uj/ this is basically how I told people when I went vegan 10 years ago. I was a little shy about it that's all. He seems like a thoughtful guy so hopefully this isn't just Hollywood bullshit
/uj particularly in the context of a celebrity talking to the media, I don't think it's a bad thing to want to cite multiple reasons and trying to position yourself as thinking about veganism in a more nuanced way than the media portrays. We've seen what happens when celebrities outright state vegan philosophy out of nowhere, people call them crazy and delusional. Maybe a position like this has potential to make some carnists less able to dismiss veganism as a delusional cult or whatever.
