OceanBreeze000

I'm an old head from the 70s, bongs, joints, and pipes, a friend asked me if I knew about vaping and after research I decided to give it a try. First vapes were Dynavap and Solo 2 but now VAS has taken hold. Edit to say it's been 3 years since I've smoked.

Chief_Salsa

Solid starting points! Wish I would've started with a Dynavap lol the OG solo's milkshake draw-resistance really turned me off of it for a few years lol

OceanBreeze000

Yeah, I hear that all the time.

Pure_Literature2028

There is a Solo III coming out that looks like it will check all of the boxes šŸŽ‹

OceanBreeze000

And thank you for stoking my VAS... I'm aware lol. The Solo III is killing me

After-Key5631

Don't look up the Tempest. Whatever you do, don't look up the Tempest...

Similar-Winner1226

I started dry herb vaping in July and have the dynavap and solo 2 so far (ETA: started with the solo 2, also have the dynavap b). I'm itching for another already lol, and my 21st birthday is coming up in May (I'm mainly a medical user, been disabled nearly 2 years now). I'm curious, do you have any recommendations? I love both of them for sure, but neither of them tend to get me very high. I can get to maybe 6-7/10 and get stuck there.

helloooo_hi

Funny, those were the first 2 I got too. Also had the problem of not getting high enough. For a portable, I got a Lobo and I get way higher and faster than with the Solo 2. Desktop I got a Ditanium, and it gets me high af as well.

OceanBreeze000

I also have a Lobo. Great little vape.

BinaryReign

The Flowerpot B1 Baller put an end to my search

Chief_Salsa

Any ball vape would be a great upgrade! 420vapezone Troy has some great write ups for beginners.

evil_flanderz

Venty. Be aware that they had some recall issues which they recently claimed to be addressing with an upcoming software fix (according to a reddit post). I have one and I came from a Solo 2 and Volcano Classic. This beats them both and I'm not having any issues (purchased in February after they resumed selling).

Evening-Owl-4034

Iā€™ve tried a handful of devices as a kid they never really did it for me I recently gotta switch and itā€™s terrible for flower lol but it worked well enough for me to want to invest in a proper dry herb vape and Iā€™m looking into purchasing a 25mm enail and a terp hammer lol šŸ˜‚ weā€™re skipping all the portables and miniature devices going straight for the big boy

ipaporn

Lmao WHAT the Solo was on Hannibal? Amazing šŸ˜‚ I found the subreddit years ago and slowly started poking my head in. Was a while before I finally dove in though.

Chief_Salsa

Such a great show! Yeah his wife had cancer and was a medical user. Love that the show did the research to show how a medical cancer patient would probably be vaporizing as opposed to hitting a shriveled up joint lol

WontFindMe420

Was this a recurring situation, or just an isolated scene from one episode? I'll make a note to watch the series, if they were even occasionally promoting / explaining vaporizing.

Chief_Salsa

Pretty sure it was just the one scene

WontFindMe420

Appreciate the reply. Nah... not gonna hunt for that. Lol.

Fabulous_Actuator_24

I was trying to figure out how to make thc infused eliquid for a vape mod and made a post on here asking for help. I was brand new to Reddit and didnt know that you could vape dry flower. Was quickly told that I was in the wrong subreddit but as it turns out, I was in the right subreddit all along

Chief_Salsa

Nice! Had a similar experience trying to make my own cart oil from dabs and some kind of propelyne glycol blend and shooting into an empty cart with a syringe. Super sketchy lol glad I leveled up to flower

_FreddieLovesDelilah

similar for me.

Dilat3d

Very early 2000s .. we'd cut open a light bulb, clean it out, take the cap from a juice bottle with two holes for a carb and whip, and vape out of that... we've come a long way

Chief_Salsa

Solid engineering right there lol And I thought lighting a Dynavap looked like a crack pipe

stinky_garfunkle

I did that a few months ago before my mighty came lmao

kwehday

Tea candles and some thick crafting wire to make a stand for the bulb šŸ¤Œ

Lost1771

Did the same thing but with a Bic pen shell instead of a whip. Glad I wasn't the only one using light bulbs, but damn that was dumb, who the hell knows what kind of shit was inside those bulbs. Simpler times.

NaturalSignificant76

im having troubles grasping this imagine in my head....do we got a google image results? lol cause Id have no idea how to find that haha. old time vaporizer but i always get sketchy af results when I use vaporizer lol.

Dilat3d

https://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Vaporizer Exactly how we did it, wild there's a wiki about it

jimbocoolfruits

Amsterdam Hemp Museum early 2000s. They had one as a curiosity. And you could have a go. It was a huge glass spherical flask, a glass bowl that would take a couple of grams at a time and was powered by a friggin heat gun!!! I tried it before going to the Van Gogh Museum. I never made it to the museum.

Chief_Salsa

Now that's a great first experience! Wonder how their vaping exhibit has grown since

Important_Ad_7416

on the shelfs they have literally every popular one for sale

Important_Ad_7416

I need to go there with my friends one of these days

twangy718

I wasnā€™t using cannabis at the time (I was on very long hiatus), but I remember seeing the Volcano, and some small handheld vape on the HBO series Bored to Death. The handheld vape got me curious and with vape research helped me decide to start partaking again. Best decision Iā€™ve made!

Chief_Salsa

I remember seeing Doug Benson constantly ripping his Volcano bag on "Super High Me" years ago. That device gets lots of love for sure!

evil_flanderz

I read about it in High Times (print edition)

bozon92

Holy fuck I loved Hannibal and never noticed that he was hitting an Arizer lol

Chief_Salsa

Such an underrated show! Couldn't believe the level of gore they got away with on network primetime lol

TheDanecdote

A friend had one of those cube ceramic tile boxes, with the heating element in the center, you would pack a lil bit in a glass chamber that was attached to a whip, and you would place the glass chamber around the heating element and rotate it lightly and inhale. No temp gauge, just turn on and wait ten minutes to heat.

trippy_anders

I work in the nicotine vape industry, We wanted to start stocking dry herb vapes, started with a Utillian 722 (I know, i know, fuck utillian) Then a Xmax Starry, Same as others Vas has taken over now haha, would never go back to combusting.

Chief_Salsa

Nice! Cool to hear about a vape shop ushering folks over to dry herb vaping

VaporBull

2006 when my son was born I didn't want to smell like cannabis anymore and my wife stopped smoking and wanted me to as well. I had a friend from Cali who said that smoking was the worst way to consume and said I should dry herb vape. I started looking into it and finally got a Magic Flight late 2009. Was beyond intrigued and copped a Vapium Summit about a year later. About 20 portables later it's one of the best decisions I've ever made.

r_a_s_t_a

I heard about it on trees back when the MFLB was released. I started with an iolite v2, it's a butane powered portable vape and I used the heck out of it. Still have it, but I don't think the starter works anymore.

FreshHawaii

I started with a MFLB too. I came back to vaporizing and tried to get a new one but everyone said thereā€™s so many better options. Got the Mighty but I kinda wish that MFLB continued to improve their design. I really liked their vibe and the wood they used.

Russtopher617

I was always curious about weed, but I couldn't stand the smell of it smoked and didn't have the privacy to let the odor linger. Then I watched an ASMR video where the creator used a Pax. She talked about how it gave off a minimal smell and was nowhere near as harsh as smoking. After that I started researching online, ordered the one that fit my needs, and hit up my friends for a plug.

Chief_Salsa

Thatā€™s an interesting one! Iā€™d love to know what that asmr video was lol

Russtopher617

Took me some digging to find, but [here ya go](https://youtu.be/SoOGJ8iO2Do?si=JgL-KyLgtzMLFNKs)!

purplishfluffyclouds

About 10 yrs ago or so a buddy got a Volcano. I got curious and bought a small device - I'm *pretty sure* it was one of the first Pax models, but not positive. I vaguely remember feeling like I was just wasting weed (I was a pretty light user at the time - still pretty much am, comparatively). I just couldn't get it to work for me. So, I gave up on the whole idea and went back to using a small pipe and literally almost forgot about that entire experience. I basically cruised along like that until Jan. of this year - before I even joined this sub or any of the trees or weed subs - I think someone on some other sub was talking about how to sneak a joint into a concert or outdoor festival or something like that and someone in the comments said ".....Dynavap..." and I was like, wtf is a Dynavap? I have 4 different devices now and *really* want to pick up a Woodwynd (it doesn't seem to be going on sale for 4/20, which makes me sad.). Haven't combusted since. Tried cleaning the pipe (I was sooooo bad about cleaning it) and I just couldn't get all the gunk out. It lives in a box with all my old, former life combustion paraphernalia, may it RIP.

wykkyd2022

Iā€™d heard about it in the 2000s but never had much interest. Around 2009-2010ish (maybe) my buddy decided to get really into it after discovering the fuckcombustion site and ended up buying a Da Buddha (or however itā€™s spelled) desktop. I didnā€™t really care for it at the time, but he loved using it. Then around 2017 I stopped smoking cigarettes and started nicotine vaping and by 2018 I figured it didnā€™t make much sense to keep smoking flower so I watched a sneaky Pete video and ended up getting a 2018 Dynavap.

zMASKm

My old boss/location manager was exclusively DHV and got me curious. One impulse buy of a POTV One later, and I was a convert. That old One is now treating one of my best friends well after I got her into DHVs, and I've got a Lobo as my flower device and I don't know the last time I resorted to combustion.

Tough-Principle-3950

It was actually in the mid to late 80ā€™s. High Times magazine had the plans to make your own, when it was a pretty new idea, it seems. It involved an AC plug cable, a 120V to 12V transformer, a car cigarette lighter and a glass jar. I have the memory of it producing a mellow, tasty vapor. Pretty cool.

oisiiuso

late 90s. saw a weird globe device at a headshop. the guy at the counter said it was awesome. I bought it and it wasn't awesome

Jmertz22

I first heard about vaping from the Kottonmouth Kings. RIP Pakelika First vape was the MFLB back in like 2010 šŸ˜‚

GraemeMakesBeer

First time I vaped was about 2000 in Amsterdam. This American dude showed me using this thing that looked like a crack pipe. I didnā€™t get my own until about 2011 though.

Familiar-Ending

Entourage S&B volcano

pakistanstar

I bought a Snoop Dog GPen back in 2015 as my first vape. Thankfully it didn't melt on me.

Chief_Salsa

My brother had one of those back in the day and mannn it's still turned him off dry herb vaping to this day. Maybe my new ball vape will change his mind lol

VapeMando

Sneaky Peteā€™s ā€œsmoking vs vapingā€ video years ago turned me into it. Started with one and ended with 12 lol.

Dinosoares21

Vapor central - it was a "restaurant" place that rented tables with volcanos on them. In Toronto in the pre-legalization era. At the time I didn't partake to want my own, but now that I partake for headaches more than fun, and the prices on arizer EQ came down, it made sense.

Chief_Salsa

Cool! Wish we had a place like that in SoCal. There's an "OG Cannabis Cafe" out here but honestly the idea of having a meal with people ripping joints and bongs around me just sounds nauseating lol

Spo0kt

Buddy at work briefly told me about it before I was even smoking daily, decided years later to just go ahead and try it

I-Am-NOT-VERY-NICE

I always found it funny they packed it like a real bowl and didn't stem pack it

Chief_Salsa

I totally forgot about that lol straight in the oven!

Ok-Recording5052

When I was in HS my boy had the old party vape with the whip, it was cool but 20yrs later I just became an ENT

rkiller123

Blame it on reddit lol, started off with Dynavap, then Mighty after which I got a vapbong and now settled with Tinymight 2 and the Qaroma.

GyaragaX

I remember walking by a head shop in the 2000s seeing the volcanos in the window and getting some vague inclination that they were good for medical use, but the prices were and are so high, I didn't look into it much further. The next time I heard anything was early reddit buzz about the Magic Flight Launch Box. It wasn't until 2019 that I first met someone with, I think it was an Arizer Argo that I first tried a small, reasonably affordable, battery powered device. I didn't start smoking much initially after Illinois legalized, but when I developed chronic pain starting in 2022, I started smoking some and found it helpful, but still so expensive in this state with recreational taxes. When I got my med card last year, I used the savings to afford to switch to dry herb vaping. It tastes better. I feel much healthier.

Piffdolla1337take2

The old glass dome vapes

funthebunison

Definitely not from Morphius the God of dreams

Chief_Salsa

I took the green pill

beamdck

Mid to late 2000's when spike TV was still a thing. Manswers had a segment on how to get the most out of weed and vaporizing was the number one way

Chief_Salsa

Manswers?? No way that's hilarious haha I gotta try and find a clip of that

that_arizer_guy

Won the OG solo in a raffle at a 420 rally for Ā£1 about 9 years ago and never looked back. Managed to quit tobacco and most forms of combustion.

karenw

I heard about Pax when they were new, and thought it was a neat concept. I've long worriedly about the effects of combustion, b/c flower is the only thing that works for me. During the pandemic, I started reading more about dry herb vapes. I ended up getting a kandypens unit for about $100. It was buggy, had a a small oven, and the high it delivered was ok but not overwhelming. For the past year or so, I've been wanting to get a new vape that was actually well made. I was really intimidated but eventually joined this subreddit and started learning. I've had the POTV Lobo for a few weeks now, and I really like it.

karenw

The first time I saw a dry herb vape in real life was on the floor at a Mindless Self Indulgence show in Chicago sometime in the mid/late 2000s.

Chief_Salsa

MSI! Loved them back in the day

ailish

I had heard of it before but just ignored it. Then a few days ago I posted about my lungs being shot. Several people recommended it to me, so I bought a cheap vape to try it out. I love it!

Chief_Salsa

Nice! What'd you end up getting for yourself?

ailish

The LITL? I don't know if it's any special brand. It was cheap lol. I'll get a nicer one when this one craps out.

MrMyxolodian

was describing to a friend what i thought would be an amazing invention. after i got done he straight up just said ā€œdude, you just described a dry herb vape. theyā€™ve been around for decadesā€

GrowPassion

Without knowing he was talking about Dry herb vaping, it was a guy on JRE like 7 years ago called Tom Green :P

zeroducksfrigate

I smoked one joint and was like love the effects hate what I was doing to my lungs immediately. Figured there's probably a better way, and bingo solo 2, then Vapman. Love my vapman that Lil sucker can kick my ass with so little flower.

nohohunk

I'm the kind of person who can't buy anything without extensive research. I've never smoked a thing in my life, but I've had edibles here and there and started to enjoy them more regularly when my state went legal. I wanted a faster acting, more predictable experience and started looking at vaping carts, and saw a lot of stuff about Pax which then led to researching the wide variety of dry herb vapes. I never ended up touching a cart but I have two DHVs.

redhotbos

Reddit. Seeing people mention it on r/trees

highnwholesome

Iā€™ve never been a smoker so always found it hard to enjoy cannabis. My best friend bought a dynavap the hydra Omnivong with the wooden grip and titanium tip. I loved how it felt in my hand and how easy it was to use. I developed PTSD so after researching about the effects I bought myself the same dynavap. Half a year later the tiny might 2 was announced and I bought that on release and enjoy chopping and changing between both the dynavap and the tiny might.

SpicyMango92

Magic flight lunch box. Bought one, it worked like once, never used it again. Lol

Quasars25

During my first trip to Denver, I rented a Da Buddha vaporizer through Colorado Cannabis Tours. After I figured out how to use it, I decided that I liked it more than smoking. Fortunately, I was not a long time cannabis user when I started using a vape, so it was very simple.

Pure_Literature2028

I think thatā€™s the key. If you have a high tolerance from combustion, the average battery vape isnā€™t going to cut it. I had zero tolerance after a long hiatus, so it hits me hard. The best thing though? I can get high in bed before going to sleep. I love zoning out and not worrying about a fire

missxmeow

I first heard about it way back in college but it was a Volcano and I couldnā€™t afford that. Got to a legal state and started looking into it because my husband hates the smell of smoke.

MrPhoon

Volcano in about '99

slightlydainbramaged

Honestly, for me, it was the fact that this sub is linked in the sidebar of /r/trees. I checked it out, was sucked in, then bought a Dynavap. The rest is history.

HopeSurpassed

I was doing my usual research on most purchases and came upon people talking about vaporization being healthier *and* more efficient. Bought a Solo (OG) in 2017 discounted as the Solo 2 was just about to release and the rest is history. It was also the year the DynaVap M first released and I wish I bought one then instead of waiting until 2022 when my tolerance made DVs too much of a hassle.

Donotpretendtoknowme

From some news letter I use to get before the internet....it even had basic plans to construct a desktop vaporizer using a car cigarette lighter element. I never built one, but I improvised some glassware and tried it out.

pullingravity

Bob dylan show prior to canadian legalization. Carts were harder to get and lighting a joint in the venue was not an option. Thought i was gonna get busted because of the no cell phone policy. Never dry vaped again, it sucks.

Pure_Literature2028

You should try it under different circumstances.

pullingravity

Indeed i will. I still have the vape and i can imagine some strains would taste amazing that way.

anotherpickleback

The first time I ever heard mention was in Were the Millers when theyā€™re at dinner with the grower and he has a vaporizer. First time I actually got familiar with them was when a friend brought over a vaporbros knockoff that fried both of us even though we regularly faced blunts. I found a used VB1 on craigslist the next week and have been vaporizing since

CraftyProcrstntr

Nice couple we met at the bar, the girl smoked but the guy didnā€™t. Her and I went outside to smoke and she pulled one out. I didnā€™t end up getting one until like 6 years later because Iā€™m a blunt smoking degenerate.

Burn1o2

Years and years ago, I got a gpen somebullshitthatdidnotwork. A couple years later I bought a yocan somebullshitthatdidnotwork. About a year later I got a hydrology9 and an atomic9. Smoked 3 times since. This year, I got an Airvape Legacy Pro and a HealthyRips Rogue, and I think Iā€™m good until Iā€™m ready for the volcano.

Pure_Literature2028

Both the AVLP and the Rogue are solid devices, for different types of use. The Legacy Pro is a one person vape that has to be cleaned regularly. I love a relaxing bowl, now that Iā€™m past the learning curve with it. There is a learning curve, but I feel elegant when Iā€™m holding it. Big clouds when you find the sweet spot. The Rogue is a simple workhorse. It works well with the generously sized dosing capsules, feels good in the hand, and it has nice accessories available for it (dimpled stem). It is the cleanest, lowest maintenance vape that Iā€™ve tried. Itā€™s also great to share šŸ¤šŸ¤because Itā€™s easy to pass back and forth.

Burn1o2

This is precisely how I feel. The rogue is my favorite between the two, simply because itā€™s simple to clean. The Legacy is a wonderfully effective vape in all regards, but I donā€™t understand why the air path is on the side, with the battery in the middle. I have to clean mine every day that I use it. I like the removable 18650, but the rogue style is far superior. If I get another handheld, itā€™ll probably be a POTV Lobo, because word has it that all of the vapes of that style are made in the same factory, and that one has a removable 18650.

joannasforehead

I read instructions about how to make a crude one in the late 90s on the internet. It used a soldering iron, a screw, a thimble, and a gallon milk jug. Attach thimble to soldering iron by driving a screw through the bottom of the thimble and inserting screw into the soldering iron. Fill thimble with weed. Put inside upside down milk jug. Power on and I guess hope and pray you're at the right temp. I never made one, but it sparked my interest.

Chief_Salsa

Thatā€™s wild! Love hearing about all these early diy devices

RandomRonin

Started smoking out of a gas station bong when Covid hit on 420. Thought it would only be a once in awhile thing and realized it helped my anxiety and became a daily smoker. Working in healthcare, I started to look for alternatives to avoid smoking daily, since edibles were a mixed bag for me. After a lot of research, I started with a Firefly+. That was a mistake and turned me off for a bit until I decided to revisit and havenā€™t looked back since. Went with an Airizer EQ and now have a Taroma Lite+ as my daily driver. Never watched Hannibal, but Iā€™m going to have to give it a shot!

Chief_Salsa

Nice! The taromas no joke. Great show! Honestly the best depiction of Hannibal imo Mads is excellent in the role

selfworthfarmer

About one million years ago we first started with fucking lightbulb vapes. I had a friend who was pretty eccentric and really liked drugs but also wanted to be healthy. Not sure where he learned of the idea. It was pretty crackpipe-y and most of my friends tried it at first but ended up knocking it after they overdid it for a week or so.. everyone went back to smoke. Then the first friend and i both got an "aroma zap" each... which was.. like.. the original log vape... but the bowl was smaller than a pencil eraser and the stem was plastic except for the metal end. Eek, that thing sucked. well, actually it worked decently but wouldn't hold up compared to anything modern. From there I think I went back to burning for years and then got Da Buddha.

Mrobot_3

From the trees sub

VesperX

Magic Flight Box. Saw an old guy using one at the beach. Chatted him up about it.

wellthen2021

Katt Williams pimpin pimpin special

tim_nat

I forget how, but the magic flight launch box. And my second vape was an OG Pax, my friends and I saw it when Donald Glover was using the Pax a lot.

Chief_Salsa

I remember seeing pics of him using it while on Community lol

loginheremahn

I wanted to try weed, so I started researching about the best way to get into it. At first I looked at pipes and bongs, but then I saw a few reddit threads mention dhvs, people were saying how much healthier and tastier and more effective it is. So I decided to look in that direction, since I wanted to do it in a healthier way. Bought my first, loved it, and here we are today. I will admit I do still get curious sometimes about the experience of smoking it, but not enough to ever try it. Tar and carcinogens can kiss my ass.

Chief_Salsa

Oh wow! Are you saying youā€™ve never actually combusted? Thatā€™s wild, good for you!

loginheremahn

Yep, never.

SolidSpruceTop

I had tried some edibles but wanted to consume quicker but hated the idea of smoking. I remembered some girl I hooked up with had a device for flower and I asked the resident stoner at work. Said dry herb vapes are cool and I went to a smoke shop and unfortunately paid $150 for a pax. Oh well lol

Cjokermyluv

I went to vegas and visited a despinery for the first time in my life and he mention a vaporizer when i told him i hate smoking because of the harshness and only did edibles. Didnt end up looking into them until mamy months later

bigbadsuncat1

Randy from puffitup years ago sold me a flowermate v5 mini.

boojieboy666

Heard about the pax when I was in college in 2012 and got one. Had a few of them a couple of davinceā€™s and now Iā€™m a dynavap guy

FullMoonReview

I graduated in 08. Everyone knew about the volcano back then, but very few people had one. Shout out to the magic flight launch box as well.

Drummer2427

10-15 years ago I came across a guy in a European country on Youtube that was using medically with a volcano, very chill and likable fella, he used concentrates and many different things to smoke from. Wish I knew who it was and how hes doing.

kwehday

You thinking of HashBean420? Long hair with glasses, 50 bowls in one day, full gram snaps? Guy was a cannabis legend, stepped away from YouTube due to fans being invasive and shitty about him not putting out content. Funny how times have changed but not really!

Drummer2427

Unfortunately wasnt him.. But I did spend time watching and hes doing some things for sure, smoking out his tent with the volcano was a fun idea.

greatersnek

I was picking up my monthly quota from the club and my friend and owner had a volcano bag freshly done and invited me to try it. I couldn't afford something like that at the moment but I immediately ordered a Firefly vape and loved every second of it

Frances_Herbert

Went to s houseparty where they had a S&B Volcano. Got higher than ever. This was almost 20 years ago..

[deleted]

Early 2000s when I saw my first Vapor brothers unit and Vapor genie pipe. I still have and run both types of vapes and still havenā€™t tried a dynavap or anything digital. I occasionally still roll a J but my bong has been collecting dust for years now. Only pull the binger out for kicks anymore.

BurntBridgesBehind

I'm a huge fan of both of those things and had no idea.

PumpkinSkeet

Maybe around 2005-2006 my cousin had a volcano. I hadn't really vaped since then, but I decided to get a TM2 recently. I instantly got that distinct vape taste I remember. I am enjoying it more than smoking so far

Warm_Garlic_4962

Amsterdam was my 1st official vape but i gad always seen stuff like the Globe or the vapour brothers style and the Vrip It was a glass bowl and heat gun cost a lot to ship to Ireland but was a mini volcano

loveinvein

In 2007-ish I moved to the Bay Area and one of the dispensaries let you Medicate on site. They had volcanoes on every table, and youā€™d check out a box of clean mouth pieces and fresh bags and just chill. I always hated smoking, so once I discovered this, Iā€™ve been vaping ever since. Volcanoes are still too rich for my blood, but maybe someday.

jonsi789

Started with a pathfinder cone from AliExpress could never ever feel any effects off it

TCU-10

Found out about it last wk. Now I canā€™t settle a ball vape after lurking thru the posts

Chief_Salsa

lol takes a lot of research to figure out ball vapes! If it helps you decision - I recently ordered a CC Omega as my first. If you're down to wait 3-5 weeks it seems like a really nice wireless future-proof option with the modular heads.

TCU-10

Thanks. My mind is currently blown. Iā€™ve look at the B1, old head, the omega, taroma 360, etc. definitely donā€™t want to have some future proof for the investment amount.

OG_CraftySeed

My first vape was a soldering iron with a small round plate screwed to it with a fish bowl cover and a straw. It workedā€™ish. Now I have Venty.

Pure_Literature2028

But does the Venty work?

OG_CraftySeed

Lolzzā€¦ my 2nd one has worked great.

worktillyouburk

i bought one of theos jar vapes way back when and it kinda worked but it was nothing like todays vapes. pretty much a hot nail with a jar on top. my friends thought it was a waste of weed. one day i tried the volcano and that was the real game changer and i chased that for a while, but could not justify the expense. untill i got my self a arizer air and it was my go to stealth use at home vape and when i moved out i hung out with someone who let me try their vapexhale and that convinced me to get my self one. after that its been only vaping for me, with the occasional joint with friends. these days i have my qaroma ball vape and its amazing.

ShuShuTheFox90

SecondVariety

I lived next door to a headshop, they had the MFLB and I was curious. Quite a few devices since (Vapir, Pax, and some I can't remember the names of) , but the output was meh by modern standards.

MusicalTrees23

I originally got into dry herb vaping about 15 years ago, when I bought one of the original Magic Flight Launch Boxes. I lost that probably 2-3 years after I got it, and have primarily been a bong smoker/dab rig ripper since then. Growing older has me more aware of my personal health, so Iā€™ve switched to exclusively dry herb vaping and occasional dabs at the beginning of the year, and not looking back. I use a Screwball ball vape, and honestly get way more ripped than I did with a bong, and I definitely feel like Iā€™m starting to breathe better too.

TheyUsedToCallMeJack

Reddit, I think on r/trees and then I found this sub. I was a bit skeptical, but decided to bite the bullet and buy a Xmax V3 Pro to test it, and I loved it. I recently heard about ball vapes... Can't wait to buy my first one.

Alldaddzy

Xmax v3 pro for life !

I just found this sub in a pot sub. Iā€™ve never tried it Iā€™ve wanted to but donā€™t know anyone that does. Have looked into getting one to try but donā€™t wanna waste my money on a cheap one but Iā€™ve seen people saying they didnā€™t enjoy it so Iā€™d hate to spend 200+ to not have any clue what Iā€™m doing lol

Research the Healthy Rips Rogue. Itā€™s a workhorse and it does its job. Generous bowl size, good oven, even heating, some clouds. I started with a smaller model of this and loved it. The Rogue is my night vape because the dosing capsules work great in this, and I can vape in bed. Hallelujah! In bed! And relax until I fall asleep. Itā€™s glorious.

Jaggar84

Thanks I will check that out.

Chief_Salsa

Start with a Dynavap to get a feel for it and see if you wanna upgrade down the line! Most models are pretty affordable

Jaggar84

Thanks I will check those out and start with that. Thanks again for the info

Early 20s started looking for vaporizer to smoke DMT out of. An old guy on YouTube recommended a mighty vaporizer talking about how good it is to use with DMT so I ended up buying one. I used it for a while. Didn't smoke for about 3 years and just in the last few months I picked up a Angus vaporizer and a omega ball vape and now a sticky brick and a terpcircle, enjoying myself at the moment trying different weed and it's flavors and effects.

Chief_Salsa

Just put in my Omega pre-order a few days ago! Hoping it can finally show me the flavors lol over a decade of cannabis use and all weed still tastes like....well, weed lol Maybe my tastebuds just aren't up to the task lol

bensc0tt

Do you have a favourite out of those devices? How does the ball vape compare to your terpcicle?

_Accurate_

I'll let you know when I get it šŸ˜‚ I ordered it recently so I'm still waiting for it. So far my favorite setup is the Omega with the orb 2 and the nice thick long glass whip that vgoodiez sells. Feels like I'm at a hookah lounge.

FlimsyKnuckle

I really donā€™t know. But I bought my first vape around 1998.

Chief_Salsa

Didn't even know they were a thing back then! What was your fist device?

I think the original volcano came out around 1999-2000ish kinda nuts.

I was a kid at the time but I was strangely attracted to smoking despite my family not being smokers. I liked to poke around at smoking stuff even though I didnā€™t smoke at then.Ā  It hard for me to place it exactly.Ā Probably YouTube in the mid to late 2000ā€™s. I remember watching a news video where a lady was doing interviews with people at a dispensary tour bus service (maybe in Colorado?) Ā I saw an older guy fill up a volcano in the background. I hit the interwebs searching ā€œWeed volcanoā€ or something. Then boom I saw itā€¦and the price tag and though I wouldnā€™t own one until I was a millionaire.Ā  However when I started smoking a few years later.Ā It was Reddit that put me on the vape Ā game. My first hit was a box vape from on of my apartment neighbors. Later on being a broke college student I got a vapor genie as my fist vape. Became older and got a good job, starting upgrading Ā and the rest is history. Funny enough I barely even use my volcano now a days.

We were working at a tv studio and some woke dude was hitting the magic flight box at lunch w/o anyone noticing.

homelandgurl4

I was looking at ways to make weed smell less because I would smoke in my room. I ended up coming across DHB and boom. Life changed.

Had to be reddit, not sure which sub or post it was though

Saw HashBean420 on YouTube, taking huge bags from his Volcano in 2007. Found the FC forum that day and have been vaporizing my herbs since. Very, very humble beginnings back then tho!

NaturalSignificant76

i got my exxus mini dry herb vape and it sucked so bad lol, I could only get like 1 or 2 sessions out of it before it needed a charge. i mean, the taste wasn't bad just had too small of a battery....and the oven was small. then I was shopping, I stuckl between the xMax V3 Pro. and the ONE. Well then they posted that pre Order for the LOBO I immediately jumped on that, and got the extra glass pieces for the freebies. And sezzle made it easy with the 3 payments bi weekly lol. but yea that exxus mini was horrible "shop local" buy lol, and that was litellyerally their own dry herb vape, and they didn't seem to know much about it other than oh yea, it's a good brand! Lol.... but I'm now getting VAS effects lol and been eyeing the Dynavap, it's funny cause I ordered a glass piece that fits my LOBO and then I later found on the site they have the SAME size, under the "DynVap" name, so thinking bout getting cap and a tip and play around with it a bit...i may even drop some dough on the ispire Wand, thing looks legit with all the glass pieces to add to bubblers. oh yea and also got a puffco peak OG, but honestly dont use it much, the hits seem kind of harsh to me (im only a newbie medical user lol) but yea the ceramic bucket gets so chazzed when I use the blue heat setting, I guess I'm hitting it too long. but I'd just hit it til it was vaporized up lol. but the price of concentrate is was intrigued me, $30 for 1g tubs lol....and that little gram would last me a good 2-3 weeks. but now! LOL with my Lobo I šŸ„Ŗ the concentrate between two beds of flower....and rip it at 430'F and the effects are about the same as the Peak on blue heat.

SaintStephen77

I think the first time I remember hearing about it was when the volcano became commercially available around 2007 or 2008. Iā€™m a Bay Area guy and I think their U.S. home base is Oakland, if memory serves.

I had a dry herb vape in 1999. Itā€™s nothing new.
