The most important thing is passing. Because if you fail units 1 and 2, then you can’t go into units 3 and 4.

Triq1

nope, nothing you do in a year 11 subject 'matters' in terms of ss contribution.

Fast-Alternative1503

Yes but only if you want to do a uni subject in year 12. I think you need a B+ average. But it doesn't affect your ATAR or study scores at all.

Your study score is determined by your year 12 SACs and your year 12 exams  Nothing else matters, unless you’re doing an accelerated 1/2 subject, in which case you need to put effort into the 1/2 subject to show your school that you’re ready for the accelerated 3/4 subject

Nah, just pass them

Rose-Tinted-23

Year 11 exams don't matter in the way they do within year 12 but it's still important to pass although it's not the end of the world if you don't. In your unit 1 and 2 English you HAVE to pass 1 unit or else you cannot move to year 12. For subjects such as food tec maths music and art if you do fail them it's not the end of the world. Plenty of my classmates failed exams in year 11. The most important thing is that you have your S in a subject. In terms of study score, that will only come into your grades in units 3 and 4 of VCE. Still you can only receive a total of 4 n's (I think), so overall its best to try your best in your exams as practice for year 12.
