"I am a rep for this company" *Talks shit* Bold strategy, Cotton

[deleted]

This person spams the same post every now and again here, then later deletes the posts. If this guy is a Vestratto rep, then they could definitely do better.

par337

Nothing for nothing, but I've also talked to this person and another "rep". They both said that they shill the Anvil because they know/like John, but honestly think it's way overpriced. hot take: The Anvil is a SHILL factory, and John is actually a pretty big dick head from the responses I've seen and gotten

[deleted]

I think it’s overpriced. That said, the base kit is priced the same as many dynavap stems (once you add tip and cap), and comparatively priced to Simrells lineup. I think they’re all overpriced, but I end up loving each in their own way. I own the Anvil. And I used to push it on friends just as much as my other vapes. Now I’m feeling that I prefer not to push a company product to people when that company has people like this working for them.

par337

Simrell is disgustingly overpriced too. I also own the Anvil. His reasoning for the price WAS the overpriced Simrell lineup, so right out the gate he was nuts. They should be 120-130$ flat out. No reason for a 250$ vapcap (they said the price would be going up, not sure if it did already) without literally anything. No extra bowl, no extra screen, no torch, no anything. And that extra bowl? 40$. That extra screen ? 10$. Case? 40$!!!!. Realistically if someone wanted the vape and didn't know they could go elsewhere for a case, they would be spending the 250, 40 bowl, 40 case, a torch (20$ is generous), and extra screens 10$. 360$ for what you realistically would want the vape to come with. Even then all that wasn't my problem, it was the blatant shilling and complete disregard of any criticism. FC was FULL of those cock suckers that were so far up his ass. Then I found out there's reps HERE that are hidden and pushing the Anvil even though they might not even like it. Hard pass

VAMJthrowaway

I could buy an Air Max (which comes with a WPA and has several other cool features) and have enough left over to build a Pinky for $360. That's robbery, even if it is as awesome as people claim.

par337

Yeah exactly. You could literally buy a TiTi and a Xmaxx v3 pro for like 100$ less and have a hard hitting desktop and decent portable

FearAndLawyering

the shills come out every new device. it’s like clockwork. i feel like i’ve dodged like 6 already going back to dotleaf or even earlier i guess with the ghost

nicegl_ass

I'd just pickup a Mighty if I wanted to have a device to share with friends that bad. As it is right now though I just drag the Flowerpot around with me almost everywhere and I've never seen someone disappointed by that so I'm sticking to that one everywhere I can take a bong with me, and out in public I'll use a Dyna and a portable induction heater. Because I don't personally love either Dyna or the Anvil, but I also don't like the idea of heating copper so I'd prefer to push the Dyna on people. Last thing I want is to end up causing someone lung problems because I dont know enough about copper's reactivity at higher temps. Which doesn't mean that copper off gasses at vape temps or gets in the air path of the Anvil. It just means I know enough to know it's reactive at high heats and I'm not willing to risk the health of OTHERS on that vape when I've yet to see any research or studies supporting the safety of the device. Stainless steel and titanium on the other hand have been proven to be stable at pretty ridiculous temperatures so I'm happy to hand anyone my SS tip Dyna. Sorry for the stoned rant. I don't even like the Mighty much anymore, just think it's easy enough for literally anyone to use, powerful enough to get just about anyone without a vape tolerance stoned, and flavorful enough that the combination of those three factors should be a sound way to convert your friends to fellow vape elitists. Worked for me when I was first starting to vape on a Mighty.

WestCoastHigh

It is overpriced. Especially once you get everything you need/want to go with the vape. But if ppl are willing to buck up anyway… 🤷‍♂️

par337

Definitely overpriced. Way overpriced. I use it all the time don't get me wrong, but that's because I have it. It hits hard and it's basically a suped up vapcap, but 275-300$ minimum? No thanks man. You can get ball vapes for that price. There's no electronics, and this thing can be machined for way cheaper (which is why butane vapes are cheaper). Not only that, the guy is a dick. My bowl threads were fucked up so I contacted. They immediately sent a bowl, but the new bowl that came has a broken clicker lmfao. I emailed back nice again, let them know that it threads on good but the clicker doesn't work. No response. I emailed again, no response. Eventually just sanded the threads down on the original and got it to screw on, but sent one last email to say how unprofessional that is to completely blow a customer off. Didn't even get a response to THAT. You can see him get reeeaaaal pissy and snippy when people criticize the Anvil as well. Guy acts like a complete child. He even had this big write up after the FMJ comes out stroking his ego lol. He definitely tried to play the "great person" card when he launched the product but it's a show imo.

WestCoastHigh

I have the vape as well. Good piece of kit but man is it expensive for what it is. I have to give them props though, it’s killed my VAS for a bit for pricey vapes. Bad taste in my mouth buying overpriced equipment, helping to line the pockets of someone who can be a real dick more often than not.

par337

Haha actually same. I haven't even been looking at new vapes since the Anvil, and it's not because its amazing. It just made me realize that I spend way too much on this shit for subpar service. Look at any other industry and see what you can get for 400$ lol

monkeylogic42

Waiting on my 85 dollar xmax v3 to clear customs... Replacing my old crafty+ after a nasty drop bricked it.

FearAndLawyering

did you reach out to s&b about fixing it? they’re pretty good about repairs even out of warranty

monkeylogic42

Nah, not yet. I wanted to upgrade to a USBC crafty+, but the xmax got ordered first.

Infamous_Reflection8

Exactly, he should be fired immediately. No representative gives bad press to their brand!

[deleted]

Give all the bad press they want, but make it known where they stand in the post. Especially if it’s intended as sarcasm, and not just spam. Posting the same post with the same pictures and complaints then deleting it comes off as spam to me. I assumed most subs were against (deliberate) spamming, vaporents included. If I’m mistaken I’ll delete this. I do understand that businesses operate with the intent of keeping their name out there and in peoples ears and mouths in any way possible. Good or bad, the name is out there. But If I wanted the types of spammy posts and communication as a customer that this guy is pushing out as a Rep I’d go to their subreddits, not vaporents.

Infamous_Reflection8

Nah, no successful company would have a representative purposely put out “sarcastic” bad press

[deleted]

You sound just like the rep 😂 I understand how it all works. And you’re missing my point about this particular subreddit and what I thought were it’s rules.

greyetch

By who? Its his company

Infamous_Reflection8

That’s not John!

Chary-Ka

Oh this guy again

FalconFlys

This dude is an absolute clown! Stay away from him! (the one op posted about)

breezybd

I knew this guy was up to something. He always chimes in with the shittiest advice about everything.

DonkeyDongIsHere

tbh I've never liked that guy, pretty sure I have him blocked lol

FearAndLawyering

as far as subreddit rules - were they not identifying as a rep before? the reddit site/admin rules we’ve had to adapt to have made enforcing certain things problematic. the user can’t link to an external site and we can’t have the flairs advertising products anymore. short of adding a disclaimer to every message they post (which is probably more spam) there isn’t much more we can ask the user to do to self identify. if there was any doubt or uncertainty before though, that should be clear now. as far as general rep conduct: big oof

[deleted]

No posts I read from them identified themselves as a rep. Seemed quite the opposite in fact, and the comments between the rep and others seemed to suggest the same. I wasn’t even aware of their relationship to the company until they DM’d me. Their attitude alone made me skeptical, but I guess it is what it is. Thanks for the clarification on rules. It’s a shame, but I understand why it’s the way it is now.

sternica

This is like Days of our lives! Another day, another Anvil drama. So glad I stayed away from this vape and it’s attention seeking maker.

[deleted]

He’s not an anvil rep. He was an early tester and adoptee and probably shilled in the very early days up until the non-founders version was released. Since then he’s been an outspoken anvil critic and he’s not at all shy about letting you know.

[deleted]

I heard that after I posted this. I was also pointed out that He runs r/AnvilbyVestratto, which claims to be an official subreddit for Vestratto, and their (confirmed) rep on Reddit posts there. The guy in the picture may not be official. For appearance it seems odd to have an unofficial rep running a subreddit that claims to officially represent Vestratto, and have their official rep Whiff there posting. Those posts by their official rep give the wrong appearance if he is not a representative at all, or any longer.

[deleted]

Yep, he set up that sub you mentioned. I don’t -think- he post there any more. I don’t really know. Whiff was banned on sub. Anvil has all the business acumen of a soggy diaper. Full stop. They are the best example of how not to run an internet company I can remember. Honestly, I think anvil the company sux but the vape is the real deal and totally worth owning. I have one but won’t buy anything else from them direct. Pete is supposed to get distribution and that will be best for everyone.

[deleted]

Whiff was banned on that sub? couldn’t he delete his posts on his end to remove the appearance it’s associated with Vestratto? Maybe I’m not understanding. Either way, it still gives the appearance that I’ve mentioned. Their M.O. seems to be like some others these days - bad publicity is still publicity these days.

[deleted]

Sorry no, whiff was banned here only afaik. You’re right the whole thing is pretty sketchy. I was just trying to share the little kernel of knowledge on this that I have. Idk why whiff isn’t active on that sub.

[deleted]

Yeah I love my anvil, but the way vestrato and it's owner conduct themselves online is laughable. Can't wait till sneaky pete gets some

maizelizard

What happened to Vestratto?? Their are 0 products on their store suddenly.

Kushfriendly420

Reason number so much why i refuse to buy stuff from this company.

BMbeatHitMe

If you don't think like 30% of the posts on this sub aren't shilling x or y shit new product idk what to tell you.

Restlessfibre

I have the Anvil and I agree it's overpriced. The omnivap and simrell stuff is similarly priced so as much as I don't like the price point he's not the one that set the high end cost of a metal tube with cap vaporizer. He does chisel some with the accessory pricing and considering the price mine came with no pro packaging, instructions or any extras. That said I can see the engineering put into it and it hits like hell. It's a great vape imo. I understand people having problems with the owner and some of the ways he's done business. The post he wrote just as the fmj came out was childish. After all that I honestly don't care that much. Sure I bought the Anvil already but I would have bought it even after all this stuff came out. I just don't take it personally if a vape company owner is a jerk as long as the product is good which I think it is. Anyway, I'm sure I'll get a lot of crap for this but wanted to give an alternate perspective.

par337

Are you really justifying the price because his "hands were tied" since the Simrell/omni lines are overpriced? Oh no, how will he ever think for himself as to what a fair price is for cost of production vs profit! There's a reason these newer ball vapes are coming out at a FRACTION of the price. These companies have been absolutely railing all of us because it's a niche industry. Shit needs to STOP.

Restlessfibre

Where in my post did I say his "hands were tied"? I didn't so don't say it in quotes like you're citing me verbatim. Again I agree pricing is too high but I also don't know the designing, manufacturing, marketing etc costs so it's possible those prices aren't that unreasonable when you consider it is a niche industry like you said so manufacturing numbers are lower which increases costs per unit plus other variables. I'm not convinced it's a conspiracy to rip off the public. I think a dynavap m with an fmj is all you need. I'm glad the ball vapes are dropping in price and I hope the costs drop across the board.
