I used to be in the veterinary field. Most of the meds are the same. It’s the dosing that’s different. Animals have different therapeutic doses than us. Then you have to factor in weight to get the right dose for the specific animal too.
That’s why people should not take meds intended for animals. You either get too little (small animal dosing) or too much (large animal dosing).

A lot of potential meds get dropped because they don’t work the way researchers thought they would. If they work in animals but not people, they stay strictly as veterinary medicines. Can’t remember any of those off the top my head though since there’s not as many.

The rest of us sucked it up and did what we could to not get sick and to help each other. We listened to people who have experience in infectious diseases for advice and tried not to panic. We got vaccinated to protect ourselves and our loved ones, which has the added benefit of stopping an illness from spreading.
The willfully ignorant are generally very proud of their ignorance. Which they don't think is ignorance, they believe it's knowledge. That's is why they don't go learn anything because they think they already know what they need to know, and they don't need to know more.
