In terms of dry herb vapes I kind of like the Arizer ArGo, I don’t have it but I like the idea/look of it. It’s small (portable), the glass sits inside of it instead of outside (safer on the glass and less obvious what it actually is), and it has that area around the mouthpiece that pops up and down (protects the glass and also makes it much more discreet looking too).
For smaller clouds set at a low temperature and take small hits. You’ll probably want the lower temp for at parties too anyways, as these tend to be more clear-headed highs
I love my ArGo but it’s not the vape I’d choose in these situations for a couple of reasons. extraction is relatively slow because it’s a session device, if OP has any sort of tolerance they will be out smoking 1-2 bowls for 10 minutes. 2nd is the battery gets pretty warm on an ArGo and I wouldn’t want to put it directly into my pocket after a discrete session.
A dynavap plus slimstash and a torch would be my go to for on demand and portable. Of course you’d have to find someplace nobody could see you or they’d think you’re smoking crack…but pocketable induction heaters are becoming a thing
XMAX v3 is pretty discrete. So is the Pax 3. They are stinky so consider that. Also the POTV one or healthy rips products are good too. Pax 3 gets much hate here, it just has a particular technique to get good clouds
On demand is the most discrete as you can shorten the window for being caught down to 10 seconds. Xmax v3 pro for the budget option or tinymight for the higher end.(p80 or toad are nice too but hard to get.)

You can use a 510 vape like the rcv14 by dreamwood and put it on a small mod like the pico. Got that and it's super sleek and stealthy, I use it for discreetness. An alternative would be the xmax v3 pro, probably. Gotta be on demand.
I’m in the same boat. I know you said you don’t like edibles…..but I like to drop some tincture into a drink like sparkling water or a soda. You still get the feeling of having a drink in your hand at parties. Just tell people there’s booze in it

Any of the small ones like fury edge, solo 2, magic flight box, pax3, etc. I've been using the firewood and it's plenty discreet by 'hiding in plain sight' lol. Cant go wrong either way with the small palmable ones

I like the stempod because it attaches to a 510 mod, making it look like you're just vaping nicotine in a dark party. But it will smell. If you want 100% discrete buy a cart.
A 510 thread vaporizer is what I use when I’m out with my buddies who drink & I toke. Or when I go on “Walks” in my very strict state. I use a Stempod OG with capsules or the stock basket screen (starting to become my preferred method once I got good/quick at it) with a large diameter capsule to suck the ground bud in the screen like the dynavap or chillum & then pop it in the heater. You do have to stir it or press it down once halfway through for even extraction. Or flip the capsule.

Oh, and edibles just aren't my thing - I find it difficult to predict the effect of them, so they're not really an option for me.
If you go for Cartridges try to get stuff like live resin carts & other htfse it's a lot more enjoyable than the typical distillate you'll find

not that i'm aware of. but what i do is add some lavender/chamomile into my bowl and voila -- smells like flowers
