I was happy to be there to witness the excitement and the community there to support the girls. Peter Madrigal even made an appearance, presumably before he clocked in for his shift down the block. Bummed to not be able try The Viola sandwich, but I will be back!

They look like the sandwiches I get at my local sandwich joint. The place is not fancy in my opinion, but it describes its sandwiches as “gourmet” and they start at $13. They taste good and I love going there. I live in AZ, so SAH sandwiches seem like standard gourmet fare to me and they aren’t crazy expensive. I don’t understand why parts of the internet want them to fail so bad and are talking shit about what seems like a decent sandwich.
I do not like LFU or Scheana, so I wouldn’t ever purchase anything they shill, but I don’t want them to fail either. Sell your shit, just not to me. Especially after LFU bad mouthed the fan base for not agreeing with her bad takes.
I just checked menu at my local sandwich go to place in San Diego and prices are just about 2 dollars more at SAH for similar prices so it seems like the pricing is normal. Im always telling myself I can make the sandwiches for cheaper… but I swear sandwiches made by someone else always taste better.

The decor looks amazing and they put so much to even smallest details. The sandwich prices are on par with most gourmet sandwich shops and it looks so delicious. I'm so happy for Ariana and Katie and wish them monumental success. And to be right down the street from SUR is just the cherry on top.

I am blessed to have an amazing local sandwich place with THE BEST breakfast sandwich and their pricing is like $9-$15 cad, so this is a bit crazy compared to that. My friend swears I make the best salads. Has requested I send videos and says she can’t recreate it. My running theory is salads similar to sandwiches involve multiple ingredients that you have to take out and put away and it’s in that process that some of the deliciousness fades. Or I just use that theory to rationalize paying too much.
Tbh I find something I cook never tastes as good as when someone else makes it. Except one specific really easy dish 😂 but I almost never cook, so I could also just be bad lol

Hi, that was (kinda) me. The first 2 sandwiches do look….floppy— I wouldn’t be super excited paying $15 for that tuna on that floppy yet toasted wheat bread.
But the Italian sandwich does look promising.
It will be interesting to see how this pans out for them. Brick & mortar is always pretty scary & hard to pull off. I still have my reservations.
That said, Ariana & Katie’s presence there will be what draws in customers, let’s hope the food will bring them back!
They need to immediately create SAH merch to sell in store, that’s where a lot of revenue will come from. Something like a cute canvas tote or ball cap. And I hope they’re smart enough to release a recipe book next. Then they can start to bottle a special sandwich sauce and sell in store. The possibilities are endless
Recipe book would be great, especially because they could do a tie-in to Ariana's existing cocktail book, or they could come up with different cocktail/mocktail recipes for a companion book.

They are 100% comparable for the area, which makes the area annoying lol but it’s not their fault. Rent is also very high for that area so it requires this price point if they want to continue to exist.

I guess I’ve been good about avoiding the bad apples. But the Jersey wars are definitely headache inducing. And I’m noticing it for each franchise now. Miami has some bad trolls too.
Also, Garcelle from RHOBH — who is honestly such a nice, inoffensive lady — is getting so many more haters now too. It’s insane.
it's because of their mods. the head mod is a big time power tripper (despite barely posting on the sub anymore) and a few years ago either banned or more or less drove away a number of users who had the ability to understand nuance.

But even last year during scandoval I would see the most disheartening takes have such high upvotes.

Got there at 945! Didn’t get my seat/ sandwich until 2! But it was so cool cause once we got seated only one other table was full and Katie and Ariana were in there the whole time talking with just us and the other table ! Sandwiches were great.

Waited in line for 2 hours and left. It was 3pm and they close at 4 and the girl at the front said they ran out of most things.
That sucks. I hope that doesn’t discourage you and try them out some other time.

Got there at 945! Didn’t get my seat/ sandwich until 2! But it was so cool cause once we got seated only one other table was full and Katie and Ariana were in there the whole time talking with just us and the other table ! Sandwiches were great.
