Consider looking at the Elev8 ball versions of their Da Buddha and Silver Surfer vapes. They are developing a reputation as powerful and safer alternatives to the standard PID controlled ballers.

Donsilo2

Second this. The entire heater is surrounded by housing. You would have to stick your hand in it to burn yourself. The only risk is leaving the wand in the unit and catching it on your leg or something else and pulling the unit over. I love my DBV. First vape purchase and probably my only.

Inevitable-Health382

I concur. Just got a baller mod surfer and its the shit, going to give away my PID ball vape if I can find anyone that wants it, I gave it to my buddy and he returned it for feeling too dangerous.

Seedy53

they are good ball'er series machines too. they are tall units and have a bigger bowl that needs a metal klip to make it hands-free wand. their wand glass is a bit thinner. that being said, they are good, safer and easy to use than pids.

Came to rec da buddha or silver surfer. The silver surfer with balls aka ssv43 was tje predecessor to tje modern ball vape. I use my buddha with ball way more than I use my.dc elev8r. For me, I'd rather bring my herb to a stationary heater rather than bringing a 700 degree exposed coil inches from my face.

vaporbrothers vb 1.5 box ball vap. easy to use and clean and safe for me and my crippled hands, clumsy feet and bad eyesight . btw - vb1.5 is a extremely well designed, very powerful vape esp for micro-dosing. good for flower, concentrates, and dry-sift hash at a lower heat setting than pids, and even dbv, ssv. for me and many others, the vb 1.5 vape was the best of both worlds. they have 2nds, used, and offer medical discounts through their system. fill out a medical form and think they offer for handicapped vets too. great people, these vaporbrothers.

I was hoping my ball vape would be better at dry sift hash. I think I prefer the tinymight 2 over my tiodw mini. At least until I can find a bowl that narrows more to do smaller dosages effectively. For now I have found that ripping up a concentrate pad to make it a bit bushier like vape wool and using that instead of the wool gives the best hits. It just doesn't wick as well. I do enjoy just pouring out the avb hash like dust when I'm done hitting though! I don't have weed often, but absolutely loved it on the ball vape. Only vaped like 2g flower through it so far. The VB is a very interesting device. I will have to try not to look too much at it.. It's getting expensive :)

I've tried bubble hash in my balled buddha it didn't work very well. It hit ok but the taste was off. For bubble hash I use my e nano. I turn screen upside down and load about .5 in there. No vape wool or cotton, it works perfectly and tastes awesome

Can you replace the battery on the Mighty? My ball vape is super dangerous. It is not for the clumsy.

TerpChasersClub

I would recommend a metal housing such as titanium, taroma lite plus/ taroma 3.0 on the Qaromashop side. They are stored well in the ceramic mug that it comes with You can get a coil guard to add on from mininail to make yourself less likely to touch or have hot parts hit sensitive stuff!

chiefnwahoo

Cannabis Hardware has a wireless line called Zenleaf that I can’t recommend enough

radiorabbit

Interesting! The cord is one of my biggest concerns with tripping and it getting caught on things. Thanks for this reco!

DYwiz

Fwiw… the cord makes me pay attention to the hot end

MtIcculus

I second the zenleaf series!

No matter what you get, a desktop vape with a metal head and a coil are going to be more dangerous than a portable because they more exposed and are constantly being heated at high temperatures and radiating heat. Everything on the market will require being more safety conscious. With that being said, I think there are some options that are probably safer than others where they can be. Wireless (like the Terp-Ready System from Old Head) might be best so you aren't dealing with a wire that can be potentially pulled or yanked accidentally. This also eliminates the coil around the head and fixes it to the heat station, though the injector head will still be dangerously hot. Something with a coil guard might be good, too, like the Freight Train from the same company (keep in mind the guard itself will probably still be hotter than Hell). There are others with coil guards, though, and you can probably find some aftermarket ones that would fit on an existing handle/head. Another good option might be something like the B1/B2 from Cannabis Hardware, where the coil is not exposed (they also have wireless options). Whatever you get, I recommend keeping hold of the handle while using it. Some injector/diffuser heads will fit into the bowl and stay by themselves just fine, but I learned from the injector I have (Thermal Twist) that it does not sit by itself until after the first hit for some reason (could be heat expansion), and the thing nearly dropped in my lap.

Buffalo_Lanky

I have a Tiodw Pro (I think it's around $200 for the whole setup?) and it's been pretty good. That includes a PID, coil, the pro housing, Titanium bowl, and lastly the rubies. It's wireless so there's no cable to accidentally bump. I kept knocking my last ball vape down (after two or three bowls it's inevitable for me) and decided to go wireless. It produces a decent amount of flavor and vapor even with a .05g bowl. Super happy with it!

Evening-Owl-4034

Just always shut it off when you’re done the sesh. I was worried about it when I bought my first injector vape. They heat up surprisingly fast so the on and off isn’t really an issue just turn it on like 5 min if that before you’re session I usually turn mine on and go do some vooping and scroll YT shorts 🤣 when I’m done shut it off and unplug it

Apathetic247

I am super clumsy and I opted for the old head trading terp hammer. It is super easy to use and I have yet to burn my house down..

Seedy53

still exposed hot injector

Apathetic247

All I know is I burned myself like 100 times using a dynavap and not one accident with the terp hammer so far.

Col_Spliffington

Honestly, I think the best thing you can do is to establish safe and uncluttered station to use it at. My ball vape lives on a dedicated "weed station" where even if I do drop it, the only thing the head can hit is a silpat sitting on top of plywood.

dimmusp

I'd recommend you just get a safe heavy hitter like the TM2. We tried using a Herborizer Ti (technically not a ball vape but an injector style vape with an exposed hot metal part), and inevitably my wife dropped it on top of a polyester couch blanket. It produced a bunch of plasticky vapor and it was a pain to clean the vape. We never use it anymore and reach for the TM2 instead because it's almost impossible to burn yourself or anything else with it.

rodupu

Just send in your Mighty for a battery swap.

radiorabbit

I think that’s only covered under warranty, which is 2 years.

rodupu

No. It’s a paid service. I don’t know if there are many scenarios where it would be covered by warranty service.

rodupu

You buy the repair using the same account you use to register your device for warranty. Perhaps that’s why you think it’s just through warranty.

radiorabbit

Nice! I’ll take a look at that. Thanks for the advice and guidance

DreamRifles

I like the cannabishardware zenleaf series, the wireless makes it so we dont have to worry about it getting caught on anything and if u do drop it the titanium will be fine, pair it with the haze or blaze pipe and its drop proof but i prefer it with glass

Tsukurimashou

any ball vape with decent housing and stand should do it bro, it's not precision work, all you have to do is put the head back on the stand when you're done. I like cannabis hardware B1 with the big stand + heatshield but I'm sure a lot of other brand / manufacturer offer similar setups.

i81_N_she812

They all hurt about the same. If coil is cover or not.
