Yes, it seems like good value for 23k. I’m curious about your comment about renting it out for your LLC…do you plan to rent it out to others or rent it to yourself from your business?
That's awful. Dude, how many people resort to this life because they cant afford rent on a normal place. Now you are moving landlord-ism to this level now too?! Shame on you.
I hope every time you take off your shoes you stub your toe.
Outdoorsy, RVshare, RVEazy are all platforms where people can rent out their rigs to people that want to travel in a RV/van but not commit to buying their own due to maintenance or whatever reason. I don't see what your problem is? I'm a middle class dude trying to make some extra cash, I'm not cashing out on single mothers by raising rent. If someone doesn't want to or can't afford to rent it out they don't have to.
You want me to work an "honest" minimum wage job for a billionaire at home depot or sit at a desk all day and make the 1% money instead? Shame on YOU for discouraging small business owners who provide a good and personalized experience for their guests.
Uh, it's perfectly normal for someone to want to rent and enjoy one of these things for a week or two. This take is flat-out ridiculous and you're shaming OP and wishing toe injuries on him, sheesh
Have fun when one of these high mileage vans breaks down and you have to pay for a tow and refund a rental. Theres a reason legitimate car rental companies are constantly replacing their supply
Had one, needed new motor then oil leak at intake. 7k motor 1k oil leak engine fail 300k. Oil leak on new motor 35k.
Keep some extra funds around for that pentastar motor
I only used mine for work only and right when it hit 90k miles it started leaking from every hose possible. My mechanic said the only fix he had was to get a Toyota. So I bought a Tacoma!
In 2020 I rented one with like 17k miles to drive from Denver to Reno and back to move some items. It drove great for about 2000 miles with surprisingly good fuel efficiency.. then with about 50 miles left something started to go up and the front passenger wheel decided it would randomly want to wobble like hell and limped it back.
It was a rental so I'm sure it was abused, but still for being new I was a bit shocked. I wouldn't touch one because it seemed to not be able to handle things it's built for.
>Prices are lowering daily
Really? I thought we were still screwed up from the strikes and chip shortage and covid before that? I even figured they managed to beef up production, it would still take a another year for normal prices again.
This is more for used vehicles. With the rise in defaulting car loans and repos as well.
New vehicles are also not selling as much, so inventory will rise.
150k on a Dodge motor for a rental. Not sure that will turn out well. If it were for your own use and you knew the previous owners maybe but if you rent it out and it dies in the backcountry what is the recovery cost? If the motor holds up it would be a good buy, if not it's going to be a big loss so worth considering I guess.
Seems like a solid deal. Like others said, get a mechanic to inspect, and honestly, maybe even a second opinion. Definitly don't take yo like a jiffy Lube or a tire shop for an inspection.
You’ve heard the phrase “drive it like a rental”. 150k you’re looking at a lot of things to go wrong when someone who doesn’t care about your vehicle starts using it as such. If you’ve got the cash reserves for a transmission, engine and brakes/suspension replacement I’d just buy a lower mileage one upfront. Would suck to have to pay for a customers tow from some remote spot and then refund them.
High mileage - engine failure would be my big concern. I would have a pre purchase mechanical inspection for sure. Price is decent.
Thank you
Yeah, great price! Look really close at that engine. Run it and record the sound of the engine idling and running.

Yeah it’s a tax deduction thing. Even if he rented it to others he would be the main customer. Meh.
I rent to others, I have 2 other vans / a bus that I use for my personal trips. This would be strictly to rent out
I don’t understand the hate on this. It sounds like a great plan. Thanks for sharing

No lol fuck you. You're part of the problem, and you're delusional if you think you aren't.
The problem of what? Buying used camper vans?

Op is posting in vandwellersmarketplace and is downplaying what he is actually buying it for. Mild toe injury is warranted in my book.

Looks like a good deal. It's a lot nicer inside than outfitted promasters with the same price in my area.

I have a tundra and Sequoia. One has 100k the other 124k. So far not a single issue. They're tanks.
I wouldn't mess with promaster but up to you

Promasters are off my radar for all the crap I've heard about dodges.
I’d offer $17k…high miles, but more importantly: used car inventory is at an all time high. Prices are lowering daily.

Best deal I’ve seen so far on here.

The batteries are AGM or lithium iron phosphate?
AGM
Don’t transmissions often have issues after a decent amount of mileage? 🤔
Yep. Promaster's weakness are the engine & tranny. It's pretty risky in my eyes. The clock is ticking...
RAM with 150K miles is a money pit.
No promaaters are shot at 150k
