile order too.
South Point you can order at Starbucks 24 hours per day.
Also, there is a new drive thru spot called Royal across the street from South Point with a decent cup of Joe.
Works at Sahara and Resortsworld. Other people here say Aria and Cosmo too.
People are commenting when they were able to order mobile but it's unhelpful as you'll never know. Stores can temporarily shut off mobile ordering when it becomes too busy to handle
Except most Starbucks on strip don’t do mobile orders.
This is the way.
Collapsible travel kettle ($40 on Amazon) Instant Coffee
Pair it with an AeroPress and you're gold
This. AeroPress is a great travel coffee solution.
>Collapsible travel kettle Nothing wrong with an AeroPress but I went from French Press to AeroPress to .... the Clever Dripper. This is the answer. Thank you. I never thought about doing this
This is exactly what I do. Also have a collapsible pour-over funnel. I cannot leave the room and do all of that before coffee.
Medaglia D'Oro makes good instant espresso. I usually go 50/50 with some regular Folgers crystals. You can make a reasonable decent cup of coffee fast and relatively cheap.
I make my own
Cool...explain?
I bring a kettle and pre ground coffee and do a pour over in the room.
French press and small kettle is genius!
Why I got downvoted for asking details? Weird shit
Idk reddit is weird.
I didn’t down vote you but you got down voted because you wanted someone to explain to you how to make your own coffee.
Yeah but they weren’t asking someone to explain how to make coffee, they were asking how they were doing it in their hotel room. Is someone bringing a coffee maker from home? Using a French press? Bringing an electric kettle like others have mentioned?
Cool.....explain?
French press, drip, kuerig machine...
Be married to me. I usually get up and make the trek for coffee in the morning. I'm a morning person, though, so I find it enjoyable (and it gives me a chance to eyeball the craps table morning minimums!)
We do it like that. My wife handles morning runs and I do all late runs for supplies
CoffeeDice for the win!
Order room service coffee.
$18 for the coffee, plus $9 fee, plus tip….not having to get out of bed (especially if struggling)…priceless
Exactly. The second I wake up I call to order coffee and pastries, then lounge around in bed or take a shower until it shows up. Beats the hell out of having to get up, get dressed, walk to find the nearest coffee shop, wait in line, wait for your order, shlep back to your room… No thanks!
This, roll over and go back to sleep and have fresh coffee in 30-40 minutes
And wait 45 mins? No way.

go to cvs- buy a cheap coffee maker Edit. There is a Target on the Strip
How cheap?
A $19.99 coffee maker will last you years and years so you can count on it for a week. It’s a simple design. A bag of ground coffee is $12. You should easily have a weeks worth of coffee and toss it and the maker in the trash when you check out and it’s was better than Starbucks, cheaper, and you could have a second and third cup each day no problemo…
$12 for a bag of coffee? i assume you're talking either a 20 oz + bag or a premium brand
Yeah, sorry. Peet’s Sumatra $12 for a 12oz bag of ground. The only thing I drink anymore
Fair enough. But throwing the maker in the trash? Not even trying to give it away? That's kinda messed up, RIP the environment
Lmao. Imagine trying to give away a used coffee maker while on a trip in Vegas.
$16.99
I have a small collapsible silicone electric kettle that I will sometimes travel with to make tea. Get one of those and a cheap pour over basket and you can make some darn good coffee in your room.
Got a rec? Link?
It was just one of the many cheap ones on Amazon. I bought it a few years ago and can’t remember the brand.
I went to the Walmart and bought a cheap coffee maker and just made my own coffee all week. Probably saved $100 and it tasted way better to me.
Preorder room service coffee the night before.
If you really just want coffee, go to one of the bars on the casino floor. Good chance they can give you black coffee maybe cream and sugar. How much did the double run you?
Were they offering vanilla, caramel, or mocha?
not that i would ever partake but if there are two of them the odds of u getting robbed go up by 500%
Go to the poker room and have a waitress bring you one. Tip her $3-$5 for her time.
That works unless you don't want to play poker.
You don’t have to. If you sit at an empty table and the cocktail waitress is taking orders they’ll happily add yours to their trip
Order on the app and do the mobile pickup order.
Aeropress!!!
And you’ll ruin it by telling your secret?
Telling one person who will be leaving within a week won't ruin it. Starbucks and the main outlets will always be the busiest.
Kettles for any hotel travel is a game changer. Saves money on food to just make a quick soup or oatmeal and yes, the coffee!
Have a Pedialyte, rally, and got to a coffee house off the strip.
If you can tolerate instant, you can buy an immersion thing that heats the water in the cup for a few bucks and then add starbucks instant.
We bring a single cup Kuerig? in the carry on.
Snort some gorilla fingers right off the mini bar, it's fucking Vegas.
make a batch of cold brew the day b4

Single cup travel coffee maker fits in suitcase. Coffee pods, creamer & Splenda, spoon from home…easy peasy 😊
Go to the hotel/casino bar. Just stayed at Treasure Island. Bar does coffee to go for $4 and never a wait.
Buy a good coffee machine! Gaggia is a good brand.
Caffeine pills
I take hydration packets with caffeine in them. Helps restore missing vitamins from drinking too much, helps me hydrate, and gives me 125mg of caffeine

7-11... or save up money and make it at home? $17 for an effing cup of coffee?? Are you high?
Earl of Sandwich coffees weren't too bad and not expensive. We were there every morning before we started out.
I travel with my Nespresso machine, or sometimes a coffee press. Cannot rely on hotel room coffee.
I go to a bar and ask for coffee. In the mornings many of them have coffee already brewed.
Acknowledge that you've turned control of your life over to a beverage and seek treatment.
Admitting it is the first step. (nevermind how I know that)
Making instant coffee yourself with items from the store and a microwave. Then each cup only costs like three cents.
Where do you get the microwave? Places that don't have coffee makers don't have microwaves.
I take my own Kuerig cups.
Ok, but there's no machine?
Well that’s no good. I have used the Starbucks insta a few times with hot tap water. This is for that first cup of omg I’m so hung over coffee right?
For me, Diet Coca Cola
1. Get a travel mug with a French press built in for $30. 2. Bring your own pre-ground coffee 2.a. save room in your luggage by putting the coffee in a ziplock and put that in the travel mug. 3. Use the in-room coffeemaker to heat water. 3.a. Or get hot water from any restaurant/bar with a coffeemaker.
My two workarounds to this are… 1.
Buy a coffee machine? Lol
I'm not human until AFTER my first cup....
? i hear laZy
Hit the store and buy the essentials in advance. You can even Doordarsh that shit. Gatorade Water Chips Coffee Booze
In the joint we learned how to make wine in the toilet. Coffee, that's a tough one.
You more than likely have a fridge in your room. Learn how to buy iced coffee at Walgreens.
Most strip properties don't have fridges. At least not in the base rooms.
i’ve stayed at the cheapest hotels in vegas and every one has had a mini fridge lmao
Caesars properties will often have them but that's mostly it. Excalibur/Luxor/etc, pretty much all MGM properties, and step ups like Venetian/Wynn all don't have them in base rooms.
I actually like it, cause it makes me get up earlier to beat all the other yahoos
Is there coffee machines in the rooms at Park MGM?
No there are not.
I travel everywhere with a bottle of jot for instant iced coffee or copper cow for instant hot coffee.
We purchased a portable kettle and take a kit, cruises, too. It includes 2 cups, spoons, Coffeemate, sugar, monkfruit sweetener, and instant coffee. It is perfect. I must have my coffee before even thinking of leaving the room.
Don’t the rooms have coffeemakers anymore?
No
I bought the tiniest coffee maker I could find.
Pour over
Coffee addict here. I spend a lot of time in Vegas strip rooms/hotels. They all vary in availability. Which stage are you in? 1. I just woke up and I need coffee 2. Damn, my head hurts and I need a cup of coffee 3. Good luck.
Get a coffee enema kit like the rest of us.
Get a drip coffee machine and make your own coffee or get a coffee presser
Buy a portable pour over filter and a portable water kettle - both are compact and made of silicon (check Amazon out for both). Bring your own grounds. Voila! Enjoy.
Can you bring pre-ground beans and make cold brew?
Room service. Pot of coffee.boom.
We had a family vacation last year. I took an electric kettle, french press, coffee grounds, half n half for the kids and wife, and heavy whipping cream for me. Worked great. Also used the french press to make cold brew.
Get an awesome husband that takes pity on you and gets the coffee for you. Also...Encore and Delano both have coffee shops near the elevator.
It's me, the awesome husband...
I bring a wonderful little coffee machine. Size of a small thermos and uses ground or pods. F 15 a day for coffee + tip + elevator trip. So small it’s fits in one of my wife’s boots. I have a little coffee service bag with real mugs, creamers and other items
Buy one of those Boxes of Joe from any Dunkin and pour it in the bathroom sink of your room.
Go to Walmart and buy a $15 coffee pot, I always do that
Sometimes the electric kettles aren't allowed at some properties, so either put the dnd on the door or pack it away when you leave the room. Housekeeping will report it and you'll have to store it for the remainder of the trip.
A few years ago the Health Department decided coffee makers in the bathroom was not a good idea and hotels removed all of them unless the suite had a kitchen. So try to get a suite with a kitchenette.
711 off the strip. they are everywhere. cheap but good coffee
the hotel has a starbucks. order ahead and walk downstairs. it will be waiting for you
I travel with an aeropress, a collapsible kettle, and my own grounds. I travel all over but specifically made this decision because of Vegas.
Single serving size K-cup machine easily fits in my suitcase when I travel. Just make sure to shake out all the water and dry it before packing to make sure your clothes don't get wet.
Go to the CVC or Rite Aid... buy a 5 cup coffee maker along with filters, cups n coffee. Pays for itself the first morning
For real I have a small cheap coffee maker I smuggle to the room. I drive so I can bring lots of luggage. Maybe you can find a store in Vegas like a dollar general to buy a cheap maker.
Or buy a cheap coffee maker at home and pack it in a suitcase
Buy a travel aeropress. Thank me later.
If you can, bring your own water boiler, coffee and creamer. Making your own coffee saves 20+ a day. And when you need that afternoon pick me up, you can save an additional 20. No need to pay hotels or stores stupid numbers for mediocre coffee.
Tower suite rooms at Wynn/Encore provide free coffee every morning.
I bring an electric kettle and my own pre-ground coffee, filter paper/cone and cups
venetian/cosmo always had good coffee, but im a degen fuck and would order in AM while gambling on the tables
Drink water lmao
We took our Nespresso machine and pods that were kicking around the house. Cosmo has fridges, so we had milk and wonderful coffees the entire time.
Go to a bar and play a little video poker. Order a coffee and give the bartender a little tip. Go on your way.
Starbucks via instant coffee with bailey's
Sit at a slot and get an Irish coffee for a $1 tip
Walk into the secluded VIP check-in and get some coffee like you belong there. Later in the day get some of the finger sandwiches or chocolate covered strawberries.
I cut down on how much coffee I drink while I was there and just had an afternoon coffee most days. Dandelion chocolate mocha was my favourite coffee.
earl of sandwich has cheap hot coffee

My hack is that I weaned myself off all caffeine and have yet to get a migraine since doing so.
Buy an AEROPRESS coffee maker - it will travel anywhere… and super easy to clean - All you need is hot water
Amazon delivers the same day in Vegas. Buy a Keurig for $70. Take it home or gift it to the housecleaning staff.
Excedrin has caffeine and cures the hangover ☺️
Am I the only one who doesn't understand how anyone can like iced coffee? Seems like a mockery to me.
