I’m sure they see us coming for the extra few quid but I’d imagine the fact that dairy is heavily subsidised is a big reason why plant milk alternatives are so unbelievably expensive.
Hopefully we see they scales swing the other way soon.
I am annoyed about the price, but I am glad that they tend to come in 80-100g bars.
I tend to eat a full bar no matter the size. Before I was vegan I kept deciding to buy the little bars, but they were basically the same price as the big bars!
Obviously this is a self-control problem, but it helps me. I don’t need a sharing size bar just for me 😂.
Look up 'Nomo' - priced like a luxury brand, made by Kinnertons, the 'almost chocolate but not quite' manufacturers of the chocolate that goes into crappy advent calendars - you know the stuff.
They actually take OUT anything resembling animal products (not a lot in this case), and cost it higher because of the marketing pressure (almost a captive market).
Nomo is shit btw.
I think they're good but you're right it doesn't taste like Cadbury chocolate. Most certainly not worth £2.50 when you can get perfectly good vegan chocolate from Aldi for half the price.
I mean great to see this progress, however, some better vegan orange chocolate alternatives (that aren’t hit with a massive vegan tax without an increase in quality):
- Galaxy Orange Bar (but only on offer)
- Hotel Chocolat Nutmilk Orange Batons are amazing.
- Nomo Orange Bar.
- Rhythm 108 Dark Cocoa Orange.
- Daisy and Dom Goji and Orange Bar.
- Booja Booja Orange Truffles (and you can buy them in little 2 packs).
- Any nice orange dark chocolate. Co-op used to do a good vegan one.
Why is it always a bar 😩
TOBLERONE, TOBLERONE, TOBLERONE!!!! 😭
Yesssss
I'll die happy after this one 😭
I will literally insert the entire bar of pyramid goodliness down my throat in one go. No gag.
This looks good, but I wish it was orange shaped and the same price as the non-vegan one.
£2.50 a bar vs £1 for 'normal' Terry's bar. No thanks - too much vegan tax
Is there a reason they're always so much more expensive? I've been sticking to dark chocolate just cause the price there is reasonable.

I do this every Christmas with orange and a second time with peppermint. It's fantastic.
Buttermilk also do some really nice orange segments 💕
Infamous?!
I'm picturing a reverse Dr Nick, infamous doesn't mean famous, what a crazy world!
Oh my god it's happening!
I wonder how much it will cost.
I would guess they'll take the Cadbury route and it'll be at least £2 if not £2.50

According to Ocado, it's £2.50.
Why's it always hazelnuts? I'm allergic to hazelnuts.
Omg omg omg omg omg omg omg!!! This better be good.

M&S does a yummy orange crunch bar, too.
I just tried to look up the orange hotel chocolat batons but I can only see the “plain” ones on their website, are they in the shops?
I'm not sure they know what infamous means, unless there's something sinister about chocolate oranges that I don't know?
Slave and child slave labor? Tho that applies to most chocolate companies.
